I have been ordering from Pinetree for many years, first in Ohio and now in Virginia. I have had a few seed failures but for the most part everything germinates well and then it's all up to me after that! I am still getting a handle on which varieties do well in our hot, humid climate. Our soil is sandy clay here and I've been able to grow good carrots for the first time ever! We have a whole different set of pests here too. I'm still trying to get a good tomato crop, just have to find the variety that does well here. Customer service is great and the orders come quickly. Oh, the Diva cucumbers are the best. We went on vacation for two weeks and when we returned there was a cucumber 3" around and about 11" long. It had at least an inch of good flesh between the seeds and skin and it wasn't bitter at all!

Excellent company for small hobby grower - seed packets typically contain fewer seeds than other companies and are priced lower, so a greater variety of seeds can be bought with the same amount of $$$. For a home garden, the packets supply plenty of seeds. Service is fast. I look forward to my Pinetree catalog every year.

I have nothing but nice things to say about the company. I have used them for over 20 years I'm sure. I like that they have cheap prices and that is because they don't give you 200 seeds or more in a pack. Most home gardeners don't need all those seeds and so the price they charge is less.

I was attracted to the very reasonable price of the seed packets as well as the availability of some varieties that I didn't found in other catalogs. However, when the packets arrived I realized that the low price was because of the small number of seeds. I will probably still access seeds from this company which don't seem to be available elsewhere, but I won't rely on them to provide so many of my seeds. Service was good, though, and I am enjoying the interesting colorants I found in the catalog which I use in soap-making.
