Tates Omdömen 

In May 2023, I purchased a DS7 from Tates Garage with an extended warranty. However, I have since encountered several issues with the vehicle, including frequent faults with the Automatic Braking System and Cruise Control. I reported these issues to Tates Garage, but they have been unable to repair the vehicle on multiple occasions. As a result, the matter is currently under review by the Ombudsman, as I have exhausted all other options.
Glenn, Operations Director, has stated that Tates Garage does not have a legal obligation to repair the vehicle. This has left me deeply disappointed with the service I have received from the start. It has been over 14 months since I first reported the issues, and despite my efforts, Glenn has advised me to take the vehicle to a local dealer, promising not to contribute to any costs incurred.
I urge customers to be aware of this situation and to consider alternative garages if they are dissatisfied with the service they receive.

My car went in to Citroen with suspected BCM issues (diagnosed at another garage), and it really did look like worst case scenario. Being an older 2011 Citroen C3, I was advised by others to cut my losses and scrap it, but it's a great little car and never really given me trouble. Phoned Citroen who offered to do the full diagnostic before I made my decision to fix it or trade in. My appointment was a few weeks away, but they kindly contacted me when they had a cancellation so got in nice and early. They even let me drop it off the day before as my wipers were not working and we were due heavy rain. Steve Coppard done a full diagnostic and health check and turned out, it was the fuse box. The part was ordered quickly, and my car was back on the road in no time. Such a small thing and easily solvable! Can't believe it wasn't picked up before I saw Steve at Citroen. He took his time to do a full health check on it, offer invaluable advice, did the work for a really reasonable price and kept me informed the whole way. He is just a super nice chap and can't help you enough. The car also come back completely valeted, which was a really nice surprise, so that really was the cherry on top. Thanks Steve for the 5 star service from start to finish...I'm really glad I visited and incredibly happy to be back on the road. Car is as good as new, and I am one happy customer.

I would have given 5 stars but for the fact my wing mirrors are now no longer closing on locking the car - not sure why, they were fine before. No doubt it's a simple fix but I don't know what it is...

Had a good experience no problems pleased with car and the help we received

I asked twice to be updated after being informed extra work was needed following a service. Long story short I had to call them at the ends of day 2 and day 3 to get updates. And the problem has still not been fixed. Simple texts or short phone calls would have made all the difference. Ps also had to inform them that two of their phone numbers on their own website weren't correct.

I recently purchased a vehicle from tates and the customer service I received from James was brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. Great contact throughout, I came across a discrepancy on a car check that I had done and emailing James straight away about the issue I got a rapid response from him and the matter was resolved quickly and I was made to feel at ease.
I would definitely recommend tates!

Sales people are great, the after service and service department are terrible, they don’t honour the service agreement or warranty, if anything goes wrong , they want £125 to put the vehicle on the computer, they always blame you for any issues ,so they don’t have to pay out on repairs, regardless of warranty or service plan . You then have to pay £125 and cost to repair the vehicle.

They will lie to your face , I spoke to Citroen and they confirmed tates, had not even contacted them regarding the issue, however the service department said they’re talking to Citroen regarding the charge , but they just lied about all off it. We are on your side the service chap said, complete lies , he didn’t even contact Citroen , easier to charge me, their service plans and warranty is a joke . Heard to the same from many people do not buy from tates. If you break down , which my new unreliable Citroen has done, they never have a courtesy car and the wait is always 3/4 weeks to be seen, get more staff , and honest staff .

Normally I give 5 stars for service, have done for years however on the last occasion the service was so poor I rated Tate's 1 star ( on Trustpilot for all to read) ).
We want criticism good or bad your led to believe.
Today I contacted Tate's as my car is due for a service and MOT.
I was told in no uncertain terms by the director that I have been blacklisted that I and my vehicles are not welcome and even though I have a pre payment plan for servicing I was told it would not be honoured and to look elsewhere.
So the lesson of the story is yes they want your money are happy to take it but dare to complain and your told your banned from all Tate's dealerships.
I'm sure the response will be careful thought out making me the big bad customer but 27 years as a Tate's customer tells a different story.

The response from Tate's is exactly as expected nothing new there.

Very patient sales staff. Test drived 2 cars, coming away still not sure. Offered a follow up service to try and find the specific car ( colour and interior) we were looking for.

Had a light telling me the car was overheating. I was told by Tait's to not use it, the car was then booked in for repair two and a half weeks later. Car delivered to Tait's, by RAC as arranged they then a further 19 days in the workshop, to fix an actuator on the Water Pump. Without doubt the worst experience I have ever encountered from any dealership. A Near 50K car that has been off the road for five weeks to repair a water pump. There were other issues but I couldn't be bothered to follow up as Tait's had already broken me. Really at a loss to understand how this company is in business, utter disgrace.
P.S. Cant believe I have to give one star!

Amazing. The team are always so professional and helpful. I had problems with a car I purchased from an online dealership.
Tates have completed all the repairs for me and helped me every step of the way in getting my money back from the warranty company.
They couldn’t have done more to help me. This wasn’t their problem to help me and they have gone above and beyond.

I highly recommend this garage. I go there for all servicing and MOT.

The actual buying process was good, but one thing lets it down was the after sale documentation side. We had to chase them up several times to get the warranty documentation send to us, it took nearly two months to receive the paperwork. Also the sale manager did not return our calls as requested to discuss the problem, instead we got his minion taking his call which was not reassuring.

From placing order for my new car I was kept up to date to what was happening. I was informed how long I would have to wait.
Craig was always helpful and polite. Couldn't fault him.

Nice people to buy a car from. Ian Stocks was the salesman I dealt with. Very nice to deal with and professional. Haven't bought a new car for many years, and loved the fact it was covered up when I arrived, and was then unveiled. Nice touch.
