I can honestly say that what I received from The Somatic School changed my life and now is changing many of my clients’ lives.

I had a lovely experience here. This program is highly experiential (exactly what I was looking for), and paced well. Paul was an excellent teacher and demonstrator, and we all felt in good hands throughout. Very well thought out curriculum, great boundaries, very little woo woo, and I felt comfortable using every tool.
I didn’t find there was a lot of knowledge around trauma (my personal and educational background), and I would really like to see more of this incorporated, as so much of this work sits along trauma work. I think there is a fear around working outside of the lines of coaching, but I think there is a way to do it so that we are particularly mindful of/supportive of individuals with traumatic histories, without breaching any ethical boundaries. There’s a lot of good to be done here I believe. After completing my certification, I went back for their Group Coaching cert, which was also fabulous. Having trained with a number of coaching providers over the years, I can honestly say The Somatic School stands out as exceptional.

The Body-Oriented Coaching Diploma has fundamentally changed the way I coach, helping me move beyond conversation alone and work with the wisdom of the whole person.

The training strikes a rare balance between being deeply experiential and grounded in neuroscience, psychology and evidence-based practice. Every module built naturally on the last, with plenty of opportunity to practise, receive feedback and integrate the learning.

The quality of the teaching is outstanding. The trainers create an environment that feels both safe and appropriately challenging, embodying the very principles they teach. I had a super meaningful experience with the body-oriented coaching course at The Somatic School. The training was focused and well held, with teachers who brought a lot of care, presence, and attunement to the space... it felt like a space where I could really develop as a coach, while also engaging in my own process because the course in itself was very experiential which is a mode of learning I value immensely.

There was a strong sense of connection throughout the course, both with the facilitators and the group, which made the whole experience so beautiful. From the very start it was a welcoming, inclusive and supportive environment that allowed the whole group to instantly connect. The modules were not only enjoyable but hugely informative, offering a mix of theory, science, literature and practical examples/demonstrations. The amount of information packed into this course is enormous but it is all taught in a way that makes it feel manageable so you are able to integrate it fully. I am grateful to have been taught by Nathan (who is incredible!) and for now having the somatic tools to share with clients, as the impact they have within a session is actually mind-blowing! An incredible course that was been crafted with so much intention, purity and deep knowledge and wisdom. From day 1 you feel so well taken care of from all the staff at the Somatic School (even though the school is entirely online). The course itself gives you so much knowledge and tools to use in your coaching practice, but also becomes a journey of personal discovery. It's hard to put into words how much I got from the Body-Oriented Coaching training offered by The Somatic School. Yes, there is a long list of body-centred coaching techniques, the process map, and the foundational coaching skills. Yet, there are also all the subtle ways I have been challenged to put aside everything I thought I knew and bring my beginner's mind to learn how to learn anew; in the way that is embodied, that leans into and nurtures the curiosity, the way that fosters the aliveness. I learned that tending to these qualities is what ultimately cultivates the presence that holds the space for shifts and changes to occur in both the context of coaching relationships and our personal lives. Everything, from the structure of the course modules to the ongoing support through the invaluable Organic Intelligence Labs, to the mentoring process and so much more contributed to this learning. As a bonus, I gained a new, incredible community to be a part of and continue sharing my journey with for years to come.
The only suggestion I have for the school is to consider extending the course to the whole year, giving even more time for the integration of each Module so that, them being as rich as they are, there is more space for it to be practised and absorbed. Thank you The Somatic School!

The Somatic School gave me the tools and understanding to not only become aware of my own bodies needs, but how to coach others to experience the magic of their own internal resources. I am so glad I decided to start my journey as a somatic coach, or a "somanaut" as they say at the somatic school, here with them. While the somatic school does plenty of things right and has a really complete and competent curriculum, one of my favorite things about this certification program, and which I would like to distinguish is the cohort sizes, which are between 12 and 14 I believe.Through 6 months you will see each other develop into somatic coaches, practice with each other, witness each other, have a profound experience together and come into relationship with each other, which is all supported by a solid learning framework and really great trainers. This means you have plenty of access both during the module weekends as well as some additional calls to the trainers, also due to the moderate cohort sizes. At the same time, the somatic school community is large and also has plenty to offer in terms of varying cultural, national, and professional backgrounds, once you are going through or have completed a training. Truly a joy to be a part of.

This is a wonderful course to add somatic tools to your coaching, but it's also a transformative life experience. I learned as much from the way it was taught than from the content and experiential practice. There's not a lot of history or theory, so it really allows for you to get out of your head and into your body. Great reading lists point you to do more research on your own in case you have an intellectual side that desires it, but the class time itself is left light, free and hands-on so that you can truly connect with an embodied experience and learn "bottom up." One of the most satisfying learning experience of my life, and the first time from pre-K to Ph.D. that I felt 100% resonant with everything taught.
