Great service - discovered some great music from these and very diverse choices. My one suggestion would be to have a upvote/downvote function so that the team can gradually understand our likes/dislikes more and more.

Unfortunately I am still waiting for my first extra vinyl as part of a promotional offer. Received it the second time, but having problems getting help from the support team (understandably during COVID restrictions, etc)

Did a gift vinyl box for my husband (who, I feel necessary to mention, works in the music industry and has a REALLY difficult and acquired taste in music; owns over 4000 vinyls, and loves music immensely).
Not only were the picks - to quote him - amazing, excellent, and "can hardly wait to play them"; but the entire thing was packed perfectly and in fully mint condition.
Now I'm sure if the follow-up packs will have the same effect - we're becoming full-time users!

I had been looking at the retro for a while thinking whether to take the plunge and after throwing a few questions to the guys, the responses I got back made me confident it was worth a try.

Even enough to try 6 months of all 4 subscriptions next to each other.

The boxes come well packaged and on time and the retro communicate everything to you excellently.

The items might not always be your cup of tea but half of the enjoyment is waiting to open the parcels when they arrive.

I would definitely recommend the service to anyone who fancies something new and hopefully getting something they wouldn't normally go for.

In the parcels I have had so far there have been a couple of albums I already owned but I was happy to replace them with the ones from the retro store as they where much better condition. Only one so far that I would not have bought myself but very pleased with the service provided. Thank you

Full marks. Quality product. Responsive customer service. Of course, you never know what you'll get in your record bundle that month, but that's the point, to expand your knowledge and find gems, or a bit of nostalgia.

Really disappointed with the customer service. They are a small team, which is fine, but not to have issues sorted over a three-month span is unacceptable.

Then there are the records. Most of the record I have received have ranged from blah to ugh. I don't care about the value of the records but I was so hoping for some cool discoveries in the genres I like. Instead, I've received a number of, for lack of a better expression, bargain-bin stuff.

I checked the prices on discogs to see if my suspicions were true. And yep: the last two orders I've received both followed the same formula: two records available for under £1, one for £6, one for £8. For a £30 subscription (£60 for the pair) that's awful value, and honestly it feels like they're being bulk bought from somewhere like eBay then just dolled out however, with little care or thought to the subscriber.

A subscription box should either offer value, gems you can't get elsewhere, or a level of personal investment that, though you're spending more than normal, you feel like you're getting things curated to fit your taste.

This offers none of the above.

A real shame and a great disappointment -- was purchased as birthday gift for the year but have decided to scrap it to save the person the money and me having to feign excitement.

Save your money and just go and buy a record of your choice per month.

I was sent the first issue of Doop in this months delivery, a hilarious little character I would never have discovered if not for The Retro, brilliant box this week, very entertaining and I cant wait for next months!

Updated review: After my complaint, they contacted me within a couple of weeks to apologies and they sent out three more vinyls + a cookie which was nice of them. Customer service is very good.

Original review: I ordered a one off gift order for Father’s Day. I chose Ska music, 80’s pop and 80’s rock. The only vinyl my dad received that was true to this info was a sticky fingers with a few live concert songs on it - not even an album. He received a Marilyn Manson vinyl and a cliff richard vinyl in an Elaine Paige sleeve. Considering how expensive this was I am shocked that my dad received what could be found for a few pounds in a charity shop. £40!!!!

Absolutely nailed in this month. One great album from the Waterboys. One EP from a new group I've not heard of and an LP of something I'd never have looked at from the 70s Or perhaps better put as something I love, something to find out more about and something to challenge and find (old) new listening.

Yeah, 3 good lps in good condition. Nils Lofgren, The Beatles and Mike Oldfield.

Unique service. Bought comic subscription for any brother who loved them. Totally worthwhile.

Really happy with the selection of records given. Well packaged and arrived in perfect condition.

Had two of the vinyl boxes so far, I got these to try and find bands outside of my usual bands but in the same kind of area, mainly 70s and 80s rock and some Indie. I like the fact you can adjust the boxes to your taste. So far I have found a couple of bands I hadn't heard of, one fairly new and kne from the early 80s that had escaped my notice.

Really pleased so far (and I do have to hide the included sweet from my kids!)

Finally received my box after 11 working days not the 3-5 they stated. Sending a £29.99 box of vinyl by 2nd class is pretty poor in my opinion. What a rubbish selection of crap! Elaine Paige!! Really? Can just about tolerate Johnny Mathis and Foreigner. The box was so late that the coupon they put in is 9 days out of date! Save your money and buy vinyl you’ll actually appreciate

I had my first order come on Wednesday ! but missed the post so It came on Friday instead. Saturday morning was the day that I put them on to spin and all I can say is WOW ! and looking forward to my next lot. Great first lot.
