Sküma Water Omdömen 

First and foremost I don’t like leaving bad reviews for brands, however, the experience I have had with Skuma leaves a lot to be desired.

I was extremely excited to receive the Skuma water filtration and dispensing system, especially since my wife and I are trying to be as healthy as possible and improve our health (so it’s important for us to avoid any possible PFAS and plastic exposure where-ever possible).
Having read how poor our drinking water is with PFAS and plastic contamination I was highly excited to receive and use the Skuma unit. I saw at least 2 social media posts on the Skuma instagram page stating that post filtration the filtered water doesn't come in contact with any plastic. This lead me to believe this Skuma unit would be perfect for our health needs and it confirmed in my mind this was the product for us.
However, I have since found out that the filtered water does indeed come into contact with plastic post filtration as it sits in a 1.5l plastic tank.
I frankly feel like I have been lied to and mis-sold this product as it is no longer fit for purpose nor is it the product I believed I was buying when I placed the order.
Skuma have since described that the plastic tank is made using food-grade ABS, but in reality there is no such thing as “food-grade “(even if certified food-grade), as over time the ABS plastic will degrade, will then release micro plastics and thus degrade the filtered water and become a health problem (if it isn't already leaching into the water that is already being filtered by the unit from the start).
To say the Skuma unit is made to help peoples health and filter water to make it better for us (which is their main selling point) and then store the water in a plastic tank until it’s used made me so surprised and disappointed. Then they also make it hard to find out what this tank is actually made from.

Under the Consumer Rights act (2015) I have asked to return the device to Skuma and have a full refund.
I am within my rights to request this on 2 standards from the above act: 1- product must be fit for purpose 2- product must be as described. Skuma know these standards have not been met by the product. It having a plastic storage tank for filtered water is not fit for purpose and the product is not as described; as according to their social media; water post filtration does not come into contact with any plastic.
I have other issues with the Skuma unit: for the price the overall feel and build quality is quite poor.
The units buttons will sometimes activate and dispense water without me even pressing them.
I had a look under the top cover (its only held on by 5 or so tiny screws) and the quality of wiring is poor. I am by no means an electrician, however when 2 wires taped together with a minuscule amount of tape can be separated by the slightest touch I can assume this filtration unit isn’t built to last.
I also have concerns that the main water tank where the water is held before being filtered has a seam running all the way up (near one of the corners); looks like it also won’t last. I doubt it would survive a drop. I also think this tank would benefit from a handle as when it is full it becomes quite awkward to carry and I think those with lower dexterity could struggle.
The re-mineralisation sachets do not last as stated (on one part of the website states 2 sachets per month, another part suggests 1 every 10 days). But in reality you will be lucky if it does either (I’m pretty sure another review also states this). Sometimes the Skuma unit doesn’t even recognise the remineralisation unit is there either. So some water maybe remineralised and the other not.

I sincerely hoped this issue could be remedied without the need for it to progress further (like leaving this poor review), however, the only response I get from Skuma is about booking in a call. A call the discuss my worries. I actually just want to return the item. I have referred this all to trading standards as I am getting absolutely nowhere with Skuma.
So, until Skuma improves the design of this unit and they improve their customer service; don’t make the same mistake I did! If you do still decide to buy this product at least you have an extremely honest review.

I have followed the video regarding the set up and flashing to start. However why the taste seems a bit off (plastic taste) of the water. Is there something I missed?

Absolutely amazing. Shipping was quick and the system only took half an hour to set up. Water tastes great. Couldn’t recommend this enough

The product is very efficient, the water taste is lovely, the minerals are a well recieved addition and make the water taste even better. I love the different temperatures of water, making my wife a herbal tea now is so much quicker with the added benefit of mineralised water instead of boiled filtered.

I think this water filter is great. A few points which I’m not keen on is emptying the waste water is a lot. And the hot temperature isn’t hot enough to make a cuppa tea.

I have never had any issues with skuma. The product or the customer service. I love the water I get & the team have always been extremely helpful. I had a recent small issue with a part & this was resolved & sent out to me within 2 days. At no cost to myself. Particular mention to Ashwin for the help. Thank you guys

I recently received the Skuma water filter and have been using it for the past two to three days. With your system offering three mineral additives: soft water, mineral-plus (a more concentrated version), and alkaline, I can't really give my thoughts until I've tried them all, as there was only 2 mineral viles to insert. So far, I’ve only tried the mineral-plus additive, and I haven’t decided which I prefer yet, but I’ll update my review once I test them all. I’ve been storing the water in the bottles provided in the fridge since I prefer it cold, though I do enjoy the hot water feature. I love the look of the machine, but I think it could use some adjustments. The wastewater tank is a bit tricky to remove, especially with my arthritis, and how often you need to empty it living in a hard water city in Manchester. Also, the metal insert for the drip tray doesn’t fit properly, as is too large for the plastic tray? . I can provide photos and order numbers if needed. I did choose this system for both my own health, but also including my new rescue puppy's hydration, who arrives tomorrow. I had initially considered the Selene water fountain for my new puppy, but the Skuma system offered more flexibility and quality. Since I live in a hard water area in Manchester, I didn’t realize how much waste water this would generate, and I find myself emptying it more often than initially expected. I can clearly see a high concentration of minerals in the wastewater thats removed, so I plan to repurpose this for my plants or even in a jug for the toilet to avoid wasting it. Overall, I do hope to try the soft water and Alkaline additive soon.
I also included the extra free Filter code, but only 1 was sent in the complete set, even though you included it in the original invoice?
Once these issues are resolved, I’m confident this will greatly benefit both my health and my dog’s, and I’d be happy to raise my rating if those tweaks are made.

I love the quality and taste of the water that Skuma produces.
I have had my Skuma coming up to 1 year and although the set up and cleaning instructions were initially a challenge, once I got it up and running it has worked perfectly. I have recommended this machine to many friends who can certainly taste the difference between my water and their various other sources.

Whenever I need assistance with my Skuma filter I also get a really speedy and helpful response. Ashwin is easy to communicate with and things always get resolved quickly.

I have had my Skuma for quite a few years, I love it, where I live the water smells of chlorine and tastes awful. I used to have the normal jug type filter. Saw this on Facebook and thought I would risk it. Not only does it taste better, you are doing your body a favour with the added minerals. I have never regretted it. It is brilliant but also important is customer service, their customer service is the best I have ever dealt with and I am no spring chicken. I have contacted them several times, mainly for advice. There is always a prompt reply. I have had an oops when it didn’t dispense the minerals, once again that was dealt with promptly and without fuss. I have given several reviews on this product and the company I have no connection with it at all. If you are pondering buy one, especially if in a hard water area. I know I’ve said date of experience as this month but it goes back a few years of great experience.

Water tastes great, the station looks nice, and overall we are very happy with the purchase and look forward to using it for many years to come!

We have had a Skuma for a while and as a family we love it. So reassuring to have fresh non-polluted water everyday! Unfortunately, we had an issue with it, however, the team were brilliant and sorted a replacement swiftly. After a number of years of knowing we needed a reliable water filtration system and doing some research, I met the owners of Skuma at the 2026 Health Optimisation Summit. They were so helpful and the entire team could not do enough. I ordered one and am in the early stages of using it. The set up instructions were easy to follow, though I am over the age of 65 and would have preferred having an instruction booklet! Water tastes great and so pleased with our purchase. Thank you.
