I wanted to leave one final update regarding my experience with Stitchin’ Heaven and the Sisterhood BOM.
After many weeks of emails and follow-ups, Mona did finally arrange for replacement fabric for Month 1 to be sent to me, along with paperwork to help organize the blocks for resale. I do appreciate that effort, and I wanted to acknowledge it fairly.
However, I also want to be honest about why this entire situation has been so frustrating. According to Stitchin’ Heaven’s own written policy included with the final shipment, customers have 30 days after a Block of the Month program ends to request extra materials if needed. My BOM ended a couple of weeks ago. That means the Month 1 materials I requested should still have been available based on their own policy and timeline. Instead, what followed was over a month of repeated emails, multiple follow-ups, long periods without communication, and ongoing uncertainty just trying to obtain the missing block. I do not believe it should have required this much effort to resolve something that fell within their own stated guidelines.
I did not share my dementia diagnosis when I first signed up for the BOM. I only disclosed it later, after attempting to complete Block 1 and realizing it had become too difficult for me. At that point, I spoke with a woman named Mona in trying to obtain block one. I needed this to try and sell it. On the phone call with Mona on June 1 she got my hopes up after saying she would talk to someone about buying the whole thing back. I was over the moon about this because this block of the month cost $600! But she came back the very next day blaming me for the reason they couldn’t take it back.
Quilting has been one of the things that has helped keep my mind engaged, my spirit calm, and my heart encouraged during an incredibly difficult season of life. Unfortunately, instead of feeling supported, I have felt dismissed. The most offensive was when Mona said on a phone call “you certainly don’t sound confused“. That really hurt. My response was to inform her that my husband was sitting at my side because she made me feel like I had to defend my dementia diagnosis.
What saddens me most is that I know firsthand that Quilting companies can choose compassion and flexibility when someone is facing cognitive decline. Other Quilting companies have worked with me kindly and patiently, helping me transition into beginner level Quilting projects that bitter fit where I am now. In particular, Missouri Star Quilting company has been extraordinarily gracious and supportive in helping me continue Quilting in ways that are still joyful and manageable for me.
So while I appreciate that replacement fabric was finally sent, I cannot honestly say I felt cared for throughout this experience.
If you have a loved one with dementia, Alzheimer’s, or cognitive challenges, I would encourage you to carefully consider whether this is the right company for them before committing to expensive and long-term BOM program

Stitchin Heaven is a BOM disaster. I have registered and participated in multiple BOMs with them. I have received the wrong product some months, have had difficulty with being registered but never getting started when they are supposed to. You would think they would be better organized. As a customer, I should have one account. All of my BOMs and purchases should be listed there. They are not. Even when their Customer Experience Team is trying to help, they can't even find stuff. They talk about a customer card, Appstle, and their own inablility to be able to take care of customers. Its frustrating and I will not do any more of their BOMs or order from them once my current BOMs are finished.

Great Customer Service
Two pieces of fabric were cut wrong in the BOM kit so I called to get replacements. Whomever answered the phone knew right away what I was calling about as soon as I identified myself & told her I was enrolled in the Greenhouse Gate BOM. She assured me replacements would be mailed the following week.

I had ordered a BOM four days before Valentine's Day. On Valentine's Day the registration fee was dropped to $1. Since I am a senior on a fixed income I requested the difference between the registration fee I had paid and $1, realizing they did not have to do that. Gracei Smith was wonderful. She sent me an email saying she would credit the difference. I have dealt with Stitchin' Heaven for years and their customer service has always been great. Their BOMs are so unique and I have always enjoyed dealing with Stitchin' Heaven. I would give them 10 stars if they were available.
