One of the worst experience had in my life. Our company is solid and strong inside of the US, but this "bank" just decided to close the account without any particular reason, explanation and, even worse, without any prior notification. They just froze our money refusing to transfer it to another bank account and with the only possibility to send a check without a tracking number (unbelievable). From the reviews I understand it's not the first case and seems a common pattern for this "bank". Don't waste your time with them and move to better and reliable alternatives.

No reply from their support team, no way to get our money back!

They have closed my account and locked money inside without paying it out (not a large amount) and refused to transfer it to another bank account and saying it must be a check which they didn't send, then they took the renewal fees and I can't login to revert it.
Really unprofessional and hope it is not a scam

They closed my account unexpectedly, with the excuse that it had to do with ' new US treasury regulations'. I offered to provide invoices and documents, proof that I run a legal business with real law abiding clients but they refused. I had to wait almost 2 months in order to receive my balance in a check over mail. Though CX was responsive through email, the whole process was an ordeal. I do not recommend this so called bank -because it's not a real bank- at all.

Suspended account then reinstated after two months and still charged $425 monthly fee. Furthermore, Novel decided to close my account later without proper reason. Terrible support. Super slow response. Don’t put your money at risk. I can’t even get the fee back for the suspended period.

Worked with them for 3 years, sent all my company documents and client contracts. They accused me of fraud and shut down my account with no further details.

It had happened one year ago. At the occasion I exchanged many e-mails with and the actual bank (Blue Ridge Bank) and managed to unlock my account. Now, one year later, after reviewing all my documents, they shut down my account again.

My account with Novel Bank was abruptly closed without any prior notice or explanation. To add to the frustration, I received a digital check with no routing number, rendering it impossible to access the funds.

Attempting to address this issue with Novel Bank's support team has proven futile. Despite reaching out via the provided email (support), my inquiries have gone unanswered. This lack of responsiveness is concerning, especially when faced with a significant financial inconvenience.

A deeper dive into online forums and reviews reveals a disturbing pattern of similar experiences. It appears that Novel Bank may be operating in a questionable manner, leaving many customers in distress.

In my opinion, the lack of transparency and customer support raises serious doubts about the legitimacy of Novel Bank's operations. I encourage anyone considering Novel Bank to exercise caution and explore alternative banking options.

Our business account was closed suddenly without any explanation. This was done without any reason with what was wrong and how to possibly rectify the issue, After trying to get information in vain to fix the issue, We were told that our balance would be mailed in the form of a check, which to be honest makes no sense, seeing that we requested that a wire transfer be done to another account. We agreed to the mailed in check but that was a nightmare, this company is supposed to be a bank and considering that you were mailing a financial document one would expect at least registered mail with tracking as the default shipping method to ensure the document reaches the location. The attempted two times to send the check an to date we have not received our balance from the account. I had to eventually tell them to ship with tracking to my residential address.This is pending. I will see what happens. I believe if you can't provide a service for a customer, the least you can do is give a reason for the closure, i don't think that is a crime to give a reason. It can only help the customer to better their business and become better customers. I would not reccommend them due to this.

Scammed away with my money and kept sending non cooperative emails when asked about it

Update: just check other's review every was scammed the same way, closed account for no reason and then sent a check without any delivery. when I asked them why they told me "thanks for confirming the receipt of the check" I mean what the heck, should had never trusted novel scam

They closed my account with money on it and they say because if the recent regulatory demands by the OCC
I have other banks I never had an issue with them.
Novel is 100% scammers

not good for business, closed my account for no reason, and took my $50 balance.

Closed account for no reason, always problems, bad support, everything is bad here.

I am glad that I managed to locate this page and read through the reviews. Shout out to John Davis who seems to have hit the nail on its head - This is a joint scam by Novel and Blue Ridge Bank NA. They both keep shifting the blame on each other to try and run away. Our account like many others was closed abruptly on 27 June, 2023 with over $100K in deposits in the checking account. They supposedly sent the check to us which we never received. A new check request requires a minimum of 5 weeks waiting for the previous check to show up (or not). When asked to send the check via FedEx which otherwise seems like a pretty ordinary request, that "is not possible" and even if they do, someone needs to pay them via cash when receiving the check. When provided with a shipping account number for FedEx to bill this label to, that again isn't possible. I just filed a detailed complaint with the OCC to get them to step in and stop these guys from robbing us and many other hard working businesses.

They Shutdown our account 3 months ago without any reason, they refused to communicate or refund our balance. Stay away from this bank.

for people that has the same problem like me, please start fill a complaint against them in the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) if you want to get money back.

It's been a nightmare, never try Novel, they are the worst.

I've been a novel client for over 18 months, I've always been happy, and they've always done right by me.

On the 15th of August WITHOUT warning I receive an email stating my account was shut down due to negative balance.

I have dozens of bank accounts, receive hundreds of emails per day, and having looked through all of it I was never warned my account was negative from debiting their exorbitant monthly fees.

I now have a payout coming in from Stripe on the 28th of august that I won't be able to access or receive due to them shutting down my account

I need my account reopened before the 27th or I will join in on the impending class action against these thieves and post this to my 200K instagram followers

BTW* I previously wrote a review about novel about a payment I sent going missing 3 months later they got my trustpilot review removed. THEY ARE USING A COMPANY TO FLAG REVIEWS

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS FRAUDULENT COMPANY

Now watch them respond telling me to email support @ novel.com like the robotic monotonic scammers they are.

They will probably remove this review as well in due time.

Like for many others, they closed my account without any warning or proper justification. I didn't even get a chance to move the money to my other U.S. accounts. I had to scramble to pay my company bills using back-up accounts. It took them a whole month to issue a check, and I had to wait 2 months before I was able to use my money again.
Again, I did not break the regulations they claim I did (I still to this day have other active U.S. bank accounts), but I got no chance to refute or appeal. Their support (email only!) was no help, and only replied out of a script, telling me all I can do is wait.
I will never use them again, and I highly advise everyone to avoid them like the plague.
