Amazing product!

The team was lovely
The team was lovely, the whole experience was so easy, i had to wait weeks for a DEXA scan so being able to get a REMS scan at such short notice was such a relief, i will definitely return for my annual scan

Wouldn’t recommend until better support offered
Like other reviews , I have received my results and watched the videos telling me that I will get a T score etc but that’s it . Most of the other links , videos, blogs show unavailable and this is after a few days hoping they would come through . Tried to book a consultation/ chat so I could better understand my score but again this was not available . So sadly like others think this is an expensive process which needs further investment into the support given after results have been sent

I still don't know the meaning of the test results, it's not clear at all, just videos that don't relate to my personal scan. Very expensive, and feel I've wasted my money.

Waste of money
The scan was fine, but all I have is results on a website that don't really tell me anything or what to do. All these other reviews here say they were explained face to face which was not my experience. A pointless waste of money.

Cannot recommend Screen My Bones highly enough. From start to finish they were thorough, highly skilled at running the scan, and very knowledgeable. Communication was excellent. It's reassuring that they operate across numerous locations throughout the UK.
What stood out most was their kindness and patience. When my results showed an increase in bone density, I genuinely thought it must be a mistake due my recent osteoarthritis diagnosis. A false positive. Even though they were confident there was nothing to worry about, and in fact, I had every reason to celebrate, they listened to my concerns and generously repeated the scan: which showed the same result. That level of care and professionalism put my mind completely at rest.
Having a scan that is swift, safe (no radiation) and clear in showing how your bones are actually doing is a huge relief. Over the past two years I’ve had three REMS scans, and they have given me something priceless: confidence to take my own health and wellbing into my own hands.
Thanks to strength training, nutrition and a change in mindset, and better sleep, I now KNOW I am on the right path. The results speak for themselves. I no longer walk around with anxiety that I might break a bone. Instead I skip, jump, run and feel 100% reassured that I am on the right path. The strength and quality of my bones shown through the REMS scan has empowered me.

Nothing was explained about how this…
Nothing was explained about how this was different to the DEXA scan nor that it doesn’t include legs, arms or neck, just hips and spine. I’ve a partial hip replacement so they did the other side. I received no explanation of my results, just that they’d be sent in a few days. I do understand now that there is only comparable data for spine and hips but at least covering those areas means they could be compared to the rest of my body so I’d at least know how the different bones in legs were compared to my spine. Lovely people but for the money I didn’t receive what I was afteer

You are absolutely right that we should have explained upfront how REMS technology differs from a DEXA scan and what it measures. REMS uses advanced ultrasound to assess bone density and bone quality at the hip and spine, and while it does not scan the arms, legs or neck, this is by design. The hip and spine are the two most clinically significant sites for assessing fracture risk and osteoporosis, and the REMS technology is specifically validated and optimised for these areas. DEXA similarly focuses on these same sites for the same clinical reasons, so the comparable data between the two assessments is intentional rather than a limitation.
We also hear you on the partial hip replacement point. Scanning the opposite hip in that situation was the correct clinical approach, and again this is something our team should have explained clearly at the time rather than leaving you to piece together afterwards.
Most importantly, you should never leave an experience with Screen My Bones feeling that you do not have the tools and understanding of your results and what they mean for you. That did not happen here and we are sorry.

Friendly helpful staff at the Centre and an efficient process for the appointment itself and the explanations given of the procedure, how it differs from DEXA etc.

Very professional and clear explanations
Was reassuring to get another measure of bone density and the additional 'quality/fragility' assessment. Was well explained and helpful to know other factors to consider when speaking with my rheumatologist. Only odd thing was the scan was undertaken on a landing rather than in a closed room.

Radiation free procedure with in depth interpretation
Radiation free procedure which is not only low risk but can also be arranged without the involvement of the NHS. The findings were discussed there and then, but also emailed with links to very good explanatory videos.
My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that I really wanted a DEXA to compare with a previous one, but maybe that was unfair. It is too early to tell if this procedure is equal to, or will even replace, DEXA scans.

Super easy process that everyone over 21 should be doing!
All replies to correspondence prior to scan were speedy and clear. On the day my sister and I found the Leeds clinic easily and enjoyed having not just the process but more importantly the results explained face to face prior to a more detailed email. I’ll be asking the team to come up to Edinburgh to screen my clients (average age 85!) who attend my falls prevention classes who have not had frequent or detailed enough scans in Scotland!

Brilliant service
After my bone marrow transplant for my leukaemia treatment I knew I had to have a DEXA scan to check my bones however I did not want even more radiation and I wanted some quick results to hopefully reassure me. The REMs screening provided me with instant results about my bone density and quality and now i feel much more reassured. I was also given great advice on increasing my bone density. Great service. Will book again to monitor my progress.

Fantastic service! Couldn’t recommend these guys enough.
I attended screen my bones that was hosted by Martyn at Theraspace Wellbeing, Clayton West. The process was so easy and I was really put at ease by the chaps at screen my bones. The scan itself wasn’t painful or invasive and I felt completely relaxed in their care. They explained everything really well. My results were really good which I was very happy about!
Martyn was super helpful with answering any further questions I had about keeping my bone density tip top!

As a 67y old male I found the data about my bone density useful and reassuring. The T and fragility scores were well explained. My scores are ‘ok’, but I plan to repeat the tests annually, using this year’s as my benchmark. If they deteriorate then I like it that I can then work with my PT at Theraspace to improve my bone density. Recommended
