This course, taught by the incomparable Maz Pennington, was possibly the best present I have ever received - even though it was actually a gift for my wife and I went along to keep her company!

Maz is an outstanding teacher as well as being an epic baker. Each session, of which there are four over 40-ish hours, was fun, entertaining and hugely informative. Sourdough baking involves short periods of activity and quite a bit of waiting, but it is so rewarding when it goes right. Needless to say our performance was not without hiccups, so for anyone looking to take this, which I totally recommend, when the instructions for feeding your starter end with “Leave” do NOT interpret this as meaning stick it in the fridge!

So the loaves we cooked tasted great, but didn’t look the part - mine especially did a good impression of a discus… but the two loaves I have cooked since returning home, following the instructions carefully, have been fantastic. I am a born-again baker and will probably bore everyone rigid with tales of feeding starters, proving and shaping and carving designs for the rest of my days. But I shall do so happily and on each occasion give all the credit to a great teacher and a properly lovely human being.

After recently going on a sourdough course I needed to buy baking supplies but wanted to avoid the big online companies. I was so happy to find Sourdough by the Sea, their products are beautiful quality and the customer service was fantastic. When a product I had added on to one of their starter kits was missing, they responded immediately and sent out the product straight away. Would recommend and will definitely be using again as my go-to for baking supplies.

That was the first time I got any baking supplies from Sourdough by the Sea and I must say I am so pleased. I got the silicone bread sling (oval shape).
The package arrived in under 48h from my placing the order. It was excellently oacked.
The sling itself is great and especially the ling handles prevent you from getting your hands burned.
I am very pleased with my experience with Sourdough by the Sea and will definitely continue to get baking essentials from them.
