It was a really good experience. I have learned a lot in the process, and it will help me become a better teacher.

Compared to other TEFL courses, it seems acceptable - though admittedly, that's a low bar to cross. My goal was never really the knowledge, as I am a teacher with 10 years of experience already. My purpose of completing this course was just the paper at the end of the trail to improve my resume - and maybe, just maybe, pick up a few new ideas along the way (which I did!)

To begin positively, the first thing that caught my attention was...well the price, most obviously.
I also really appreciate the transparent and clear marketing on it's front page (stand out for saying no "infinite count down sales", got a good chuckle out of me)
This certainly helped simpleTEFL feel more approachable, especially compared to the *cough* other TEFL company(s) I was burned by. (it has TEFL in it's name and has a dot org in it's name)

When this course kind of lost some trust was a number of small things that added up.
I'm still skeptical of the course. Looking up their accreditor, ACCREDITAT (or whatever it's called) only accredits very few companies. The list of companies are not in alphabetical order and simpleTEFL is right at the top which seems sus to me. The website for the accreditor is also really amatuer and there is some very unprofessional language used against companies.

As for the course contents itself, there were numerous typos or errors in the writing. One of the checkpoint quizzes was missing the question. The question was just placeholder text "Your match question here."
Sometimes it felt like the course relied way too much on ChatGPT to write the course contents. They do outline in their about section the use of AI and that's totally fine. The problem is that the use of AI becomes more apparent in the back half of the course where chapters become long, meandering, and rambly - and occasionally filled with incorrect or outdated information.
(As an American Millennial I have never heard the term "Educationally subnormal", but what a wordy way that it might be a new favorite insult against the noobs in the competitive shooter I play)

Let me make this clear; the back half of the course is rough. Where the start of the course seemed to be realistic and even draw from real world cases, the back half speaks about more idealistic classes or give more vague (and less impactful) advice for scenarios - likely the suboptimal (or should I say subnormal, lol) time when the back half talks about classroom management, where real world experience and less idealistic presentations would be the most beneficial.

To wrap up, to add one more positive, I truly appreciate the self-paced nature of the course, meaning I could go as fast or as slow as I needed. Since everything was in text, it allowed me to use external tools to help me summarize, notate, or better understand the contents, which, in my opinion, is far superior than courses that only provide video with no transcript. Nothing is worse than being locked to a long video of a lecture, eyes glazing over at the talking head.

Overall, as a teacher just looking to flesh out his CV, this course did it's job well. TEFL continues to be taught with rather idealistic classroom and settings in mind, where real teaching is much messier, and as an ESL teacher, your authority may be limited to little more than being just a tape recorder for the primary teacher (native to the country you are teaching in).
You can't argue with the price, the transparent marketing, and text-based course, the highlights of it all.

I completed a TEFL course where I gained essential skills in teaching English, including lesson planning, classroom management, and adapting lessons for different learners. I learned how to teach grammar, pronunciation, and use interactive activities to keep students engaged. The course also helped me build strong communication and organizational skills, giving me confidence to deliver effective and engaging lessons.

Very straight forward. Really in depth without being overly long.

I had a great experience because of how smooth and understanding it was for me to read with ease, understanding each topic seamlessly. simpletefl have done a lot good to there courses, each topics where captivating, easy to capture, each checkpoints defines what you have learnt so far.

In my honest opinion i think they have done a great job, accumulating this material for teachers who are willing to pursuit teaching and have a Tefl Certificate.

I really enjoyed the lessons, the management of the program is doing a great job here, very well structured, easy-to-understand lessons, tailored to fit modern learning.

Their complaint management team is super active, they respond even on weekends.

Overall, I crown SimpleTEFL the best.

The course is broken in to very manageable chunks with regular checkpoints. Information is plentiful, easy to understand and valuable. I thoroughly enjoyed this cause, given how daunting starting a course sounded. I’ve always struggle with reading but this course couldn’t have been better. SimpleTEFL makes it approachable, fun and not overwhelming.

I had so much fun learning here, most of the topics were more of a reminder of my high school day. It was really imaging and the quizzes were quite interesting

It was a really good experience. I was introduced to the basics of what goes into teaching English and learned a lot. It was organized great!

The UI and course was well-designed for the most part and it was indeed self-paced. I've brushed up on my English knowledge. Even as a native speaker, I needed a refresher, so it really helped. I've learned progressive teaching principles. SimpleTEFL is a good course for the price.

There were a few things that weren't perfect. There was plenty of content that was repeated and paraphrased across most of the modules, so it was a bit frustrating to have to read about the same things repeatedly. Some concepts were revisited and only expanded on later. Some could have been placed in earlier modules to make it feel less convoluted. I think the course structure could be organized better. There were a few formatting errors and inconsistencies, there were also spelling and grammar mistakes, especially towards the end of the course. There was not enough content about teaching online and one-on-one teaching, it was more geared towards classroom teachers.

This course was great, very informative and helpful display of information, easily digestible.
