Sena Upgrades Do Not Work

Sena software is poorly written, and results in significant compatibility issues. Despite only buying my device a year ago, the Sena Device Manager will no longer link to my SRL headset for firmware updates. I have tried several computers, all with the same outcome. Their customer service is very poor, and I feel I have wasted almost £300.

I bought two cycling helmets

I bought two cycling helmets. They worked great for a week. then the strap adjustments started breaking. Over the period of two weeks, 3 of the 4 straps broke. Probably a defective batch, which I can understand. But then, I tried to contact them to rectify. Customer support is terrible. i submitted on line as directed and then had to call because of no follow up. On the call, I was directed to send in a lot of information about the two helmets. I did, and no reply. This is abysmal customer service. I would advise not doing business with this company. If you have a problem, you own it.

P.S. I have never left a review at at a site (good or bad) before, but this customer experience is truly dismal.

If I could give them a zero I would! I ordered an r1 evo bike helmet. Received it and plugged it in to charge. Unit won’t charge at all right out of the box. Spend time with their tech people on chat, still won’t charge at all. Connected to their customer service to send back after less than 24 hrs. I’m now in the nightmare loop of NON EXISTENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. I sent all information requested and now keep getting new ticket #s even though every correspondence I have referenced the ticket number. I feel like it will be a miracle if I ever get this resolved.

After purchasing the Helmet Clamp Kit…

After purchasing the Helmet Clamp Kit for 10S, I had to replace the helmet clamp after only 6 uses. I once again purchased one which also broke after about 6 uses. The unit itself is great, but is useless if the clamps keep breaking. I feel for the price they charge for the kit ($75), the clamp should be better made. I did contact customer service who offered to replace the clamp free of charge if I could produce my receipt, but I feel it would be a waste since it would probably break again. But, as I stated , I had no issues with the Sena Com system itself.

SENA STINKS

Horrible, Horrible customer service, Their supposed Mesh+ system sucks, it doesn't even work as good as the bluetooth. I emailed customer service the get a small plastic surface mount for a mesh adapter since they don't make them available for purchase...after 5 emails over a weeks time, they want receipts,etc....forget sena HORRIBLE

I just received my sena 30k!

I just received my sena 30k!! I ordered 2 of them . Both sets came without the headset part. So I check online what was suppose to come in the package to make sure I wasn't losing my mind and the first thing on the list was the headset . And I didnt get not a one!!! Very upset with this product now let's see how hard it will be to get it resolved!!!

Terrible customer service.

The products are pretty good but the customer is TERRIBLE. I ordered a helmet which showed available, after they removed my funds I received an e-mail that it was on back-order. No big deal, that stuff happens. I called SENA and they told me they had another model that was available and would suit my needs. I ordered and waiting weeks without the item being shipped. I called them again and they said that they were having a warehouse issue and that it would ship the next week. A month later I get an e-mail from SENA saying that the item has been on order so ling they could no longer hold funds from my credit card. I called again and got the same story, its on way! However, to this day a month a half later it still has not shipped. SENA has only answered one of my e-mails and has ignored all other inquiries. I patiently wait.....

Bought a srl2 to go in my shoei gtair2 helmet..love that it all fits flush in the helmet but thats all thats good.I bought this model for its voice activation but as soon as the bike starts moving it will not recognise the hey sena command rendering it useless for hands free use. Contact sena is just "try the boom mike","use factory reset", "send it back to your supplier"..why go on about its voice activation qualities when they are utterly useless...e250 for a bad lesson learnt..never buy sena products again!!

Sena doesn't support it's product.

The product may shine new when bought but very little tech support afterwards. Had problems updating and upgrading software. If product is older model, or you dont have receipt you wont get service. I happen to live by Sena North America HQ so I took my 10c over for them to look at and they still wouldn't look at my problem. 3 Sena units and $800 later I give up. DON'T BUY SENA. Ones man's story.

I had 2 products

I had 2 products
Both had problems and customer service didn’t care.

1st product was the Bluetooth 10S and the ABS plastic tab that connects the device to the Helmet broke. Company not interested.

I also bought the XCom Sena Bluetooth to the Nexx Helmet range.
USB charging port broke. Company not interested.
I bought this helmet especially for the Bluetooth connection.

I have the emails to prove the poor customer service.

Both failures were due to poor manufacturing design. Warranty period not a factor. Now I use a £15 amazon headphone to my phone. Better audio quality and zero problems.

Never buy Sena.

Sena 30K Motorcycle Intercom

I bought the Sena 30K motorcycle unit in March 2019. The FM radio is very poor quality and is constantly losing reception, no matter how strong the signal is or which station it’s tuned to. While using the Music feature, the unit regularly skips a track or goes into pause without any input.
I’m very disappointed that having spent over £200, the 30K is so poor in performance and have sent it back to to retailer.

Sena customer service sucks

I purchased a Dena Momentum Helmet. It’s got a problem with the visor not closing properly. I called sena customer service and I was shocked how little they know or were willing to help. It seems like sena has outsourced its customer service to some cheap cheap call center somewhere and people who pick up the phone know nothing, not do they care about the callers. Very strange

Sena's customer service

Sena's customer service is being handled by a company named Zendesk. It is now completely impossible to reach anyone who actually works for Sena. Judging by the broken English used in their communications, Zendesk "customer service" agents are located outside the U.S. These "agents" cannot comprehend the simplest of instructions or complaints, and will lie to cover up their ineptitude. Sena is either unaware of this, or doesn't care. Either way, I am so incredibly sorry that I spent the money for a Sena 30K Dual Pack, to use with my Sena Freewire, on my 2013 Goldwing. My unit does not work as advertised, and I have it in writing (from one of these "agents") that the 30K dual pack will lose its intercom ability, whenever the Freewire is turned on. I have since returned my units to Sena for replacement, and cannot seems to get them to send my replacement units to me. I don't know what the threshold is, for operating illegally, but Sena/Zendesk is pushing the envelope.

Sustainability and the Right to Repair…

Sustainability and the Right to Repair mean absolutely nothing to Sena.

We had older headsets that we bought used, the SMH10. There is a plastic tab on the bottom that helps hold the unit in the helmet mount. Well apparently these all break eventually. We've bought 3 main module units total because those tabs kept breaking, and lost one on the highway.

Anyway, the electronics still work fine, but they're unusable with the broken tab. And Sena could care less. If you're out of warranty, you cannot even BUY repair or parts that aren't readily available.

So we're done with you Sena, we've moved on to uClear and couldn't be happier with them. Should have looked into the companies more before we purchased Sena products in the first place.

Sena 20scam

Sena sells poor quality devices and the customer service is even worse. Hope they get sued for false claims and selling known defective equipment.

Of course these reviews mean absolutely nothing whatsoever, since models differ, applications and operating environments differ and there is nothing to compare with, making the ratings purely subjective.

Never buying a Sena product again

Never buying a Sena product again. On paper, their products look fantastic, all the bells and whistles you could dream of. Problem is just that it doesn't work! There have got to be dozens of bugs in the firmware. The much advertised group intercom is a joke, a complete waste of time trying to set up and keep working. Even one on one doesn't always work. And there doesn't seem to be any will in Sena to fix the problems. Instead they just keep spewing out new models with the same problems and more (buggy) bells and whistles.

My best advice if you want a good bluetooth intercom, look at Packtalk.

By no means: NOT for me to recommend to anyone!

I bought MC intercom Sena SMH5-FM and what a disapointment. It simply does not work. The Sena has a lot of fancy features according to manual, but it only works if you connect only one device, for ex. a phone or a GPS.
You get: A lot of scratching, it constantly drops connections, FM radio is worse than no FM, due to noise and weak reciewer. As intercom between driver and passenger or other riders, it is very annoying due to lots of dropouts and noise when talking. Very irritating, - and in fact dangerous because alt the faults drains your attention to traffic.
Save your money - or try to find a reliable set.
