TruGym Omdömen 

Having been a member of Trugym Gateshead for many years now, I have seen a lot of managers and good instructors come and go, and if I honest have thought about cancelling my membership a few times. However, I am so pleased I didn’t, Sam the new manager is like a breath of fresh air, she has turned the place round in a short space of time. Loved her classes when she worked there a few years ago, but There are now new different challenging classes, a better yoga environment, and even a sauna. Her enthusiasm is palpable , she makes you want to push yourself, I also enjoy Paul’s spin class, Graz hybrid and rig fit classes. There are many other varied classes to suit all levels of fitness. There seems to be lots of machines too, but I prefer the classes. The other members are supportive and encouraging. If you’re looking for a relaxed non judgmental good gym then I would definitely recommend Trugym Gateshead.

I’ve been a member of the gym since the day it opened & it really is a nice place with very friendly members.
There are some great instructors Leighton, Paul & Lucy are all excellent, re-employing Sam Myers as manager & class instructor is a genius move.
I had forgotten how amazing she is, such a dynamic & engaging personality. Her classes are so energetic, full of fun as well as being a really hard workout!
She is a breath of fresh air & has brought back a huge injection of enthusiasm & motivation, it’s just what the gym needed again.
For anyone considering joining the gym it is very good value for money & now that Sam is back it’s a very positive & motivational space to train in.

I was a member of the Kidderminster branch, which closed suddenly, yet a payment was taken from my account afterward. Despite reaching out multiple times, I’ve had no resolution or proper response.

On top of this, I returned my car parking sticker for a deposit refund and was assured it would be processed, but I’m still waiting.

The lack of communication and customer service has been incredibly frustrating. I wouldn’t recommend TruGym based on this experience.

Never trust this company when working for them my two daughters worked for them in Kidderminster and they closed down with only giving my daughters a few hours notice and they didn’t get paid there last monthly wages so I’m going though a small claims court and acas are involved

Polite staff good equipment well maintained clean and pleasant changing room pool and steam room

Rubbish gym ! 2nd hand poorly maintained equipment from previous gym that closed , car park run by a separate company always looking to fine you for not registering parking . Don't waste your time or money

I wrote a complaint about the maniger at Trugym Thorpebay and my reward from the owner was to be bared from the gym, I did nothing for this. This is a very badly run gym that allows poor Maniger to be aggresive and rude to clients I would avoide at all costs. This gym has a very poor reputation and I can see why. It does nothing for good mental health.

After cancelling via phone and email I was sent a email stating that my subscription had ended. The company continued to charge me monthly under a different name to truGym.

Now I have tried to reclaim my membership fees they are saying this can only be done by head office and head office does not contact me. I have been forced to pay money myself to take legal action against the company.

I have never used the facilities once but they owe me almost £1000

Trugym Thorpe bay aqua classes have excellent teachers Freddie and Helen are marvellous could do with more classes staff are lovely manager friendly and helpful cafe excellent coffee prices for toast could be lower

Has a pool and spa so you’d think its a good place to go for some R&R…the only R&R you’ll experience here is rudeness and racism from an old blonde member of staff. This is the Huddersfield site.
This staff member has no tact whatsoever, doesn’t know how to talk to and treat people. Be careful if you’re brown because you’re more likely to be discriminated against. The club manager really ought to keep his staff in line and tell them how to carry themselves professionally at all times.

I must be going to another Trugym! The staff are delightful, always very welcoming. The changing area lovely, area for hair drying/ make up, the pool is fantastic , crystal clear and I’ve always had space to swim. Sally , the manager and all the staff have been so kind( just been diagnosed with an illness and trying to keep fit! ) The other members are also very friendly. It’s a lovely place to chill out in and I always feel better having been there. Monthly subs very reasonable and all classes free. Well Done Kidderminster Trugym!

Very disappointed with staff, lack of trainers with knowledge. Set up of the gyms could be a lot better. Seems like the staff don’t know what they’re doing. Very poor management and customer service.

Few days Spa closed more than 2 weeks spa so cold I couldnot use ,It is awful I pay every months but I canot use

horrible gym , the attitude of the manager was appalling when I had mentioned to the receptionist that I wanted to cancel for ramadan she said she would do it for me. I had been informed of 2 charges being made to me after this and when I had asked about it they were rude and refused me a refund.

This gym, I would give 0 star if I could. Absolutely disgraceful customer service. Wouldn't recommend this gym to anyone.
By a few months ago, I cancelled the direct debit via bank app,(I didn't know I have to drop an email to do cancellation). After than, I received a call from this gym, their staff asked me, Do you want to cancel the membership, I said YES, She said, I will make a note on the system and told me you have £25 outstanding to pay. When came down to settled the outstanding balance. They were absolutely rude and said you have £175 and one more month to pay to cancel the membership.
When I asked them why your staff said the cancellation will be marked on the system, their manager was getting defensive and asked who you speak to? and said probably the staff left, AND YOU STILL HAVE TO PAY!
As the failure of internal communication and staff not trained correctly. They still put the cost on to customer side.

This gym, AVOID!!!! AVOID!!!!
When you do a registration of membership, everything OK(smiling face), when you leave.(RUDE)

The gym isn't particularly cheap, yet the cardio machines are around 15 years old, the pool and changing rooms are in a state of disrepair with damp and fittings loose. The showers are either very hot or cold. Then when you try cancelling they ask for double verification and take extra months money even though not using the gym and I got no response to my email at all and didn't get my money back, they are not interested. I've given it 2 stars on the basis that there is some good weight equipment and the local staff are generally friendly and helpful, although did have to lodge a complaint about a member of staff for behaviour towards customers. I wouldn't return to this gym.

Excellent gym, friendly staff and brilliant personal trainers

Great place, to unwind, good staff, lots of different classes to do. something for every one, relaxing pool with blue swirling roof,

sauna, and jacuzzi, let your troubles bubble. and come out feeling calm.
