We're Village Wax Melts, a small family business based in Manchester, owned by husband & wife Abi & Karl. We started making wax melts back in 2017 as we struggled to find any wax melts we were happy with. We found that most lost all their scent after the first burn, meaning it was becoming very expensive to keep our home smelling fragrant! We are both naturally curious and after some research we began making our own wax melts. Following months of trial and error we were happy with the finished product. 5*... Easy to order, I was kept informed of delivery, very well packed, I wouldn't hesitate to order again. I haven't opened the reed deffusser s yet- but have since spoken to someone who has and I was told they are gorgeous

The citronella sponge worked a treat

The citronella sponge worked a treat. My husband and I only got one mosquito bite each all week in Greece. Both of which were on our ankles, which admittedly we forgot to use the sponge on. The scent from the sponge also kept the hotel room mosquito free for the duration of our stay. I would highly recommend this product.

Happy customer

Returning customer after 3 years! Prices have had to increase since, unfortunately, but obviously they're doing something right because we're all still here supporting! My go to melts are always the vintage book store ones! Great scent, great throw and great for the autumn /winter seasons

Prompt service

Prompt service, Sponges to replace used ones. No bites this year when we’ve been using them.

I bought three of these sponges and…

I bought three of these sponges and they didn't work for two members of my family . My daughter got over a hundred bites and ended up in hospital and my husband got badly bitten also, so they don't work for everyone it's a chance you take when buying them

We’re really sorry to hear that your daughter and husband were so badly bitten, and we hope your daughter is doing okay.

Citronella is widely used for its mosquito-repelling properties and there is scientific evidence supporting its ability to help repel mosquitoes. However, as with any repellent product, effectiveness can vary depending on the individual, environment and circumstances, and unfortunately no product can guarantee that someone won’t be bitten.

Thousands of our customers use our Citronella Soap Sponges year after year and are really happy with them, and we currently have over 600 reviews on this product, all rated 5 stars, so we know they work really well for many of our customers.

That said, we completely appreciate that they may not be effective for everyone, and we’re genuinely sorry that this was your experience.

Game changing sponges!

Your citronella sponges are a game changer! First holiday EVER with no bites…
Also have the room diffuser & spray, which are also very good.
However, being able to go out in skirts/short sleeves in an evening with confidence is a revelation!
I’ve tried every product available over the years - including bracelets, garlic capsules, other sprays…
Only negative is that it’s a shame there isn’t a one week or 2 week option, as it seems wasteful to throw a partially used sponge away but I am already a returning customer for my September holiday.
