The first application I submitted after reading SOACLTC passed the 'application stage' at one of the top law firms I aspire to work for. This small success can be attributed to applying the author’s own positive outlook and guidance into my training contract recruitment process.
SOACLTC is a fantastic guide that provides readers with a unique insight into the world of corporate law. The book contains invaluable resources on how to improve one's own commercial awareness whilst offering direction on how to structure applications and embark on the interview process.
What I love about this book is the author's own personable and honest take on the process of securing a training contract and navigating the early stages of one's career.
I consider this book to be 'a bible' for anyone embarking on a career in law. I will be recommending SOACLTC to my peers.

Great book, detailing all that’s required to successfully gain a training contract, the proof of the pudding is yet to be found out, but at least we have all the insider information now, thank you!

Very clear and fulsome guide - helped me to secure a TC
A detailed and very helpful guide to what was for me a difficult process. I am happy to say that, thanks to this guide, I was able to secure a training contract. It really helped me to choose what area of law I wanted to go into, how to successfully write my applications and how to deal with interviews. Would recommend this 100%

Considered advice from someone who has gone through it all before
Every law student should have this to hand and keep referring back to it. A very professional and personal approach to help you achieve your ideal career path. I really liked the honesty and guidance this guide provided me with. What was most helpful, is the reassurance that the author had considered how one might feel in their shoes in a current climate. It is relatable guidance, which is also completely up to date. I found this to be different form other reading material on the market which focuses more on describing the generic steps in the path to obtaining a training contract. This guide will help and encourage you to reach top tier firms with guidance that will differentiate your application from others. A most useful read, which will help you feel reassured and confidant.

Great book!
As a student, I've read lots of these types of books but this is definitely the best! Really thorough and it helps to have anecdotes from real life practice as it's so hard as a student to get behind the 'real life' of a law firm and learn about what life is really like.

Excellent book and up to date. It’s really a very good book for someone who wants to bacons a City lawyer. I also found very interesting that the author provided his own notes and real examples from his experience. I would definitely recommend it.
