THORPE PARK Resort Omdömen 

My family of 5 attended Thorpe Park on Saturday 31/05/2025. Multiple rides broken down, no communication from staff, was in park for 3 1/2 hours and didn't get on a single ride. We just wanted to go home but after approaching guest services was told that no one on site can do a refund. We left early having raised a complaint with customer services, sadly customer services keep offering "62% off gate tickets", which are were only £2.50 cheaper than our advanced tickets. Thorpe Parks answer to the worst day at a theme park ever is to try and get another £125 out of me. I will never be going to Merlin theme parks again!

This was my 2nd time visiting Thorpe park this year.
On my first occasion I had to highlight some concerns with behaviour of other guests and staff and was offered discounted tickets to return. I returned and had a great day in the park itself.

However upon leaving the car park, I heard a stone in my tyre. I naturally assumed it was just in the tread of the tyre and would dislodge as I drove off. A mile or so down the road my tyre was completely flat and the stone that I thought was in my tread, had actually pierced the tyre completely. Being 100 miles from home I had no option but to pay £260 for a new tyre in order to get home.
I emailed through to customer services in the hope that we could sort something out. I proved that the stone was from their car park, issued pictures of the stone which was the sharpest stone I’d ever seen and asked what could be done. Initially I was told that the park only accepted damage caused by the park or their staff. When I provided the evidence of it being the park as the car park is gravel, the next person advised that they took no responsibility and I would have had to speak to staff. I explained why I didn’t speak to staff but in checking the CCTV you would see me stop to hear the stone.
I was met with the least customer service response I’ve ever received. No offer of compensation, no apology, nothing.

Having had issues twice on my visits, I don’t think I would recommend the park to anyone and would urge you to take caution on where you park, especially given that you pay for the car park on site.

Thorpe Park have stolen my husbands mobile phone. I have cancer so he needs it back. The incompetent idiots won't return it😢

Only letting elite pass people on for 20 mins. 35 min queue have been 50 because of ONLY letting the queue jump passes on. I have paid good money and I'm equally entitled to go on the rides.
Update 1hr waiting they let 47 pass holder to the front of the queue before letting 1 nonplussed holder through. More rubbish from the park of jokes... been in a 10 min queue for 45 mins. Now the rides is broken with people on it and message is that there will be a short delay no apology or update from the staff.. Poorly managed.

And finally got stuck on SAW for 20min. Also no apologies.

I had a cancer diagnosis in January 2025. Major DIEP flap reconstruction after mastectomy surgery 7 weeks ago. I just spoke to Thorpe park and asked if they could give me a free pass so I can take my son and his 3 friends for his birthday. I said that i will only be able to sit in a cafe for the day as medically not allowed on any rides. It's a huge thing fro me to drive the boys from Somerset as it is! Offered to share my medical notes etc as proof. Also, explained that I only want a pass for myself and will be paying for 4 teenagers.
Unbelieveably, they came back with a 'no'. If it wasn't for the fact that it's my son's birthday party (a kid that has gone through hell of late), i would NEVER be going to, and giving my money to this place. UNBELIEVABLE.

The stay at the shark cabins was awful they are just small shipping containers and you are all on top of each other. The ladder to the bunk beds is right next to the double bed and it’s dangerous if you get up in the night and trip over it. Kids can’t even sit up in these beds unless there very young. The shower literally steams the whole place up and makes everything wet and the reception staff are rude. We couldn’t get in our room so went to them for help and literally got told to stand to the side while they served other people before they got a screwdriver to change the batteries in the door all this after the parks shut. The bed sheets were disgusting and had yellow stains on and you make a complaint and there not interested.

terrible experience we stayed at the shark cabins and were told we could order food in, were not told that the security would then take all the food out of the bag while ripping the bag to search it, which meant we then had to walk back to the cabins with hot food trays without a bag.
the staff are terrible with the exception of the breakfast staff at the Vibe they went above and beyond to help everyone.
everytime you go to your car or go out to get food you and your bags get searched and they dont take care while doing it either.
when staying at the shark cabins you get told the bonus is that you are able to be at the front of the queues as your already in the park, what they also dont tell you is that you need to leave the main park to go and join a queue to get your RAP card and then you have to queue up to get back into the park so your well behind the others in the queues already.
bottle of water £4, pint of lager £7.50, Chips £7 and if you want a small hand of cheese thats an extra £3. what a joke
drove 600 mile round trip for this never again much rather go to Alton Towers

Please see my more in depth review on trip advisor I'm SelMG on there because I don't understand the bad reviews, we had an amazing time yesterday, managed ALL the roller coasters apart from Stealth which we knew was closed. The staff were largely very cheerful, you always get a few who just choose not to smile, thier choice really, we had the pleasure of Tommy and a colleague from VIP area first thing and they honestly made our day one which we will never forget!!
Hyperia is something else, everyone should experience it, The Swarm was one of my favorite rides, we were there all day and can't wait to return.

Disappointed with Security, Ride Operations, and Discrimination at the Park

Our visit started on a bad note when security stopped my friend at the entrance, wrongly assuming he had drugs — which was absolutely not the case. It was an unfair and humiliating experience right from the beginning.

We arrived very early to avoid queues, but were still met with unprofessional behavior.

After entering, I went on a few rides like Nemesis and Saw with no issues. However, when I tried Samurai, although I fit into the test seat with no problems, the ride operator didn’t even attempt to secure the restraint and told me to get off. He later admitted he could have used the sensor to confirm the fit, but chose not to — a lazy and dismissive response that left me feeling unfairly targeted.

At The Swarm, I was told I couldn’t ride despite having ridden it last year at a heavier weight. The restraint had locked, but the ride host — who was significantly shorter than me — couldn’t secure the seatbelt. It felt more like a physical mismatch than a real safety concern. The same thing happened on Vortex: the test seat gave me the green light, yet I was still told I couldn’t ride. Strangely, I had no problems at all on Rush or Quantum.

After lunch, we continued with our day and queued for Detonator. Shockingly, security approached and dragged us off the ride in front of everyone, claiming two of my friends were drunk and had drugs. This was completely false. They were strip-searched and humiliated, made to feel small and embarrassed in public. Meanwhile, other guests who were clearly intoxicated were still being served alcohol freely without issue.

We spent over £700 on this visit, only to be treated with suspicion, shamed, and discriminated against. From the moment we arrived, it felt like security and some staff had a personal issue with us.

This park claims to offer a welcoming and inclusive experience — but our experience was the complete opposite. I strongly advise others to think twice before visiting. No one should have to feel degraded, embarrassed, or unfairly judged in a place meant for enjoyment.

I got turned away from the Toller coasters for having the wrong body shape 6ft 3 and 19.5 stone
Too big for the rides.
Not impressed as unable to use the 6 fast track rides we paid for as my teenage daughter won't do the rides alone.
Booked an overnight stay and will not be returning

Very incompetent security. Was being scrutinised for smoking my medication at my house in the morningwhich I’m legally perscribed.I did not come with it but was still denied entry and refused a refund on my girlfriends birthday. I will never be coming back to this place again. It’s sad because I used to enjoy this place growing up but sadly can’t due to incompetent staff especially the security manager.

Thorpe Park somehow became a festation a wider societal issues, whereby rude igorant people walk around and do as they wish with weak security who scared of their own shadows.
My teen daughter was insulted by a plump middle aged women -white- who shamelessly dragged her shocked primary aged child with her whilst kicking down the toilet door where my daughter went into. Have to say there was other cubicles available but for her ‘she’ somehow thought it is her right to decide who goes where when nature calls. Disgusting illiterate women could not find words to explain her actions and choose to walk away, once she relived the stress of her day on an innocent teen- whilst security guard scooped his head back and watched!! Police should have been called it is absolutely unacceptable behavior!!!

Hyperia was getting stuck on its lift hill and all the people with a fast track was getting on there was like 2 people from the normal que geting on at a time thorp park needs to make the sistem more fair let a few fast track on at a time might fix this problem

Had a good day wait times low, all rides except samurai running, had such a good day think the weather helped.
Got to ride stealth,saw and hyperia twice.

The rides were honestly overall amazing although i went a while ago i still recall all of the super things like most of the staff were really funny and kind but the queue...not so great ,took quite a long time but i think its worth it when you finally go on the ride. Some were scary ,some not so scary and also i dont think the height limit were the most appropriate thing but oh well. Great! 3 stars

We went here on opening day March 28th 2025; what a disappointment. Most of the rides were out of order for longer than an hour, most notably Hyperia. Throughout the day Saw, Colossus, Walking Dead and The Swarm were consistently closed. In the queue for The Swarm the ride shut down with no explanation. The person operating the ride in the booth was clearly frustrated at her colleagues and was gesturing out of the window. The colleagues on the ground had no idea what was going on and would not communicate with the customers on what was happening, it was like they wanted to keep whatever happened a secret. The ride eventually reopened for one turn, then immediately closed again. The whole park in effect appears run by juniors with no management understanding or confidence.

Hyperia broke down several times and then permanently, one train was stuck sticking out of the loading dock (if that’s what you call it) and the other was stuck behind it, outside of the dock full of passengers who couldn’t get off for a long time. Colossus broke down while going up the track, people had to be evacuated from the ride at height. The Walking Dead, when it eventually opened, what can I say, what an absolutely awful, hashed together experience that was along the same lines as a fairground ghost train from 1996. If you like Halloween props from PoundLand, you’ll love this.

The park in general hasn’t changed in 20yrs. It looks like the owners have lost the love for it and it’s just a money grab now where they know people will come regardless. The themed lands look dirty, worn out and the magic has gone. The themed music in the lands was non-existent or low volume, there were no props, there were no people employed by the park there to increase the experience. At entry of around £50 per person, plus a parking charge, plus extortion for frozen cooked food, I can’t see any of it being invested back.

Due to only being able to get on about 3 rides all day, we requested a Return Guarantee so we may change our view of the park at a later date and hope that this day was just a rare disappointment but, the person we have emailed has been abrupt and is refusing this, which contradicts the Return Guarantee, and clearly is not worth the paper it’s written on. Unfortunately this just backs up that this place is a cash grab, no customer experience, no customer satisfaction.

Sad as this place used to be great.

Awful and unfair customer service..
My daughter went there for her birthday and could not get on rides for to them constantly being shut down.. they would not even offer a ONE ride fast track to a ride she queued for hours only to end up not getting on! We travelled hrs to ride a particular ride and they won't rectify it. I'm disgusted in their responses. Don't waste your time.. go to Alton towers!

The rides are brilliant but very unreliabe as collossus and hyperia both shut while I was waiting in the queue for over 40 min which turned out to ruin my day

Thorpe park is a great day out for all the family, I have had great times visiting Thorpe park, has a merlin pass holder i get to experience the joys of merlin owned attractions and I'm never disappointed I always have a great time here, queue can be long but the experience of the rides are well worth it.

Crap and ride availability crap. 4 major rides down most the day and other rides all over 90 mins
