London South 10k
I recently completed the 10k South London Tough mudder - there was 9 of us in total, the event was well planned with great and challenging obstacles.
Shout out to Ed Thompson from Spartan who helped us organise our corporate event - thank you
My only negative point would be that there was a few obstacles with big waiting times - maybe having a few more helpers on certain points in the course would help things move more efficiently.
But overall great experience
What a professional organisation
What a professional organisation, no issues excellent communication if I had any questions for Ed Thompson he soon helped me out with no quibbles. Booking another one for next year.
Is there anyone aliiiive out there ? UPDATE
Impossible to get hold of anybody at this organisation. I have inadvertantly deleted my £100 ticket (which my son had to buy for me as the website repeatedly crashed via my laptop) and so I required a resend of the ticket. I have been trying for 3 solid days and cannot reach a single human to fulfill this basic task. So it's looking very much like I'm going to lose out on event, the experience and the £100 because of shockingly non-existent customer service. Never again .
UPDATE
eventually , with 3 days to go before the event, all participants were re-emailed their tickets. Problem solved....eventually and after a long sweat. The event itself was absolutely brilliant, gruelling, uplifting, wet, fun. I have already booked the next one.

From start to finish Ed made the whole experience and arranging a team of 43 seamless. The adding of participants etc and moving times was completed quickly and nothing was too much trouble for Ed, Joyce and David. Joyce also was a great help in all the registration requirements for our team.
The event itself was extremely well planned, obstacles were challenging and fun - mud mile was all one of our favourites, along with artic enema and a few electrocutions along the way, there was no issue if something was not for you, you could walk around these and just enjoy watching. Beautiful location also After facilities were just what were needed and a variety of food and beer stalls.
A great day for all and the sense of pride, energy and adrenaline 43 girls had on the coach on our way back to Swansea was worth every bit of mud and muscle aches for us all.
Thanks Ed, Joyce, David and all behind the scenes for a great day - bring on 2024
Nothing Tough about it
The most deceiving name..
There is nothing tough about this event. There are far too few obstacles across the longest route of 15km. Some of these obstacles are more of an inconvenience and almost laughable to the point you think you may have ended up on the kids route.
Incredibly poor event and for the best part boring and not particularly challenging, felt more of a run than an obstacle course.
Don't waste your money
Nice idea badly implemented
I've taken part in several mud runs over the past 8 years but this year was my first Tough Mudder. I was really excited, thinking it would be a bit more of a challenge, being 15km. My previous mud runs have been 10km and 12km.
Things looked promising on arrival, organisation was good. But then , we got started - Tough Mudder's idea of being "the toughest in the UK" is to just make you run up and down the same hill several times. They don't add any more obstacles, or if they do then they class the hill as an obstacle. One of the obstacles? "Carry your team mate up a hill on your back". Or put some planks on your feet. Shocking.
There were some genuinely good obstacles (such as the Block Ness Monster, that was fun) but every single obstacle had massive queues, usually because part of the obstacle was broken and they just blocked it off rather then actually fixing it.
One of the big attractions for an event like this are the photos - all my prior events charge for the photos, but they usually provide at least 20 quality photos. These are free with Tough Mudder but entirely pointless. I found 1 photograph of me. Just 1. Pathetic. I'd rather you charged me £20 for photos and actually put more photographers on the course.
Needless to say, I won't be attending Tough Mudder again, as there are many other much better events.
Manchester 2023…
Ed Thompson was assigned to our group as our Manchester tough mudder rep for 2023. Ed has been the most fantastic rep despite my many emails and calls back and forth to add more people to our group (sorry Ed, haha). He got back to all of my emails and questions super fast & allowed me to relay the info back to my group in a timely manner! We have contacted Ed directly to book in again for another 10K in September (we must be mad!) as we wanted to keep Ed as our TM rep again! Thankyou for everything! You’ve been a legend
The best challenge
Absolutely fabulous day - fantastic challenge to take on with colleagues.
Fully encouraged to achieve your best with the help of the others completing with us.
Park vandals
This company has destroyed my local park (Heaton Park) twice. Tractors rake up lawns and leave deep groves and mess and stop children and dogs being free to roam safely. Why not repair the mess or stop vandalising fields and greens. Find waste land.
Organisation could be better
Did the 15K at Belvoir Castle on 24/06. The obstacles were decent although there was quite a wait for some of them and a 40 min wait for a mud crawl one for some reason which was an anti-climax. Also website says there are 4/5 water stations on the 15k yet there were only 2 within and a 3rd just before the end. The first was after the 6k mark and 2nd after 11k. It was 27C so this felt like not enough and too far apart or until the 1st station. I would do the event again but probably try elsewhere as it would hopefully be better organised.

Ran it today at midlands venue and have to say it was a shitshow, I was so disappointed as ran it a few times and last year wasn’t great but this it was so badly organised, we was stuck in a queue for 45 mins on the course with absolutely no idea why? The crowd (queue thought it must be serious as noobe was telling us anything and it turned out it was unsafe to do a obstacle as they was met expecting the number of people that there was on our wave to to be there?? After we all have got tickets I don’t know how that worked? It ruined the whole mood, we then after all that time wasn’t even allowed on the obstacle…..after that, we tried to get back into the mood but I was so disappointed it wasn’t great but we continued…..then the big new slide that had been hyped up was also been shut down that afternoon…when I asked why it was brushed off to begin with and the volunteers was trying to distract us by telling us to keep running! No! I want to know why this is so shut this year and she said because of high numbers it was for our own safety to shut yet another one down! We paid 100 quid a ticket! If it was a cheaper event I get it and it’s a bit more acceptable but when you are paying alit of money for anything you expect what you pay for, for the prices they charge I expected no mess ups! Better quality, better attitudes from there workers instead of filling us with a scripted response and that was after pushing them, many many weeknesses and cock ups coming up now in these events with the takeover 2years ago ….I don’t know if we will do it again now …as smaller cheaper ones seem to be the way to go, much better organised
Ran out of shower water
Event: Sunday 4th June 2023 - Scotland Drumlanrig Castle. Start time 12:00. Finish time 2.30pm.
No water to shower, rude staff at the showers. Absolute joke that they can run out of water half way through the 2nd day. Poor planning.

Although the company are really busy my email enquiry was answered in a reasonably prompt amount of time. Ed was helpful and provided me with all the information I needed to help me make the appropriate booking for my team.
Ed Thompson is fantastic
Ed Thompson was fantastic helping me book my Spartan race, he went above and beyond to help me out and make sure all my questions were answered and that i got the best service.
Thanks Ed! Great experience when booking
Had a great experience when booking our team Tough Mudder event. Ed was incredibly helpful at breaking down the various package options, and ensured the booking process was easy and efficient for us as a team. We are really excited to take part in our first event and thankful for the help and info received so far! :) Thank you!
The booking process was so easy!
The booking process was so easy!
Ed T was super responsive and gave plenty of information and options when making my large group booking - really easy to work with and would really recommend the TM team for any corporate booking or large group
Barr Group's second team Tough Mudder
This is Barr Group's second corporate Tough Mudder and once again the Tough Mudder/ Spartan corporate sales team (Ed Thompson and Joyce Rosal) were incredibly helpful. We have had to make multiple changes to our booking - including changing our team leader, start time, participant number and race distance (twice!) - all by email. Each time they were efficient and cheerful, actioning our requests quickly and without issue. Thank you - we are looking forward to a very fun Sunday morning! Ed Thompson has really been helpful through out the process, from sending all the information when i couldn't decide what location i wanted to go to. to following up and making sure i feel appreciated throughout the process
Quick and easy registration process, thanks to Ed!
Ed must be a pro at Tough Mudder because he navigated all of our obstacles with ease (no more cheesy puns, I promise). Thanks to Ed, registering our group for Tough Mudder was a breeze. From the moment I first connected with him, up through registration, Ed worked with our complex group through multiple changes, additions, and complications. I know he's working with many groups at a time but he really made us feel like his #1. Now bring on the Main Event.
Really helpful and easy process
Ed Thompson was really helpful and made the booking experience so easy. Thanks Ed!
