Normally when you plan something you get to pick 2 from on time, on budget, on spec. However with The Solar Co they proved to be the exception and you get all three.

I am beyond impressed, every interation I've had with them from initial meeting and survey with drone to get an accurate plan of the roof, through quote and detailed explanation of it and options available to the actual install has surpassed my wildest expectations based on previous interactions with other tradesmen.

The team that turned up to do the install reflected the interations I had with the company up to this point, they were professional, quick and tidy and more impressively, proud of the work they did producing an install that you would expect to see as a show install.

As you go through life there are company contacts that you pickup that you would use again or reccomend to family and friends... this is such a company.

Looking for a solar installer can be a bit of a minefield, and despite The Solar Co not being exactly local to Surrey, they had great reviews, good accreditation with the professional bodies (MCS and HIES), and most importantly were immediately responsive and keen to quote. George did a detailed survey on site (using a drone to get a good aspect on the roof) and modelled an installation to make the best of a complex roof surface which Octopus' own installers wouldn't consider. The proposal was extremely professionally presented with multiple options, in line with the MCS's best principles, and it was competitively priced against other installers whose proposals were entirely assessed remotely, based on a combination of Google and my own photography - no substitute for The Solar Co's in person approach. The timescale from survey to installation was impressively short, and all went to plan. The installation team overseen by Mark arrived on time, and were unfailingly friendly and efficient. The whole job was done in a day (14 panels, inverter, a Zappi and a large 15.5kWh battery) and the cabling is a work of art - I can see why other reviews highlight the neatness, and I'm very proud to show the setup off to visitors! Since the installation, Mark and George have both helped with questions and configuration of the inverter, and have delivered all the relevant documentation including certification and DNO notification and G99 application, enabling me to apply for an export tariff. Overall a very positive experience with full service, and I would encourage anyone a for a reliable and efficient solar installer in the London area (and beyond) to get in touch with Mark and George.

George, Mark and the team were awesome. Despite the worst weather the British summer could throw at then they delivered - all installed amazingly neatly despite complexity of the existing system. They kept us updated as the project progressed and was all at a very reasonable price.

Within 48 hours of contacting them, they were at our property giving us a thorough site survey, and then within a few days more a full quote. They understood the slight complexity of our set up and quickly came up with solutions to overcome any issues. They kept us informed every step of the way. The team that came to install the panels were on time, efficient and friendly. And a big shout out to Dan the electrician who went above and beyond to ensure the wiring, electrics and fuse board the best and safest it could be.

George and his team did a really excellent, precise and comprehensive job for us of fitting solar panels and an EV charger. Competitive rates and especially great communication. Highly recommmend.

Solar co installed our system last year. 17 panels, 2 batteries and a zappi car charger. Their prices seemed reasonable and in line with competitors.
The installers arrived at the stated time and worked hard to ensure the entire installation was done in one day. The guys were polite , tidy and hard working.
The system needed an update on the software and this was done the following day. The system has been working well with the battery back up allowing us to store excess for the following night.

The Solar Co installed panels and batteries for my house. My electricity bill has gone from £442 last April 2023 (I know) to under £40 in April 2024.

I reached out to them as they were (1) local to where I reside (2) reviews were overwhelmingly positive. I’m pleased to say my experience matched this.

After an initial consultation call, George modelled out what size system would be needed based on my actual usage, the ROI based on different battery set ups and how long it would take to break even. It depends on a lot of variables, but for me, it’s around five years.

Installation was done around six weeks later. Took a few days, and we opted for the panels to be integrated. Despite the cost, very happy with the decision as they look awesome.

They advised on the tariff to maximise our return based on having two EVs.

We actually got air con installed alongside it, by their sister company. Also very positive and now we are ready for some decent weather.

George and Mark were decent chaps and would recommend using them.

I chose the Solar Co for a relatively large solar (10kWp) and battery (10kW) installation on my house and outbuilding following a comprehensive search for local installers and having read their excellent reviews. I have been delighted with the service I have received and the quality of the install.

Communications with George and Mark have been first rate from initial discussion, through the design and install process to post-commissioning. The options were clearly explained and detailed costings and savings were provided.

The install team were great - friendly, professional, tidy and efficient. We even got a few house repairs included in the work. There were one or two complications with the install but there was no moaning from the team - they just got on with it.

The system has been operating without problem for a few weeks and we've barely used any grid electricity - couldn't be happier and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Solar Co.

We've been considering installing solar for a while and final decided to get some quotes. We selected the Solar Co as one of four firms to get a quote from. The quote was very competitively priced, but also for a larger system than the other quotes.

Really can't recommend George and the team enough. They have been both quick and responsive to the many questions I have raised. The install itself was done very quickly and to a very high standard with the finish being really neat and tidy. I was especially impressed that George was on site to monitor progress, both with the install itself, but also the erection of the scaffolding.

They have also been super quick with processing the paper work to allow us to get on to an export tariff to make the most out of our new system.

In November 2023 George and Mark added a second Sunsynk battery to my system which I had installed in May 2023. I got a great price from them and they immediately identified that my system, which is in my loft, had not been mounted on a non combustible surface and a fire alarm hadn’t been fitted. They then mounted everything onto cement board, fitted an alarm and also boxed in the batteries and added a tube heater to ensure it would run properly in the cold roof space. They did a great job and left no mess. After adding the new battery my system has run perfectly with no problems. They were both very professional and were very supportive when I had a strange problem with my bank. They are both lovely guys and I couldn’t recommend them more.

Competitive quote and the works were done in a day including panels, battery and EV charger. George has kept in contact and recently reconnected the app. Overall very happy with the service.

I was aware of Mark and the Solar Co from a prior air conditioning installation and as the two systems can work so well together, I decided to commission a solar report & site visit with Mark & George. I was impressed with how knowledgeable they were about products, tariffs and the minimal disruption of the installation. The work was completed by Mark, George, Ashley and their electrician who were a great team who just got on with it and finished in one day with minimal disruption as promised and left everything clean and tidy too. The system is so easy to monitor from an app within minutes (and can be addictive watching the solar energy being produced!). We have almost halved our electricity bills and that is only in the last few autumn months! I have no hesitation recommending you use this company for any solar panel work or indeed air conditioning!

I wouldn’t normally bother to write a review for anything. But in this case when your paying out so much money for a solar installation, it might really help someone to select a team that actually do know what they are doing. I’ve been in electronics and computing for over 40 years, and I knew exactly what I wanted and how I wanted it fitted, the reason I wanted someone else to fit it, was I wanted to save all that VAT. It took me over 10 months to find some able to put in what I wanted and feel confident that they really understood the kit that they were fitting, a lot of the people you find out there are just fitting the kit by following a set procedure and really don’t understanding why certain things need doing , and if it goes wrong it can easily end up being bodged, and you won’t know if its been bodged, you may just end up with an under performing system with faults all the time, but at worst case it could be dangerous, incorrectly fitted panels can be a major fire hazard it will cost you a lot more to get it fixed than to have it done properly. I really do recommend that you get these guys in to help you decide if it’s the right thing for you, they are not going to tell you to fit anything unless it would be worth you spending the money. After sitting down with them you will soon tell that they are the right people for the job, I can’t stress it enough, ‘they know what they are doing!’ it’s a big investment so invest in the right people for the job

The Solar Co were efficient and helpful throughout our design and installation process. The installation team was good. The work was done neatly and the system has been performing well. George and Mark listened to our particular requirements and proposed a solution that suited our needs well. Our installation was quite large and complex so unsurprisingly there were a few minor issues during the work but George and Mark are both very knowledgeable and dealt with the issues quickly and without any fuss. We are very pleased with the result and thoroughly recommend The Solar Co.

Where to start. I could not recommend this company enough, Exceptional from start to finish. The survey was great and the simulation tool is amazing, the work attention to detail is absolutely spot on, Once the work is completed you can also rely on their aftercare support. All round great company.

Great service from Mark and his team, from quote through to installation of the panels and batteries, would highly recommend these guys. They really know their stuff and gave us a great deal. I wasn't sure whether converting to solar would be the right move for us, but the calculations convinced me and so far so good. After 3 months, already seeing the cost savings predicted.
