Shireplants Omdömen 

My partner ordered 5 cornflower plants for me. Cornflower are annuals never sold as individual plants. Annual seeds are very cheap seeds, sold in large numbers and have with excellent germination rates.
To compound the problem the plants for whatever reason had been cropped therefore only producing weak secondary growth. The cost of the 5 poor specimen annuals over £27.
I have tried on numerous occasions to contact by phone and email but to no avail. It's either the small claims court or a personal visit.
Highlighted the service to the RHS.

. Ordered 7 plants. Dreadful. All dry except one that was rotting on the bottom. Bedraggled and unhealthy. Never buy from them again. Plants shoved roughly in a box no care with packaging.
The one star is for their chosen delivery service which was superb

I ordered two Gypsophila plants, and they arrived in an awful condition. Both were extremely dried out, and one of the plants was broken on arrival. They looked more like dead plants than live ones.

I contacted the company by email to make a complaint, but my message was completely ignored. I received no response or acknowledgment whatsoever.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. Poor quality plants and non-existent customer service made this a very disappointing purchase.

From start to finish I was kept informed of their arrival. They arrived, very well packed and fresh looking. Currently looking again, plus you get 10% off.

I ordered these plants with trepidation due to some of the reviews on here, but my experience was different. My plants were dispatched rapidly and were healthy on arrival. They were well packaged, and are currently doing well.

I am giving only 2 stars as delivery took a long time with no updates. Then 4 plants arrived looking pretty sad and only 2 of the 4 are alive at the moment but I've seen no growth so don't know if they will last.

We ordered two jackanakes small pots. They arrived at the door. I ordered two more. DPD deliveredthey were delivered to front of the house NOT FLAT 2 (REAR OF HOUSE) we were in waiting ! but they say we were not ! then they dumped them at a shop 3 miles away and Shire told us to collect. We did not, we are both 80 and PAID FOR DELIVERY HERE. I have tried several times to get a refund but they clearly do not intend to. Disgraceful service. DON'T USE THEM.

They sent me out willow weed. I ordered bee balm burgamot. the plants are nutrient deficient and all light green small straggly and unhealthy looking. The endangered chrysanthemum has brown spot on it. All in all I'd say avoid. I rated them 3rd at a push for online plants that was being kind. They really are abysmal

I bought 6 plants from Shire Plants and they were packaged extremely well, sent in good time and look incredibly healthy! I would definetly order from them again.

Ordered 6 white aubretia plants. Planted them straight away. 5 weeks on -
2 didn’t survive
2 are producing a couple of flowers but they are PURPLE!
2 are just surviving (I think)
Very disappointed.
No comment on these reviews and that I find really bad. Things do go wrong, the important thing is how they are put right. It’s obvious Shire Plants have no interest in this

Good selection of plants , arrived quickly, healthy and well packaged

Ordered Mrs sinkins dianthus from shire. Excellent service, plants arrived in good condition, better than expected, good size, will order again.

Received viola tricolor and viola Rebecca 2 Feb 2026. Noticed daily leaf rot. Realized over next few days both plants were infested with mealybug.
Horrified.
Have thrown away pots and removed as much infestation physically as possible, treated with safe systemic compound and am trying to damage limit.
SO glad I hadn't put them in the garden near other plants.

order on time -- plants in good condition -- not cheap but i wanted unusual ones

Order delivered to the incorrect address. Implied I was lying and that I should go and find them myself as the address the order was delivered to was "around the corner".
The address is not "around the corner"!! What the condition of these plants woudld be after days in 30+ degree heat left in a randoms persons driveway I dread to know. Will not be using again as I hoped as the business was in my post code area it would be less hassle how wrong was I.

The plants that arrived were not as described so I emailed to query them. The reply I received was aggressive and rude and treated me like an idiot. There are plenty of good nurseries to buy from so avoid this place, they don’t deserve your business. I wish I’d looked here at other reviews before ordering from them.

Received 4 badly packaged plants today. Soil everywhere but in the pot!, snapped stems and crushed leaves. The viola was actually just a single plug plant plonked into a 9cm pot and not rooted at all which makes it the most expensive plug plant ever! Cannot get through to Shire by phone so have emailed but looking at previous poor reviews I doubt I will receive a reply. They have no mention of how to proceed with order issues on their website. If you are going to sell plants online from your family run nursery then you need to be equipped to do so but they appear to be under the illusion that not answering the phone because they are busy with the plants and do everything themselves is something to be proud of. That might make your family proud Shire but it doesn't cut it with disgruntled customers trying to resolve a problem with damaged plants. I can see from reviews on this site and my own experience that you deal with these problems by ignoring them! You need to read up on the Consumer Services Act 2015. Poor plants and appalling customer service mean I won't be wasting any more money with you. It's pretty clear from the way you've ignored all previous negative reviews on Trustpilot however that you couldn't care less about customer retention. What goes around comes around though!

Have placed two big orders with this c.
I have some problems with eight of the plants. All four plant that were described as white are in fact pink! Out of a set of six plants of a different variety just two have started to grow. This order was placed in February 2025. I have contacted Shire and got a response to wait until end of April to see if they would have any signs of growth . I have sent emails to them that have been answered, but since the one sent on 26 April 2025 - no answer in spite of several follow up emails. Impossible to make contact by telephone.
Thought they came across as a reasonable company, but it turns out they are as disinterested as possible. Some am out of pocket by at least £39.20
Just beware of buying plants from them, they are not at all concerned

one of the plants i recieved was clearly sick and dying but despite me supplying photographic evidence they claimed it was healthy and refused to pay for the return postage, So im having to pay to return the plant to them,
I would avoid buying from them.
