Helpful, polite, friendly and cheerful
Jason was helpful at the till and took the time to go the extra mile to help. A young lady (with long straight ginger hair I think?) was also very helpful and knowledgeable on the shop floor. Everyone was polite, friendly and cheerful. I had to go to the till to find someone to help me which was where I found all the assistants.

Amazing Service !
Service second to none. Jeremy served us when deciding rucksacks and was incredibly knowledgable. Ensuring the rucksack fitted securely and safely. He also assisted on finding the best jacket for my son’s DOFE gold expedition which my son is delighted with. He is super friendly and interested and listens to the customers needs. l will not go to any other outdoor store now.
A second person advised on walking boots ensuring proper fit and again asking the sort of expedition being undertaken again ensuring the correct range of boots to choose and try. Brilliant !

The Ultimate in terrible service!
Saturday 5th March we go to the Chelmsford Store, we spend £418.50 on some hiking equipment for our holiday and purchased a pair of Salamon Walking Shoes. My email address is taken, the shoes are checked on the system and the order is placed having paid for the shoes in full with the expectation they will arrive at home prior to the trip.
19th March and day of departure no sign of the Salamon shoes, not the end of the world but not ideal either. Still no sign of an email confirmation of the order or any communication from Ultimate Outdoors.
Now back from vacation i call the Chelmsford store today to find that the order has been cancelled by Head Office, and had i not reached out and chased this purchase id of heard nothing from Ultimate Outdoors! Im now told that as i ordered the shoes in-store i have to go back into Chelmsford in order for them to process back the credit to my card!
You couldn't make this up.... if retailers want customers to come to the hight street and spend hard earned money you need to get your act together and make purchase, and refund processes user friendly. I am now being inconvenienced again as your customer and suffice to say we wont be buying from you again! If its not in the store for you to take on the day my best advice is spend your money elsewhere!

Absolutely incredible staff!
Absolutely incredible staff!! Came in today looking for a few hiking items and an extra layer for the typical uk spring weather; the in-store team were so helpful and I was able to find absolutely everything I needed!
The store had an awesome selection and I was able to both stock up on the items I needed for a weekend escape and get inspired for a bigger trip to the outdoors.
So glad that this store is here in Chelsmford.

I always judge a company on customer service. Ordered online and too small. Took it back to shop but forgot receipt but manager changed it for next size up without any asking. Saved a trip back.

We have been to the Chelmsford store to buy few items for my son’s Duke of Edinburgh expedition. First a lady served us in the walking shoes section, excellent service, very pleasant and helpful. Then we went to buy few clothes, bag and other items and served by Jez, who is extremely knowledgeable about the items vey kind and extremely helpful.

Lucia was very helpful in making sure the boots I purchased fitted properly, it was not to much trouble for her to get different boots and sizes for me to try until I was happy with the fit.
