Talyllyn Railway Omdömen 

I had a fantastic day on Talyllyn railway with my family of 6. At a cost of £66 for a trip along the whole line for all 6 of us It was a bargain, even more so when you factor in the £5 drinks voucher.

For me what made it the biggest bargain was that the same family of 6 would have to have paid £126 for the same length of ride in coaches which where not as nice on the Ffestiniog Railway.

As a driver on another heritage railway, and steam enthusiasts. I think Talyllyn system for a steam railways in the age of covid is the gold standard of how to do it!

I’d also like to thank the guard on the 14:10 train on Tuesday the 29th of September, as my 2 year old nephew had a little accident after picking up a hot drink. She was so helpful, understanding and sprinted to get ice for him. He left the railway non the worse for ware and with a big smile on his face, like the rest of us :)

Brilliant day out, felt safe, staff were helpful and knowledgable, even the terrible weather didnt spoil the day. Covid precautions are all spot on.

Took my family of five on another trip on the Talyllyn Railway, booked the tickets on line and we were given a compartment. As usual the staff were lovely, polite, friendly and extremely helpful. I would highly recommend the experience

We enjoyed the trip very much! The train was clean, the views were stunning and the journey was pleasant. Our daughter , 6 years old, enjoyed the trip as well and she recognised some features from Thomas the tank engine stories that she loves very much. We highly recommend the trip to everyone!

Fantastic railway with a special feel and people. One round trip and three meals in kings - and all in complete safety given current circumstances. Thanks to everyone involved! Diolch!

Excellent visit. A good website made it easy to book in advance. We were greeted in person on arrival and the staff we encountered were helpful. The train journey was particularly enjoyable - possibly even more so under the 'social distancing' regime as we virtually had the carriage to ourselves. It would have been nice to have been able to spend longer at Abergynolwyn but we could understand why this was not possible. All in all, a great day out.

We had a lovely few hours at the railway, even though it was a rainy day. Staff were friendly and efficient and precautions for the COVID-19 pandemic were well thought out and worked well. We had a snack halfway through the journey and service and quality were good here too.

Excellent organisation throughout, our 2nd visit during the pandemic.
The railway operates through a stunning area of natural beauty, trains (locomotives and carriages) are not just clean but immaculately presented,
Our party comprised of a disabled lady and a baby in a pushchair. The staff / volunteers were excellent throughout, ensuring the safety of a vulnerable person. Social distancing measures were exemplary, including Shop, Cafe and Toilet arrangements, for both able bodied and disabled visitors
The Talyllyn Railway could teach far larger organisations how running your business can be done and should be done in these unprecedented times.

Great place to visit, friendly staff a must for everyone.

A fantastic day and and well organised from the moment we arrived until we left. Felt very covid safe, clean, good social distancing and knew way systems. Lovely pasty when the train stopped and quick service online with the 30 minutes we had at the station. Great staff who were all really helpful and i would highly recommend.

Even with all the restrictions in place still did not spoil our enjoyment. Well organized with friendly staff
We grew up going on train rides when visiting our Grandparents and it is great that volunteers enable this attraction to still be going 40+ years laters

Excellent Covid secure compartments, station and staff and amazing scenery. We hopped off (and got back on later) at Dolgoch and walked to see the waterfalls, which was well worth the effort and was lovely. All in all, an excellent morning.
