These cards do not work, cannot use them online. I tried to use at a grocery store and it put a hold on my acount and now have to wait a week for a new one. What is going to stop it from not working again. I feel bad for my family members who wasted $60.

Warning Infected Site - Do Not Use!
Website balance checking never works. The company declines purchases and has retained the gift funds deposited with them. The company has no customer service and will not respond to customer service requests. Their official web site is infected with a Trojan virus that will steal you gift card money if you use it while infecting your personal devices. Cheaper to throw away the gift funds than repair the damage to your personal devices. Tell the sender of the card to never/ever purchase one again!

There are plenty of reasons for the thousands of negative reviews. The company throws up hurdles and barriers in order to use the gift card, including a non-working website. We spent 2-3 hours attempting to use the gift card, and were only successful due to a sympathetic and persistent store manager that made multiple calls to Vanilla customer service. Avoid Vanilla gift cards like Covid.

Do not purchase Vanilla Gift cards. In June 2026, I received a Vanilla Gift card as a gift. It had been loaded with $200.00. I inspected the card packaging before opening the sealed product and all margins of the package appeared intact with the original factory seal. However, when I opened the sealed card holder, it was apparent that the card inside had been tampered with. The last digits of the card number, the security code, and the serial number were all scratched off rendering the card useless. Vanilla Gift customer service limits the reporting of card problems to submitting an online form. No live customer service agents are accessible. Vanilla Gift customer service policy demands a copy of the purchase receipt before they will investigate reported problems with their gift cards. Because of the condition of the card and packaging, the card appeared to have been fraudulently tampered with during the manufacturing process.
