Had a salesman call last November following a cold call to say that I was due a free assessment on my system - why, they never fitted it? The salesman who called told me everything was working well, but the two batteries I had already fitted to my solar were not enough to power everything in my property, so said that I needed an additional 6.5kw as an add on to my existing 2x3.3kw batteries. When the young fitters came, they didn’t have a 6.5kw on the van, so fitted two more 3.3kw. Shortly after having the batteries fitted I had a query about something, I rang and had to leave a message as nobody picked up, but never got a call back. I have just had an independent assessment of my system and have been told that I never needed the additional batteries, the original batteries would have been perfectly sufficient, so I have laid out £5,695 which I needn’t have spent! This whole industry is unregulated and full of cowboys, very angry that I have been shamefully scammed!!!

I would have been happy to move on and let this matter rest, but since leaving my review I feel I have been under siege from this company! I have been bombarded with calls to my home phone and mobile, with messages being left, there was even a message left on my WhatsApp. The messages started off as benign, but became increasingly threatening (legal) and were left by Shay Foley the Managing Director of Trusted Home Solutions. It got to the point where I messaged him to say that if he didn’t stop, I would be forced to report the matter to the police and trading standards! Still he persists in trying to get my review removed, this time I received an email from Trustpilot to say that THS believes that my review is for another business and not theirs - unbelievable?

I did not respond to the response below by THS at the time, I just wanted to move on from this whole sorry business, but I feel I now have to clarify a few things that were stated by them.
I had as I had already stated, had two 3.3kwh batteries fitted, which should have been sufficient for my needs, I am recently widowed and now live alone. Unfortunately the existing batteries had not been fitted correctly, with no solar power going back into the batteries, so all my usage was still coming from the grid, the high usage was not initially obvious as I’d managed to get onto the Octopus Go tariff that was extremely low. This fault was nothing to do with THS, but with the inept company that did the initial install.

When the salesman from THS called, he professed to have exactly the same system to mine, but told me the batteries I had were not enough to cover my usage, he was basing this on the abnormally high amount of power going out, having the same system he should have been able to clearly see by the ShinePhone app, that there was something very wrong just by the direction of the flow arrows, as well as the fact that a single woman should not be using more than and his family! However, this was ignored by the opportunity to make a sale, he did the usual pitch of prices having gone up since my installation just over a year previously and produced a sheet of paper with the price of a 6.5kkWh @ £8195 - but todays price only £5695. I feel so stupid with blindly signing up to this, a quick Google search will show the price of the same battery at an average price of about £2400 less fitting, it is my fault that I believed the hype and fell victim to subsidising a salesman’s commission, but since losing my husband, I just wanted to make my home as energy efficient as possible and reduce future electricity bills, the salesman was very convincing (they all are) and I believed him.
Also in the response by THS, they state that their ‘Domestic Energy Surveyor’ recommended changing my electricity tariff to an economy 7 tariff, so that I could purchase cheaper electricity throughout the night! Well, what a revelation, my house has been on an economy 7 ever since it was built, so that statement is straight out of Hans Christian Andersen!!!

I was fortunate enough to find a reputable ethical company to sort out the problem with my system. My system is now working as it should have done from day 1 and they maintain that the additional batteries I had fitted by THS were overkill! It took them a couple of visits and quite a few hours work of having to correct the wiring and correctly fitting the CT clamps, but my usage has now gone right down, I only wish I had found them much sooner and I could have saved myself £5,695. I would urge anyone to do their research when having any solar/battery installation, do not allow salesmen into your home from a cold call, it generally doesn’t end well and I no longer answer the phone from any unknown numbers!

I was persuaded to buy 2 batteries on 12 June to supplement my solar panels. The fitter came at 11.00 on the 19th for a bungalow installation and finished at 1.00. No problems, clean work and tidy. Very pleased with the job. Looking forward to a sunny summer. Well pleased with the firm.

Have just had a solar battery added to our existing solar panels by Trusted home solutions, everything was explained to us by a member of there team in a totally professional way in plain English. they did everything from start to finish, the electrician was well mannered and cleaned up after he had finished, totally trustworthy, even put the app on my wife's phone so we know exactly how the systems performing. I had the Battery and inverter fitted on the 5th June and according to the smart meter I have spent 3p on electricity. On most days the solar panels and battery are more than enough to power the house. The companies fitter was polite, professional and explained everything to me. My only complaint is, I wish TrustedHomeSolutions had contacted me earlier, the best purchase I have ever made.

Engineer went above and beyond to fit everything into a small cupboard on an extremely hot day,very pleasant and sociable 10/10..

Had Shane round today from Trusted home solutions. With reference to solar panel batteries. Was really professional explained everything fully and put it in layman's terms I could understand. Covered all the costs what the system would give us. Answered all my questions. Would highly recommend them.

Shane was excellent in explaining the advantages of using batteries for electricity us. Have brought and awaiting installation on Wednesday.

Brilliant work done by their installers. Was efficient from start to finish. Was recommended a 6.5kw battery by a trusted home solutions energy surveyor and it’s worked brilliantly. If I manage to get on to a economy 7 tariff I may even add another!

The appointment was made following a cold call, the salesman was very pleasant and the unit was installed within 3 days but with no after support. The invoice details did not reflect fully what was paid for and it took some time to get this rectified. Phone calls and emails went unanswered until we posted a negative review. The battery unit works well and is reducing our import from the grid. We have now received instructions on the monitoring system but it took a while.

I had 6x 3.3kw batteries fitted to charge up at night on economy 7 rate to power my air source heating system in the day and I couldn’t be happier. I’m saving over £300 a month and can now afford to put my heating on, thank you so much for the great advice and service 5*

Very happy with THS - a rep came to my home to see what devices would suit me best. I had a battery fitted by the company a just few days later and after 2 months my electricity bill has been taken down to practically nothing- just the standing charge! Just annoyed I didn't get a battery when I first got my solar panels as I could have saved a fortune.

All the staff I dealt with were great and the installation team were quick and great to deal with - would highly recommend.

We had solar panels and battery installed last month. We found the company very professional, polite and efficient (the neighbours even stopped us to comment on how lovely the installation team were). Communication was excellent as was the service we received. There was no mess, the panels and battery were well placed and considered. On the first night we could see we were already saving on our energy - given that it had been a drizzly, cloudy day we were really not expecting that!! Thank you Trusted Solutions for a first rate, 5 star installation. We look forward to seeing you when you go to do our neighbours who are so impressed they have now asked for your contact details!!
