Worst of the worst

The product itself is buggy and confusing. I had endless problems trying to get it working for my team, and eventually gave up.

Trying to cancel is just as bad. The cancellation process in your account is intentionally broken, so you have to email support. They then force you to jump through hoops (last 4 digits of card, which doesn't even show in your account) and try to get you to fill out another google drive form.

Avoid them at all costs, and watch out for the fake reviews on other sites.

Very disappointed with TimeDoctor’s approach to customer privacy. Sensitive account and billing information was accessible without proper safeguards, and when I raised the issue, support failed to provide a clear explanation or take accountability.

There was no transparency about how the data was exposed and no serious effort to address the privacy risk. For a tool that handles sensitive company information, this lack of responsibility is alarming.

If privacy and data protection matter to you, be cautious.

Serious Security Issue & No Accountability

As a long-time paying customer of TimeDoctor, I’m extremely disappointed. They gave an unknown person access to my account, including invoices and financial data.

When I contacted support, they refused to take responsibility and provided no clear explanation of how this happened. No transparency, no proper investigation, and no compensation — just a simple “your email is updated now.”

A serious security lapse handled very poorly. If you value your data privacy, think carefully before trusting them.

Horrible company

Terrible Experience with Time Doctor Support

In April 2025, I faced a highly frustrating and disappointing experience with Time Doctor — a tool ironically designed to help manage time more effectively. What unfolded revealed serious flaws not only in their software but also in their customer service practices.

The trouble began on Monday, April 14, 2025. I attempted to modify user permissions for one of my team members to prevent her from editing time entries and deleting screencasts. Despite updating the settings multiple times, the system persistently failed to save my changes. I repeated the process at least ten times with no success.

At 10:23 AM on Monday, I contacted Time Doctor support through their live chat. After several automated messages and delays, a representative named Juan Carlos eventually joined the chat at 10:29 AM. I explained that my changes to the user settings were not being saved.

Juan Carlos asked for permission to access my account for troubleshooting, which I granted at 10:40 AM. After some investigation, at 10:53 AM, he confirmed this was a known bug currently under investigation by their Engineering Team. He opened a formal support ticket: Ticket #22405383207. Despite my clear engagement, the chat was abruptly closed at 12:24 PM without true resolution.

Still without a solution days later, I reached out again on Thursday, April 17, 2025.

At 1:24 PM Thursday, I connected with support once more — this time with Mariana Araujo. I restated that the user still had the ability to edit time and delete screencasts — permissions that should have been restricted. Frustratingly, I was again given irrelevant standard links about "How to Edit Time" and "How to Customize Screencasts" — clearly showing a lack of real action.

At 1:26 PM, Mariana admitted that they had replicated the issue internally and escalated it with the "highest priority" to the developers, under the same Ticket #22405383207.

At 1:43 PM, I made my frustration known: I was very unhappy, and Time Doctor was failing to deliver basic reliability. A polite apology followed, but by 2:21 PM, the chat was again closed — with nothing concrete achieved.

Out of sheer necessity, I deleted and recreated the user account entirely. To my shock, after full deletion and re-creation, the exact same permissions problem persisted — the user could still edit time and delete screenshots against my intended settings. Worse, once again, I could not modify these permissions after creation.

At 5:47 AM on Friday, April 18, 2025, I sent a final message expressing my deep dissatisfaction:

"Hi. Shame on this support.
As you did not find a solution, I have gone as extreme as deleting the user and re-creating her account.
After the account is totally deleted and re-created, it seems the user AGAIN has time edit rights, although I did NOT select this option when creating the user.
And AGAIN, I cannot change this.
Wait till you see my public review of Time Doctor."

Only afterward, at 5:48 AM, did I finally receive an apologetic update from Mariana:

"Hi Marc,
I sincerely apologize for the frustration this bug has caused you.
I want to assure you that we received an update today confirming our ETA for the fix deployment is on Monday.
We are fully committed to resolving this issue as quickly and effectively as possible."

Final Thoughts
This experience revealed a severe lack of stability and accountability at Time Doctor.
When a time-tracking platform cannot even manage basic user permissions, and when its support team fails to respond with urgency or effectiveness, it fundamentally undermines the trust professionals place in them.

Good service is not a luxury; it is a timeless expectation.
Business tools must not only function reliably but must be backed by strong, competent, and respectful support. Unfortunately, Time Doctor fell drastically short of these basic, traditional standards.

My support case — Ticket #22405383207 — remains a clear testament to this unacceptable experience.
I share this story so that other businesses — who, like mine, expect professional-grade service and reliability — may tread carefully.

Serious Security Breach & Zero Accountability

I’ve been a paying customer of TimeDoctor for years, but my recent experience has been nothing short of a nightmare.

TimeDoctor gave a random person access to my account, invoices, and financial data.
Yes, you read that right - my confidential billing information was assigned to someone I don’t know, and when I confronted support about it, they refused to take responsibility.

Instead of fixing their mistake, they tried to gaslight me into believing this was "normal" because the unauthorized email was “linked to my account.” How did it get there? Who changed it? Why wasn’t I notified? They won’t say.

What TimeDoctor did wrong:
- Exposed my financial and billing data to a stranger.
- Refused to explain how this happened.
- Ignored my requests for a real solution.
- Offered zero compensation for their mistake.

Their final answer? “Your email is updated now.” No apology. No transparency. Just sweeping a serious security failure under the rug.

⚠️ If you care about your company’s privacy, security, and professionalism, stay FAR AWAY from TimeDoctor. The way they handled this issue shows they cannot be trusted with sensitive data.

Absolutely unacceptable. Avoid at all costs.

Keeps crashing silently when working

Keeps crashing silently when I am working.
Its been months I am having this issue.
They have released updates during that time and I had tried updating to latest versions but issue still persists.
Talked to their support as well but that is of no use.

Basically, they charge for the users in advance for the whole month and not on a daily basis (unlike, for example, Google Business). They don't issue any refunds, refuse to do so.

TimeDoctor has been a disaster

TimeDoctor has been a disaster. I faced random billing charges with no explanation and zero refunds. Customer support? Nonexistent. I even had to cancel my credit card to stop the charges. This feels like a scam. Avoid them if you value your peace of mind.

Scammers!

I started my trial account with this company on last October and at the time I didnt purchased their service.
Yesterday, I went to my account again and when trying to purchase their service, the amount was $100 dollars with $100 discount.
After I clicked the purchase button and after they charged my card the amount was raised to $300 and this is what was taken out of my card.
I have tried right away to cancel the transaction and even opened the chat and spoke with an agent that told me that the $100 discount were not valid anymore and also that $100 was for 1 user, so they decided to charge for 3 users without even having a confirmation checkout for us to see what we are paying.
This agent told me that he was going to cancel my account due to this situation and I thought the money was not even going to be charged from my card.
But today the money was taken from my card, I contacted again via chat and the agent in question (Margaret) told me that they dont do any refunds, which I told her that on the FAQs they have before we make the purchase, which says the following:
"Yes, Time Doctor offers a full refund within the first 30 days of service (service period starts once you become a paying customer after the 14 day free trial.) Refunds requested outside of the first 30 days will be reviewed and assessed for special circumstances including, service interruptions or if you previously requested to cancel your account and it was not deactivated."
After this the agent started playing dumb regarding this question saying that my account was created in October so the refund didnt apply because it had more than 30 days, when it clearly states on the above condition that the service only starts after you become a paying costumer.
I have reported this to my credit card issuer as fraud and cancelled my credit card so I dont have future surprises!
