The Film Safe is an Independent Film Developing Lab based in Southampton, UK. It is run by Hope and Jack, the founders of the company in 2021. Our services include: Film developing of C41 and Black and White 35mm and 120 film, scanning at low, medium, high JPEG and high TIFF file sizes on professional Noritsu scanners, printing of 6x4 images on a professional DNP printer and light retouching of images to give you the best possible images back. We also sell a small selection of 35mm films both colour and black and white and a range of merchandise including T-Shirts, stickers, caps and totes. As a lab, we understand that it is not the most eco-friendly service but we take every measure we can to make our services as eco-friendly as possible including eco assured packaging, getting our chemicals removed safely, recycling packaging and giving back 3% to an eco conscious charity - Coral Gardeners alongside the other incredible charties, CALM and Alzheimers Research UK. We work on a 3 day turnaround for colour films and a 5 day turnaround for black and white films and are constantly looking at ways of expanding and improving our services. We wanted to make a lab that was friendly and approachable for the film community, offering advice and support for all things film related. We run a Discord channel where we can be contacted at any time of the day as well as a separate support email to help filter our emails.

Super speedy!
I ordered develop only as I wanted to be sure my pictures were okay before paying for scans, and I’m so pleased with the speed of the service! My negatives were back within a week and I didn’t even order fast track! I’m pleased as always about the service and will be back again.

Brilliant service for my old films
I sent some very old rolls of film to The Film Safe and the whole experience was excellent. They explained the process clearly before I created my order, and really put me at ease about trusting them with something irreplaceable. The scans came back looking great and the service was professional from start to finish. I’m very happy and would definitely use them again.

Excellent service from the Film Safe
Excellent service from the Film Safe. I have sent them several rolls of film so far and I will keep using them. They are managing to keep costs affordable and provide a speedy service - they tell you when you can expect to receive your scans and so far they have always hit the earliest of their estimated dates. Very happy with the images. I like to support a small company that is supporting the film photography community and I wish them well.

Well priced, quick turnaround and great quality!
I've had many experiences with other companies and by far this has been hands down the best. I'm very impressed with the quick turnaround but the quality of the images too is brilliant. I will be using these guys again.
