A worthy experience!
My ten year old son took part in a one-hour taster session yesterday with Shane Brooks. He sampled Python and UnrealEngine and enjoyed both tremendously. From start to finish of signing up to actually partaking in the session, I have zero complaints. Software Academy communicated well, keeping us updated and informed throughout and answered all my questions without issue. Booking was easy and Shane made the whole experience very enjoyable for my son and myself even though I have no clue what they were doing or how they were doing it! It was amazing to see!
In my son's own words: I enjoyed the experience a lot and I would do it all again. Shane was really nice and supportive and he liked how my mum was reacting to stuff. I would do the course if I were you and I want to do the actual classes too! (Which he will be!)
Thank you very much for your time, Shane, and I definitely recommend this to anyone with children interested in computers, coding, and/or gaming. In the world we live in today, I truly see it as invaluable education and also, truly enjoyable!

The experience was really good.
The experience was really good he made me laugh and made me feel comfortable while doing the the trial. He made the explanations of certain things easy to understand and told me there was no expectations that needed to be met he also made the course interesting.

Well the first thing is the Academy is registered with NCFE UK .. so reliable.
Secondly They really explain well in trial session. Ben was really helpful to evaluate the kids interest of the program.

Enjoyable lessons, but poor communication and limited feedback
My daughter enjoys her coding lessons, but I feel the sessions can be rushed and communication with parents is poor. At £79 per month for four one-hour lessons during term time, I would expect clearer and more regular information about what she is learning, the progress she is making, how long the course is expected to continue and when she may achieve an accreditation.
We have received termly reports, but these have not given me a meaningful understanding of her progress. I recently emailed Software Academy asking for this information but have not yet received a reply.
The lessons themselves appear enjoyable, but the limited feedback and communication make it difficult to judge whether the course represents good value for money.
