Mohammed is very professional, confident and polite. He always phones an hour before arrival. He takes great care and attention in everything he is doing, explains the whole process, and his diagnosis and doesn't make me feel pressured into getting new frames.

I had an at home eye test with Specs Oncall today and can't recommend the company highly enough. Mohammed was so friendly, professional and incredibly accommodating throughout the entire experience. I communicated with him via email prior to even making my appointment where he answered my questions promptly and helped me feel comfortable. I hadn't had an eye test in over a decade and was feeling extremely nervous about it!! As I'm autistic, I find appointments like this to be extremely challenging and I can't thank Mohammed enough for the patience and care he showed. He communicated with me via text about my appointment which was a preference I was able to establish when booking online and he let me know an ETA for when he would arrive. Throughout the appointment itself, Mohammed was extremely thorough in testing my eyes and took the time to explain my prescription and how it had changed. I felt completely at ease the entire time which is nothing short of a miracle for me!! The atmosphere was very relaxed and I felt no pressure to buy glasses at the end of the eye test but decided to go ahead after trying on a selection of glasses he had brought for me to try. He made sure I understood what would happen next, when they would be ready and helped me make decisions around options such as anti-glare coating and lens thinness. I found him to be very genuine in his advice and he didn't push for the more expensive options but instead explained the differences in real terms.

I found Specs Oncall through a recommendation and wasn’t quite sure what to expect at first. But when the optician arrived, he was incredibly professional and helped bridge the communication and language barrier. The visit was really helpful and left my mum smiling. She felt genuinely cared for and is now absolutely delighted with her new glasses.

Initally went to a well known optician and needed a second opinion for my daughter.

Mohammed provided a thorough eye test and explained the prescription, which the initial well know optician failed to provide (who actually provided inaccurate information and explanations).

Mohammed also provided a test for myself which again was thorough. He takes time during the test and time again to explain the prescription.

I can not commend him enough for the service, specifically as he provided the tests out of hours in the evening.

I would recommend Mohammed to anyone that is due an eye examination, specifically those that have questions, wants a dedicated bespoke service and would like a home visit.

After my dad, who has dementia and lives in a care home, broke his glasses, I struggled to find an optician who could help quickly, especially since he wasn’t mobile after a recent fall. His regular optician needed him to come in, and Specsavers offered the earliest home visit in two weeks—just for an eye test, with a further wait for the glasses.

Thankfully, I found Specs OnCall online. I left a message, and within an hour they called me back and arranged a home visit for that same week. The optician, Mohammed, was fantastic with my dad—patient, adaptable, and very understanding of his dementia. He carried out a full eye test at the care home and helped us order two pairs of glasses: one bifocal (which would take two weeks) and one single vision for short-term use.

Amazingly, the single vision glasses were ready in just two days and delivered personally by Mohammed, and the bifocals arrived exactly on time two weeks later. The entire process was smooth, compassionate, and efficient. I’m extremely grateful for the service and highly recommend Specs OnCall for anyone needing home optician visits.

Specs on call came to my house for myself and my daughter to have our eyes tested. It was easy and very professionally from start to finish. I'm looking forward to wearing my new glasses.

My wife and I are in our mid eighties, she is housebound and so am I effectively in looking after her. We both needed eye tests and our current optician could not offer a home visit at a time that was suitable for us.

I arranged a domiciliary eye care visit for my mum, and the service exceeded all our expectations. From the moment I contacted them, the optometrist was professional, courteous, and incredibly understanding of my mum’s needs. The optometrist was punctual, friendly, and showed great patience and care throughout the visit, making my mum feel completely at ease in her own home.

The eye examination was thorough, and everything was explained clearly. They even brought a wide selection of frames for her to choose from, which was a lovely touch. It’s such a relief to have this level of care available at home, especially for someone with mobility issues.
