This is a follow up to an earlier review

I was initially quoted £83 as my phone's value. Having sent my phone to TradeYour Phone, I was offered £55 on the basis of a weak battery. I disputed that, (see my earlier Trust Pilot review), and was subsequently offered £65. I accepted this on the basis that although I was being scammed, It would cost me £10 to have the phone returned to me. The money was paid into my account.

I sought advice via Gemini AI. It referred to this sort of sales operation as, 'Bait and Switch'. Don't get caught!

This was a good decision to use these guys. Sent my iPad to be looked at and got a decent offer in 3rd decline. Happy with price and the money went in on Monday after the acceptance on the Friday. I would recommend. I had email updates throughout

I was offered for my Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G 128GB
Quoted: £83
Amended Offer: £55
Condition: Good

My order has been revalued from £83 to £55 on the basis of it having a weak battery.

I replied:- I have received your revaluation of my Samsung phone. It was originally valued at £83, You have now made me an offer of £55 on the basis that the battery is weak. I would dispute the validity of your revaluation on the basis that you were aware of the age of the phone and must therefore be aware of the battery life. In addition, I used the phone very little compared with most phone users. I would also say that the wholesale costs for a Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G (SM-G990B/U) replacement battery typically range from £5.60 to £11.00. I must therefore conclude that your new offer of £55 is in error or your company is trying to scam me!

Offered £60 less than the original offer as there was a fault found with my phone, however no explanation of the fault was offered or explained so a bit disappointed

Was offered a higher price and sent the phone off given the ‘good’ rating and I also read what qualified for ‘good’ on the compare site and the terms and conditions link for trade your phone. They said the phone had external damage and multiple scratches which was untrue and exaggerated. There was no mention of what the battery health needed to be, offered me a low price, I rejected this twice, so don’t accept their first price… I then called to argue the final quote and they told me in their website t&c’s it says you need 80% battery health.

Beware as this is misleading and unclear as one set of t&c’s has no mention to the 80% figure where as another set of t&c’s does apparently… you then need to pay £10 to have the phone returned to you if you aren’t happy with the price..

I had an excellent experience selling my fone. I revived progress as the deal was going through,and I got what I was hoping for ,for the fone.The money was in my bank about 3 days later

Scam and fraud! The company are operating in an underhand manner, have no understanding of UK GDPR guidelines and should be avoided at all costs! I will be contacting the police and regulators regards their conduct! DO NOT USE!
