This app does exactly what it promises- and does so well (how often does that happen?). And every time I have questions (at least 3 times over 12 months) - I've written to customer support and received a reply within 2 hours (also - how often does THIS happen?). Then, the customer service was clear, helpful and accurate. I feel weird writing this review, because I can't really think of another app that is lightweight, user-friendly, priced appropriately and comes with great customer services. It's like it's destined to be obsolete in a minute - but until it is? I'm going to keep using it.

I switched to this app as a free alternative to Clickup maybe and it exceeded expectations. It’s packed with useful features, and there’s a paid version if you need more.

I purchased for my team of 8 for a year with the annual plan and in a short amount of time, I found it did not integrate with Notion. Their version of integrate means you add a chrome extension but you manually have to create the task name, and it doesn't match with projects. It's very manual.

They shouldn't mention that it integrates with Notion, or at least make it clear they don't really talk to eachother.

I asked for a refund since it was such a short amount of time and less than a month, and they said no. So I just want to save you the frustation, and don't waste your time like I did.

I tried Clockify for a very simple use case: time tracking and invoicing in different currencies for different clients. While the UI suggests multi-currency support, in practice, client-level currency assignment is locked behind an upgrade, and this isn’t clearly communicated upfront.

I spent time setting things up only to discover this limitation later. Support confirmed it’s intentional, which makes the product a poor fit for freelancers who just need basic multi-currency invoicing.

Time tracking itself is fine, but the invoicing limitations and unclear UX around currencies make it frustrating. I ended up cancelling and moving to a different tool.

I’ve been using Clockify for a while now, and overall, it’s a genuinely solid time-tracking tool that clearly understands its audience.

One thing I really appreciate is how inclusive it is. The fact that Clockify offers a generous free plan makes it incredibly accessible for hobbyists, freelancers who are just starting out, or even students who simply want to understand how they spend their time. At the same time, it scales well for professionals and teams, with features that actually make sense in real-world workflows. That balance isn’t easy to pull off, but Clockify does it well.

Feature-wise, it’s quite powerful. You can track time accurately, monitor app usage, organize work by projects, and generally keep a clear overview of where your hours go. Whether you’re billing clients, analyzing productivity, or just trying to be more intentional with your time, the tool gives you a lot to work with. From a functionality standpoint, it’s impressive and reliable.

That said, the user interface could use some refinement. While everything is technically there, it’s not always intuitive. Certain actions feel a bit harder than they need to be, and navigating through features can feel slightly overwhelming, even after using it for a while. The dark mode, in particular, needs improvement. It looks decent at first glance, but in practice, it makes it even harder to find things quickly. Some elements lack clarity and make it unnecessarily difficult to find things.

Despite these drawbacks, Clockify is still a very good product. It delivers strong value, especially considering how much you get for free, and it clearly has a lot of thought behind it.

Clockify charged me the wrong tax and the customer service is terrible refusing a refund of my purchase.
I emailed them 1 hour after the incident and they still refusing me to refund the amount.

I can recommend everyone to stay away from cake and Clockify.

I have been using the paid version of Clockify for 2 years, and the application is very cool and bug-free. For better support, I would like to see some additional webhook events.

Great, free product to support small business owners with time and billing. Plus, the customer support agents were very helpful to this free plan user without trying to upsell me!

The support team very knowledgeable and helpful. They suggest product enhancements based on your needs and do so without being prompted.

I’m an IT consultant with very simple time & billing needs. I use a Microsoft Access app I developed decades ago but I’ve always been on the lookout for a time entry app that would work on both my PC and my iPhone and could export the combined data to a file format compatible with my Access system. Clockify not only meets all my needs but it also provides easy-to-use reports that help me stay on top of things throughout the billing cycle. And, best of all, Clockify provides a simple, intuitive, consistent user interface across both platforms! Check it out!

User Friendly and can integrate to our task manager

This is the best app for invoicing from timetracking. It's been 2 weeks of resesrch. But when i reached the customer services it was a nice surprise, since they took really serious my thoughts and advise to make it compatible with the new spanish elctronic invoicing sistem.

Really responsive support, I got in touch to say that the Chrome extension wasn't appearing on a section of the website we use, and within ~6 weeks they had implemented it and got back in touch to let me know.

I bought an annual subscription, expecting a professional solution for time tracking, including overtime management. Unfortunately, the tool lacks core functionality that should be standard in a product of this category and price range.

Main issue:

There is no period-based overtime tracking — meaning no automatic overtime balance for a week, a month, or any customizable period. You only get daily differences, which is not useful in a business context.

While this specific feature wasn’t explicitly advertised on a "customizable period", it’s a standard expectation for any time tracking tool intended for commercial use.
The only way to obtain meaningful figures is by exporting data manually to Excel or CSV and then calculating overtime manually or through scripts — not a viable workflow for ongoing operations.

Support experience:

The support team was polite, but ultimately not effective.
A refund was denied due to “system limitations,” even though I requested it shortly after purchase and clearly explained that the product does not meet our needs.
Instead, I was offered credit toward a future purchase — which is unhelpful once you've already determined (and explained) the product is not fit for purpose.

To be fair, support did point out the trial period and confirmed that they forwarded the requested feature to the product team. However, let’s be honest: I wasn’t looking for a glorified tool to test — I needed a functional solution with basic, expected features. Why trial something that only needs absolutely fundamental capabilities?

Also, I seriously doubt I’m the first person to request this feature, which raises concerns about how feedback is actually handled by their product development team.

I appreciate the respectful communication throughout, but a truly customer-oriented and fair resolution was lacking. For businesses that need structured overtime management (which is nearly every business), I cannot recommend Clockify in its current state.
