you definitely have to improve the levels of hygiene in every building, including rooms and the gym. The floors are always discussing with stains and food pieces as well that are not collected or removed by any member of stuff even when I asked to. when asking for unclogging my shower as well, I was advised that I had to be the one doing that service surface and when I required because I’ve cleaned it and I called someone to unclog it they placed all the dirt that was in my drains in my shower, which I found very not hygienic and unclean.

Don’t go here unless you love having windows that don’t open at all, half of the ‘facilities’ never work the oven is just a microwave good luck cooking anything ever. the staff are pretty nice though. but the room gets so absurdly hot in the summer and spring months unless you have a portable ac or a large fan you will be sweating constantly

Everything in the accommodation is good beside the cleaning service that only does the floor they don’t make the beds nor dust the tables it makes it hard because as a student. We don’t hav time to do this every time in the other the resident that I was in the cleaned well and placed everything good but in this one it’s pretty hard to go by as for the staff members they always try to get into your skin not most of them some of them ask personal questions and it’s pretty creepy beside it’s a good accommodation

The gym facilities are worse than expected based on the photos - the dip bar has never been fixed after broken for months, and breakfast refills are often slow. You would often come down to find empty milk bottles and empty plates, while the coffee machine has been broken for a month.

I really enjoyed staying at Vita Student Iona Street it will always carry so many memories of my student years. I am tremendously helpful for the staff and all the facilities provided.

The location is very central, which gives easy access to places such as the New and Old Towns, as well as the UoE campus. The staff are some of the loveliest people I've met, they show a level of care and openness that makes Vita a lovely place to be at, especially when bogged down with coursework and other stuff. The amenities are typically up to date and well maintained, and if there's any issues that occur, the staff is quick to assist and rectify it.

Starting off, the rooms are well equipped, spacious, good designed and the building offers a lot of great activities and nice places to relax. The staff is very nice and helpful and is always there if anything needed. The only things in minus might be:
* The breakfast station: I like what they have now at the breakfast station but I think it can improve a little by offering more fruits and maybe more cooked food (like fritata, omelette etc). For the rest of the breakfast is very good
* The noise: I know that there are a lot of students my age there but sometimes during weekdays the noise from outside in the garden or from people that are fighting (verbally or physically) in their rooms can get tiring and often disrupts my sleep (even though I go to sleep at 24:00-1:00). One incident that occurred was right next to my room when two girls physically fought and started throwing things around, screamed a lot and I felt like the cupboards in my room were about to fall to the ground because I could hear all of my glasses moving around (which, to be honest, really scared me).
Other than this, Vita is really good but it's good to take into consideration these aspects.

My friend lives in York Vita and it’s absolutely beautiful. The grounds are incredible I’ve never seen a student accommodation like it, definitely beat my experience in my student halls. Jealous of anyone who gets to live in a vita

Excellent staff, but outdated rooms for the price we should pay. Compared to dorms in Madrid which are cheaper but more modern…
However about the quality and how clean it is around the dorm: 10/10

I wouldn't recommend Vita to anyone looking for a comfortable living environment.

The balcony window door in my room was broken, and from June until the day I move out, it was never repaired. The management kept saying they couldn't fix it because they were unable to source the hinge. I find that explanation very unconvincing. As a result, I couldn't open the window for several months and had to keep it closed even during hot weather.

A problem that directly affected basic ventilation and living comfort should not take months to resolve. This experience was very disappointing.

Good room, services and location. Many reasonable facilities with a comfortable space.

the accommodation and the facilities provided are amazing, as well as the location of the buildings in leeds. the only downside is the fact that the staff access the room quite more than what is normally acceptable in my opinion, giving the renter more control over the room and limiting the staff from entering the rooms whenever they want and expect us to let them in every time would be nice.

Overall, I had a decent experience staying here. The staff and maintenance team were always friendly, responsive, and helpful whenever I needed assistance, which I really appreciated.

However, the facilities are starting to feel quite old and could definitely use some upgrading, especially considering the amount we pay for accommodation. One of the biggest frustrations is the key/card access system—the doors often take several seconds to unlock, which becomes annoying when you’re carrying groceries or in a hurry.

The service is good, but for the price, I expected more modern facilities and a smoother overall experience. With some renovations and improvements to the access system, this accommodation would be much better.

Living at Vita Student Glasgow couldn't have been a better experience. The facilities are top-notch, the rooms are fully equipped with everything you could possibly need, and the housekeeping service is spot on. Most importantly, the staff are simply brilliant, always so friendly and ready to help with whatever you need! :)

I really apprecciated the staff being always available and helpful, easygoing and caring. There is a lot of privacy and services work well.

Vita student was the worst choice

I would genuinely think twice before booking with Vita Student. My experience has been incredibly disappointing, particularly considering the huge amount of money I paid for accommodation that I barely even lived in.

To be completely fair, the staff who worked at the accommodation (Leeds Portland Crescent) were lovely and I have no personal complaints about them. They were friendly and helpful whenever I dealt with them. Unfortunately, my issue is with the way Vita Student as a company handled my situation and the standard of accommodation I was expected to pay so much for.

When I moved in, my apartment was really dirty, and to make matters worse, the heating didn’t work. For the price Vita Student charges, I find this completely unacceptable. When you are paying a premium price for student accommodation, you expect the basics — a clean apartment and functioning heating — to be provided from day one.

However, the worst part of my experience was what happened when my medical circumstances changed.

I experienced serious, life-threatening medical complications which meant that I was medically unable to live alone. I had supporting letters and medical documentation from the hospital clearly explaining my circumstances and confirming that I could not safely live at the accommodation.

Despite providing this evidence, Vita Student refused to allow me to cancel my booking on medical grounds.

I wasn’t trying to get out of my contract because I had simply changed my mind or decided I didn’t like the accommodation. I was dealing with serious medical circumstances that were completely outside of my control, and I had hospital documentation to prove it. Yet I was still expected to continue paying a huge amount of money for an apartment that I was barely able to live in.

That is what I find most upsetting about the entire experience. There was very little understanding or compassion shown towards my circumstances. I was left in an extremely difficult financial position, paying for accommodation I could not medically live in, despite having provided evidence from the hospital.

When you combine that with moving into a dirty apartment with broken heating, it is incredibly difficult to understand how Vita Student can justify charging the prices they do.

The accommodation was nowhere near worth the money I paid. I paid a premium price and expected a premium experience, but instead I dealt with basic maintenance and cleanliness problems and, when I faced a genuine medical crisis, felt completely unsupported by the company.

I want to stress again that the staff themselves were lovely. My criticism is not directed at the people working at the building — it is directed at the policies and decisions made by Vita Student as a company.

For a company charging students this much money, I expected far better accommodation, better value for money and, most importantly, a degree of humanity when presented with serious medical evidence.

Unfortunately, my experience has left me feeling that Vita Student was more concerned about enforcing a contract than recognising the very serious circumstances I was going through.

I would strongly advise anyone considering booking with Vita Student to read the cancellation terms extremely carefully and consider what would happen if their circumstances changed unexpectedly. I certainly would not put myself through this experience again, and based on what happened to me, I cannot recommend Vita Student.
