I hope someone understands what I mean as I give this review. My wren is like my crocs. I loved it instantly and while there is basically no need to own 20. I want 20.

It writes so well. The ink doesn’t bleed through paper, dries fast, and there are so many options. I think I already have more ink than I probably need because the bottles are big.

My only slight knock is more on me. I wish I looked a little more into exactly how some of the colours came out. I will say go for samples first, but I also don’t regret any of the colours I have.

The quality of the materials at Tom's Studio are excellent! I love my Lumos Mini and my Wren! The only problem I have now is which inks to get! The ink is super easy to refill, and the colors are unique and beautiful. I'll definitely be finding some inks in my next order.

I now have three Tom's Studio products - a Wren, an Ori and now the beautiful mechanical pencil. I love them all, they are so beautiful, great to use and just fantastic quality. You just know you're going to have them for life. Now I'm buying them for other people. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Purchased two fine nibs - gold and steel - for a year-old Tom’s Studio fountain pen. The nibs inked well and provide a smooth and distinct writing experience. Also purchased two bottles of ink - Marmalade and Espresso - that are true to the online color swatch and look great on good paper. Tom’s Studio’s site makes it easy to order and pay. The items were well packaged and shipped promptly. As a US resident. I appreciate that Tom’s takes the guesswork out of paying tariffs. Also, I really enjoyed the popcorn tea included as a gift with purchase.

Innovative products, great customer service, reasonable shipping charges to the US

Always a good experience from Tom's Studio. I've done like 5 orders now over the years, and they ship things securely and deliver within a reasonable time internationally (to the USA). I love that their packaging is recyclable. Their pens are great quality, which suits me because I try to get things that might last a lifetime. They sell some replacement parts, which I haven't needed to use yet for pens I've had 3+ years, but I'm glad exist.

The pens I have ordered are all excellent. Great ink flow, design and nibs. I like the ink too. I had a question for customer service and they were super helpful and friendly too.

Beautiful fountain pen and semi-flex nib .. and it’s even nicer to write with than it looks (which is saying something !). Arrived promptly in really pretty packaging .. with a surprise complimentary tea included !

I am still waiting for a resolution to my Wren not working. I responded to the email I received but heard nothing further.

Update. I got a follow up that appears to resolve the issues. I appreciate the response but hope they address the issues that sparked the problem in the first place. Note of caution. Not all inks they sell work with all the pens they sell. The information is on the site but not obvious and they don’t warn you if you order a pen and ink together that are not compatible. They are replacing the reservoir and tip that were rendered useless due to using the wrong ink but they are not replacing the full bottle of ink — they are just sending a sample size. I’m still happy with my pen and will order more but with a note of caution for their service and satisfaction priorities.

I heard back, and Tom's is sending a full replacement bottle, not a sample. Great response and very timely. I'm excited to order another pen today.

The limited edition Ori Pickle Pen is hands down one of the funniest and most creative stationery ideas I’ve ever seen! 🥒😂 The moment I saw it, I knew I had to have it. In fact, I loved it so much that I immediately ordered three. One for myself and two for people I love. It brings a smile to my face every single time I use it. 💚✨

The little surprise of the delicious popcorn tea was another wonderful touch. 🍿🍵 It’s these thoughtful details that make every Tom’s Studio parcel feel like opening a carefully wrapped gift.

I have been using products from Tom's Studio since around 2022. While I do have an arts background, I'm currently a primary caregiver, meaning I lately enjoy these tools for more practical pursuits with a few moments of creative use throughout the week. It started with the Studio Fountain Pen (now using three different nib styles and the fun brush tip), then a few Lumos (every tip style has been used and replaced at least once), a pencil grip/point cover (simple/amazing), most of their non-shimmer inks, the Coffee Notes recycled notebooks (fancy feeling), and now the Ori Permanent to hopefully ween me from my beloved Sharpies. I have purchased all of these items with my own money or with gift cards from family members who know I always enjoy an ink top up.

I only have good things to say about shipping. Every box has been delivered surprisingly quickly from the UK to the USA, in protective yet minimal recyclable packaging, and I haven't had anything missing from my orders. Pretty great for overseas shipping from around pandemic time and rolling through to today's, uh, increased global tariff activity (as of this mid-2026 review, the USA tariffs are taken care of at their end, so orders just arrive like regular mainland mail). I once had an incorrect tracking number (I think it was missing the first or last digit), and chatting with customer service was quick and painless. Mildly shipping related, one of my favorite stand alone shops the next state over has started carrying a respectable selection of Tom’s Studio items, so I’m excited to order my next batch of nibs from another small business closer to home! Definite shout out to Tom's Studio for supporting other small businesses.

I'm on the email list, which is refreshingly un-annoying, and because of that I'm especially glad to fill out the occasional surveys that get sent out. Tom's Studio actually seems to update products quite regularly based on feedback (new materials, different nib types, as well as brand new items, e.g. the permanent marker). Listening to customers and attempting to execute reasonable (lol) requests should be a given, but I appreciate being asked directly by businesses who make things they call "tools" and charging accordingly. Tom's Studio products have delivered on both usability and longevity in my everyday life, so I'm very happy to own less items while paying the initial premium--especially when the regular upkeep costs less than the plastic pens I would have previously used.

One of the only criticisms that warrants a mention: some replacement/spare pieces are essentially hidden. For making such a point of saying that these are items we can ‘pass down to grandchildren’, there is no specific place to find tune-up items all in one area. Instead of being categorized under “Nibs & Tips” or “Accessories”, you’ll need to search for “parts” in the search bar to cast a wide enough net to catch anything from a new Wren lid to silicone grease they show in a Studio Fountain Pen video. They *mostly* use the term “Spare” for things like ink reservoirs, and “Replacement” for more permanent items like lids, but it doesn’t seem to be a hard and fast rule since things associated with Lumos are usually just listed as “Lumos - [part name]”. I found my way around this before buying more non-fountain pens, since I’m blessed with ADHD and will totally loose more than one tiny pen cap in my lifetime!! I know myself and prepare accordingly. So, while I am grateful the parts are available as promised, someone less determined (or simply new to the refillable pen world) might think their easily fixable pen is ‘too much trouble’. Less friction adds more value to those on the fence about ditching single-use on subscription.

TL;DR I will undoubtedly continue to purchase accessories, and occasionally new pens, from Tom’s Studio for the foreseeable future. The writing utensils, whether pens or accessories, have all worked as described for years with easy, straightforward care. While it’s a little more effort to find replacement pen parts meant to have a longer lifespan, like lids, they are indeed available, and the same high quality as the original parts. One of my favorite aspects of this company is the ability to customize their writing tools as often, or as little, as you like. With a variety of durable replacement tips at a reasonable price, quick shipping, and excellent customer experience, it’s easy to recommend Tom’s Studio to anyone looking for a new pen for themselves or as a gift.

Tom's are solid writing tools and the company has a good focus on long-term durability. I've been happy with everything I've ordered. Shipping is no longer than expected for coming from outside the US. They aren't cheap, but they are high-quality.
