Oversells then cancels your orders

I've learned Simon's online inventory is not accurate and they will cancel your orders without explanation (as many other reviews say). This makes it super disappointing to find something you like, make the choice to buy, then randomly have your order cancelled. I generally like their stuff but this disappointment and frustration aren't experiences I'm looking for after shopping somewhere.

Have not received items

Have not received items. It has been 3 weeks and contacted them several times as well as the courier company Nationex. Still no resolution. No refund offer to reship and no parcel. Will probably have to reverse cc charges and report to BBB. So disappointed as now I have to scramble to find a last minute Christmas gift.

Refunds for returns delayed by months

I ordered a sweater and a jacket at the end on November, I was trying to purchase clothing to wear over the holidays. My past experience with Simons has been that they deliver fairly quickly and returns are processed quickly. My plan was to try these clothes and if they were not what I was looking for then I would send them back and get the refund with plenty of time to buy something else if needed. The surprise came when I tried to return the items and found out that they were using Canada Post even though they are on strike. So no way to get my money back in time to buy something elsewhere. So now my funds are tied up at Simon at least for another 2 months while Canada Post clears the backlog from the strike. It is absolutely mind boggling that a company this large had no plan for customer returns while every other clothing store made alternate plans. So here I am at the holidays down $230 because of Simons. I have tried contacting their customer service several times and still no response. I have asked if I could send it back UPS at my own cost and still no response. My trust in this store has been shattered and I will never ever shop there again. The competition is just easier to shop from. ZARA!!! They are awesome, ship quick, return and refund quick, there is no need to put up with Simons nonsense. Sadly this Canadian business is just not keeping up.

I typically have had okay service with Simon’s online orders, but recently had an order sent to our old address (which has never happened with this retailer). I checked my shipping info in my account and it looks up to date, so I have no idea how this happened. No one was able to help at all.

Update: Simons has actually gone downhill further.
The quality of a lot of their stuff is just terrible compared to what it used to be (particularly the ‘made in Italy’ line). They also seem to be offering a lot of cheap (maybe real, maybe not) leather bags , tons of crappy synthetic fabric clothes. It’s really disappointing. Now, they are charging 20% restocking fees if you have a high rate of recent returns. Now I live in a semi-rural area, so online shopping is my only option with Simon’s. But they often have inaccurate or incomplete information about items, or don’t show people wearing items - like accessories, so you don’t have a lot to go on when buying. I ordered a Marni bag, and they only had a couple of photos, and didn’t have any measurements of the length of the strap etc. and they don’t seem to offer online exchanges.

I visited Simon’s clothing in Montreal

I visited Simon’s clothing in Montreal, hoping to buy something nice whilst visiting Canada. I was so surprised by the clothing, not stylish at all, it rather reminded me of a rather frumpy Grandma shop in the UK. Okay, clothes are trivial I know, but when I look around me, it does seem the fashion trend seems to be cheap, amorphous and dull. Sad. Fashion designers, can you not up your game ? We don’t all want to look like a sack of potatoes ! I suspect many more feel like me, but struggle to find anything nice these days. :(

Exclusive merchandise

Simons offers a great choice of clothes, different from what you can find elsewhere, Their HOME merchandise is simply wonderful. I am a great fan of Simons. People have to choose between Twik (a line designed for teens) of Contemporaine (better choice for mature women). I have never been disappointed with the service. Impressed with the speed of delivery. Great store.

Shady Business Practices

Shady Business Practices: They regularly at times cancel your order after placing it online. This isn't the first time. The excuse said it was no longer in stock. This, despite the fact that their own site showed full in one location. They are just pulling it off the site only to return the items to the site again but now at a higher price. They have done that before. Very shady practice. Haven't ordered from them in a while I guess I forgot why until now. Giving them a 1 for shady business practices. Not trustworthy as a department store.

awful experience

awful experience - they have the awful quality of clothing and hair accessories. They are the more shiny version of the dollar store. I only used a clip for 3 weeks and it already broke

Do not Order Online to Store

Do Not order to be delivered to store. I ordered it to the store because they told me I would get double Points but I Ordered the Jacket to the Store and Its been 4 weeks and Have heard nothing.

Poor Customer Service

I have been a customer for years, the quality of the merchandise has been getting worse and now they are charging a restocking fee per item returned. I lost trust in this company and will no longer shop there.

First Foray into Simons

Went into Simons for the first time today - looked in general at everything, and yikes - the women's clothing is overall quite ugly and overpriced, but the men's clothing is pretty nice. Wanted a cotton PJ set and found tops but no bottoms, and all sorts of Jersey PJs. Also wanted sports dhorts and they were all hideous. I think Simons saved up all of Sears things and are selling them off, lol.

Simons Customer Service Fantastic!!

I have shopped at Simons in Montreal for many years and also online….their customer service is absolutely THE BEST I have ever experienced!! Old school service at its best…..can’t wait until it opens in Halifax shopping centre this spring!! Love department stores and will continue to support them😊😊😊

Give Them A Try

This was my first time ordering from Simons and I was hesitant due to the negative reviews but they were offering a great deal on the item I was looking for so I decided to give them a try. I placed my order on January 1st and it was received on January 5th and I was able to track the package the entire way. The item was received in new condition as expected.

So overall, my experience with Simons was great.

Unexplained order cancellations

I experienced two unexplained cancellations of my online orders - with no communication, other than emails stating 'order successfully cancelled'.

Items were listed as available on Simons' website at the time the orders were placed.

Why bother with this company?

STAY AWAY

Do yourself a favor and listen to the reviews as they don’t lie!! The website is misleading as it states that their items are shipped via Canada Post. They use an unreliable courier. Definitely will never be purchasing from this site again.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. It was my first time shopping on their app and a promo code didn't register during checkout. I noticed right away and contacted customer service to update the order. I get an email from Heather in the morning saying there's nothing she can do. Now I have to buy the same order again, use the promo code, and return the first order! It's a waste of everyone's time. Terrible experience.
