Amazing
I feel very happy with the progress Quimey and I have made throughout this course. I started the course wanting to better understand how to properly train a psychiatric service dog, and I now feel much more confident in the overall training process and in my ability to continue developing Quimey’s skills. One of themost important things I have learned is the value of building strong foundation skills before expecting morecomplex behaviours or reliable performance in public. The course taught me how to break difficult behavioursand tasks into smaller, achievable steps rather than expecting everything to happen at once. I now feel muchmore confident recognising when Quimey understands an exercise, when he is ready for more difficulty, andwhen I need to go back a step and make things easier for him. I particularly enjoyed learning about public access training, maintaining focus around distractions, interruption behaviours, and how psychiatric service dog tasks can be adapted to the individual needs. I also learned how important it is to keep training positive and enjoyable, while always paying attention to the dog’s confidence, emotional state, and ability to cope with the environment. I am also extremely grateful for all the support I received from my trainer, Dani. He was amazing throughout the course, always communicating clearly and supporting me during the training process. He also went beyond the training itself by giving me valuable advice about travelling with a service dog, airlines, and the documentation required for international travel. Overall, I feel very proud of how far Quimey and I have come. I enjoyed the course a lot and I will be willing to do a Public Access test if it is available. Thanks tons!!!

Excellent program
I had a very positive experience with Service Dog Training School while completing the Certified Intensive Psychiatric Service Dog Training Course with my dog, Macallan.
What I appreciated most about this program was how structured and practical the training was. The course did not focus only on basic obedience.It taught us how to build the skills a service dog actually needs in everyday life and in public environments.
I would recommend Service Dog Training School to anyone who is prepared to put genuine time and effort into training their service dog and wants a structured program that covers both task work and public-access skills.

This service dog training school has made a vast difference in my life allowing me to finally relax and know that when there is no one around, my service dog will be. The customer service I received here is far from exceptional and the instructors were awesome. The response time with my instructor was always on-time and filled with positive reinforcement to let me know that I could do this with guidance and gentle nudges. I would definitely recommend Service Dog Training School for anyone with a disability who needs that extra helping hand by a fur baby who is dedicated to working and keeping you safe!

Overall an amazing experience
My experience with this company has been amazing overall, it helped train both me and my dog Arya to understand eachother at another level. The course gave great details an how to train your own service dog with lots of examples and challenges both handler and dog can learn from for everyday life. Arya was already a smart dog and has been trained by me since she was a puppy, but this course helped both her and myself to get to that next level together. We had lots of fun doing training videos together and being able to go out in public areas together showing off her new skills. Overall this experience was truly a blessing.

Being able to modify training schedules as life occurrences arise is truly a plus. They even let us stretch the schedule when the paw-pupil and handler had medical reasons for slowing the training.
The tutors are thorough and timely in their grading responses as well as any ad-hoc questions that arise.

Supervisor eventually provided a refund
Update:
After a few days and 5 emails, asking for a supervisor, the next day they provided a refund. I would have given them a 5 if it hadn’t taken 5 emails before this happened.
Previous review: They owe me a refund since I received and was charged 2 renewals for the same dog. I was planning to travel when my license would expire so I tried to renew early on the website but it resulted in an additional renewal. It also comes with a plastic card and tiny paper booklet for $70+. They are refusing to refund one since they sent both packets out.
It has been 4 emails and one phone conversation with no refund. I will update my review if I receive one.

We always strive to provide clear information on our website and to handle our students’ requests as promptly as possible.
In this case, the situation was more complex because the order had already been processed and shipped. As explained in our Refund Policy, refunds for shipped orders are limited.
Our team reached out to clarify how subscriptions work, including that placing a new order through the website creates a new subscription rather than processing an early renewal of an existing one. For this reason, the charges were for one renewal and one new order placed through the website, rather than two renewals for the same dog.
That said, we understand the confusion this caused, and our team resolved the issue two days after receiving your message through our contact form.
We appreciate your feedback and will use it to improve how similar renewal situations are handled in the future.

A Game-Changer for our Family!
First off, we'd like to thank our training tutors and for opportunity to take this course, being able to put the techniques we've learned to work. The process made us more deeply connected with our Service Dog, recognizing the traits she instinctively performed by nature and what we conditioned her to do to help us with our specific needs.
This course gave us (the handlers) the tools needed to not only better understand our Service Dog's "vocabulary" (her nonverbal cues/body language and what she's trying to tell us with a bark, a whine, or a yip) but also how to provide the feedback we need to give to her so she can better understand us. It's all about communication! In particular, strengthening our "Dog Speak" lingo was a family favorite in the learning process - i.e., when to use high tones (for playful activities), medium tones (for commands and cues), and low tones (for those times when "No" is needed).
And through the build up from "Eye Contact Training" to "Focus Training", we were able to train our Service Dog to be very well behaved in public and positively respond to all of our verbal/nonverbal cues on command. And then by introducing a response association to our Service Dog (when a medical issue arises), she now recognizes our "tells" and responds to our symptoms with either a "nudge", "crowd block" or even a "kiss kiss" depending on the condition. It's truly amazing to see our Service Dog go in action automatically, having our back anytime at home and in public.
This course has been a game-changer for us, and we are proud to be representative / diplomat of the larger Service Dog Community. Thank you!

Excellent consistent instruction
Excellent consistent instruction. Very dog positive. I didn’t want to use a training service that would be a negative experience for my dog. We were unable to attend twice weekly sessions out of town, so this was an excellent option. All the training is done with love, and their instruction was helpful and timely. A full five stars.

A professional and dedicated organization
Jack is an excellent dog and I trained him well, however, when my brother got diagnosed with a psychiatric disability and I decided to take care of him, I knew Jack was going to be helpful. When I started looking at training options, I was worried about scams. SDTS put me at ease with all the reviews, staff, and training curriculum. I was very pleased with the results and Jack aced every exam.

The course is very well organized and easy to follow. I very much appreciated having a personal trainer assigned to me whom I could ask questions directly. My dog is deaf so I had to adjust a few things, but my trainer was super helpful. I started out dreading the challenge, but very quickly I understood it was just a fun, constructive way to communicate and connect even better with my pup!

Comprehensive, supportive and doable
Easy to understand, detailed and practical training material with videos to support learning. Dani and Vincent responded to questions quickly and were very friendly and professional, making the whole process low stress. The first few chapters are short and easy, and the following chapters are longer and more detailed. Don't let that throw you off. Take notes, practice with your dog, and have a friend or family member available to help with taking the required videos.

I am very happy & satisfied with the whole course . Easy to use online training with nicely explained material , and also easily applicable for dog training & making short videos with the skills dog successfully performed.
Throughout the Certified Psychiatric Service Dog Training Course, I feel a growing sense of confidence, purpose, and connection with the material and the training process. In the beginning, I felt somewhat uncertain about how much time and patience would be required to build such a strong emotional and behavioral bond with a service dog. However, as the lessons have progressed, I’ve come to understand that the process is as much about personal growth and emotional awareness as it is about canine behavior and obedience training. Great job in making this whole experience so enjoyable!

Thorough, Professional & Honest
Witty is our second service dog — this time for my wife. We’ve been through this process before, so we know the difference between solid support and empty promises. We completed the Psychiatric Service Dog Training & Certification program using an old computer from the school, and everything worked perfectly.
While writing this review, I came across one negative review — and honestly, it doesn’t reflect our experience at all. From start to finish, everything was professional, transparent, and supportive.
Although Witty was already well-trained, I still found the structure and resources of this course incredibly helpful for reviewing tasks, reinforcing public behavior, and getting the proper documentation.
The course is self-paced, well-organized, and backed by real trainers who review your work and provide genuine feedback. It’s not one of those sites that just gives you a certificate for clicking a few buttons — you have to submit real assignments, and that’s exactly what we wanted.
We also chose to purchase the optional ID Kit. It’s not legally required, but in public situations it’s often helpful to have something to show. We were clearly told it was optional, and there was no pressure — we chose it because it makes things easier when travelling or visiting places that might question access.
The certificate is lifetime-valid. The ID card has an expiration date, just like a passport or driver’s license — which is reasonable for keeping information up to date. When I asked about the renewal, the support team immediately offered to cancel it if we preferred. They were very responsive and professional.
This course doesn’t magically train your dog — but it doesn’t claim to. It gives you the tools, structure, and guidance you need to formalize and document the training you’re already doing. For people like us who take this seriously, it’s exactly what we needed.
Highly recommended for anyone committed to doing it right.
