Overpriced for what it offers
Overall, the course is very overpriced for what it offers. While I appreciated the organization and their customer service, I felt that the course itself did not offer much that is different from the free resources available through a quick google search. The videos provided very little help as they were often the exact same as the reading exercises . It would be much more valuable if there were videos of a trainer going through the training with an actual dog, instead of an animated cartoon. As well, there is very little training provided for the actual service animal psychiatric tasks. The program only lists these tasks and briefly touches on a few of them but it is no where close to the support that would actually be needed for a handler to teach the content to their service animal. If you are doing this just to get the service animal certification, you are better off buying the certification/ ID card from other sites, especially since the $349 does NOT include an ID card. You must pay an additional $50 for the ID card, which expires after 12 months. Other sites offer ID cards and service animal numbers that never expire and are much cheaper to purchase.

There are many free resources available online, that can provide you with information on how to train a dog or a service dog. However, many people quickly realize that the lack of structure, and feedback by professional trainers, do not contribute to their training progress, but it is quite the opposite! You might find it hard to understand what the right approach towards your dog is, how to properly conduct training and address any behavioral issues, or at what level you and your dog currently are as a team. These are key disadvantages that freely available resources have compared to well-prepared training programs which include full tutor support.
During the training process, we never received your feedback in regard to the program or any questions you may have had. If you were interested in additional service dog tasks, our team would have helped you in the best way possible! We always provide additional information to our students as needed. The main idea of our courses is for them to be informative, without being overwhelming. That is why we have included animated videos on purpose. They are short and very easy to follow so even people with no training experience, would be able to understand the concept.
The PSD course is quite detailed and includes even more tasks than the standard PSD tasks, included in most programs such as Deep Pressure Therapy and tactile stimulation. You probably understand, that we can not include all possible tasks in one training program, as these depend on the person's needs, and thus vary from a person to person. We believe that our PSD course is very informative and your description: "briefly touches on a few of them", does not apply to it at all.
Selling training certificates without requiring a dog to go through proper training, is not only immoral but also illegal. "Just purchase a certificate"- this is not advice that we would ever give to a person, who actually qualifies for a service dog! We require photos/ videos as proof of training as well as correct answers to various theoretical questions before we issue a certificate.
Service dog training gear is not required by law in many countries, which is why ID cards are not explicitly included in our service dog programs. Students are free to purchase an ID card from our member store. Since ID cards are considered official documents, these need to be regularly renewed, i.e. if a dog is unable to continue performing the needed tasks if he/she passed away, or in case any information on the ID card needs to be updated. Providing ID cards valid for a lifetime as well as selling certificates without requiring proof of training are not good practices.
We hope that you will find a program that will suit your needs in the best way possible!

This bundle is a good choice for young dogs who need to go through the basics first prior to moving to more advanced service dog tasks. We have done our best to make our programs easy to understand and as helpful as possible. Our team members are true dog lovers, who have a lot of experience in dog training and are always at our students' disposal for training advice. We hope that you and your pup will have an amazing time together!
Psychiatric Service Dog Training
The Psychiatric Service Dog Training course is the class my dog and I took. I started training my dog using YouTube videos, but this program is standardized and helped me to tighten my dog's training. It also helped to make me aware of my rights and responsibilities as a handler. My only complaint is that Session 5 Part 1 should have options to choose behaviors to upload instead of licking and nudging specifically. I need pressure and prefer never to be licked. As a Doctor of Education, I teach the most difficult creatures one can educate--teenagers. The PSD curriculum followed best practices for education with easy-to-understand guidance for people who are not teachers.

Thank you, Finn, for leaving such a great review of our Psychiatric Service Dog course! Educating yourself via online videos can be helpful. However, training a dog via structured lessons which make a smooth transition from basic knowledge to advanced tasks, especially when tutor support is included, can be more effective.
We also appreciate your feedback in regard to Session 5! It has been taken into consideration. Our students can adjust the process to their needs and focus on the tasks that actually work for them. If you feel you do not want your paw friend to lick you, you can change the task (i.e. licking at your hand, instead of licking at your face) or entirely skip it. We are here to help and provide guidance in regard to all tasks included in the lessons. You and your service dog are a really great team, and we wish you the best of luck!
Total waste of money
There was no actual service dog training at all. Just a bunch of simple commands and simplistic questions. Even their videos were designed for a 5 yr old.
Teaching a dog basic commands is not going to help train them to be service dogs. What this course teaches is basic dog manners 101. I signed up for three courses, hoping that each one would be a bit more intense than the prior one. NO such luck. Don't waste your money. It's a total rip-off.

According to our records, you completed the programs, you were enrolled in, in September. You never gave us any feedback in regard to your experience during the training process or right after you completed the courses. Otherwise, we would have done our best to make it up to you.
Also, it is important to note that, that some programs like the Canine Good Citizen Course, are specifically designed to help people train their dogs in basic obedience commands only and do not include service dog training.
The lessons and the videos are quite understandable, so people who have no training experience, can follow them and benefit from them.
Our service dog training programs, on the other hand, are very detailed and include both basic obedience training (which is mandatory for service animals) and specialized service dog tasks, that vary based on the program.
Also, our students / potential students are able to check the learning plan of all programs on our website in the Syllabus section and evaluate whether the tasks included would work for them or not.
We are really sorry that you have had such a negative experience with our courses! We can assure you that have put a lot of time and effort into creating our courses to be easy to access and help people train their own service dogs or companion animals!

I'm extremely grateful I found this website. It's very hard to find service dog trainers in Ontario. This company offers different great training courses. I've learned a lot how to train my service dog in a fun way that he didn't feel like he was working. The sessions were very clear and he mastered his task in a very short time. The course offers lots of information on dogs in general and great videos. My trainer Zell was a great blessing, patient, compassionate and was there for me whenever I needed her help. Thank you so much Zell!! Vincent has been also amazing and quick to reply to any of my questions. Can't say it enough about this company. I just feel blessed to have found them and highly recommend them!!

The courses are full of great educational training tips, solutions and guidance. The video's that accompany the course are very helpful, it made the experience so much smoother for me, as I trained 2 Service dogs with Service dog training school. Every dog is different, and they had a solution for all types. Now we are able to travel with the dogs at ease!

My dog and I had a great time with Service Dog Training School! It was east-to-follow as an online program, but also provided real-life interaction and accountability. I will be practicing some of the tips and tricks for much longer than just the school; great stuff and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to train their own service dog!

This wonderful business has turned my life around. In England although service dogs are welcome, there is no help for PTSD training.
So I turned to these wonderful people.
Tula is just a year old and has now completed her course and travels with me in the UK every where. She chose us at 3 weeks old. We brought her home at 15 weeks and started her training at 6 months.
Working with our local dog club has given us the confidence and extra training needed to complete the course.
I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a loving loyal dog.

Offers nothing for actual training
This company doesn't have many resources to actually help you. Reading and a short video maybe if your lucky. Do you self a favor, save the money and use YouTube videos instead, they will get you further.

Could you please let us know what course you are enrolled in, as we need to verify that you are our student?
Also, we are aware of the fact that service dog / companion animal teams are different, when it comes to personality and temperament. That is why we provide our students with the opportunity to cancel their orders within 14 days of purchase.
We have designed our courses to be understandable and easy to follow so that people with no or little training experience can benefit from them. The lessons are well-structured and the videos are short, simple, and provide easy steps on how to train a dog to perform a certain task. Also, full tutor support is included in all programs we offer so that our students can contact us at any time they need guidance or experience difficulties. There are a lot of materials available online, including on YouTube, however, they are not structured, and you won't be able to ask a trainer for assistance. We understand that our programs may not have been the right fit for you, but they proved effective and beneficial for many people worldwide, who got the opportunity to train their own service dogs or companion animals.
A wonderful experience
First of all, I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to do this online course from Argentina. I really had a lot of fun doing it. It is a very enjoyable course. All instructions are very clear and easy to apply. And I also want to thank my coach who always encouraged me and gave very good suggestions. My puppy learned all the commands very quickly. The steps to follow are very clear and explained in a very didactic way. I recommend it to anyone who wants to educate their dog for any type of need they have. It was a wonderful experience which I enjoyed very much.

This was such a great program
This was such a great program. My 8-month old Sheepadoodle pup and I completed it in about 3 months. I highly recommend the training. Having a service dog is next level! She not only super well behaved (most times- shes still a puppy) but has really honed her skills to assist and calm me when I really need it most.

Great service dog training experience.
The staff is very knowledgeable and competent in their topic. The response time to my questions was
excellent. They helped me organized my training, provided a training log. The Federal ADA laws pertaining to Service Dogs were explained in understandable detail;. Updates were recently provided as well. They were very encouraging.
The MOST important thing to me was the integrity. Unlike many other companies who will sell you a certificate and vest, this school requires legitimate training and passing assignments. This is in line with my own beliefs. Thank you!

The Canine Good Citizen course is terrible
The Canine Good Citizen course is literally just the free AKC videos embedded in their software. There are typos and grammatical errors throughout. Since their 14-day guarantee forfeits half of what I paid, it isn't much of a guarantee. I had intended to go through their service dog training as well but will not be moving forward.

The course does not only include videos but detailed lessons to help people prepare their dogs for the CGC Test by the AKC. We have tried to design the lessons to be informative and as structured as possible so that our students can easily follow them.
We appreciate your feedback in regard to the typos and will take immediate steps toward fixing these.
Please note, that deducting a handling fee is a standard procedure implemented in the refund policies of many companies. We have made our refund policy clear, so people can take it into account when enrolling in any of our courses. Also, our courses are intellectual property, that can easily lose its value once a person gets access to it, but decides that they do not need it. We received your message submitted through our contact yesterday, and we forwarded it to our team for review. Considering your frustration, we want to make it up to you, and we have issued a full refund. We have been doing our best to provide people with an affordable option to train their own service dog or companion dog and put a high value on the feedback our students provide.

I am so glad that I came across this training school and the the courses it has to offer. Thank you for putting these great courses together! Even though Nori has been through multiple levels of training since she was a puppy and I've working with her since, yet we still learned a lot from this course. The training course was presented in a simple yet systematic way and pleasant so that both me and my dog enjoyed the training sessions. It is very helpful and beneficial in helping polishing and refining her training. Trainer Vincent is very prompt and helpful. Very happy with the experience, highly recommend!
