Sausageandciderfest Omdömen 

Really disappointing in this festival. The food and drink offerings were really expensive, limited and poor quality. There is no excuse for this these days with such amazing food trucks everywhere. There was no set list any where and so when the 'headline' act had finished we, like many others, pressumed it was over. But it turned out there was another act on after them that we missed as there was no communication. The kids 'tent' was a very small stage - again with no printed schedule so you had hope something was on. Very little for kids considering it was set as a family event. The music was great and it was local so a good time had but definitely wouldn't go for the food. I wouldn't go again.

I purchased 3 sausages menu items 1. The Currywurst which sounded great but the end product could have been created by a 4 year old (sorry 4 year olds) that was £8 and consisted of bargain basement hot dogs from a tin or jar, 3 pieces of baguette bread roughly chopped and a sauce that was truly awful. The other sausages were dreadful too. We only queued for an hour though.

Loved the acts but the food and drink was disappointing. Distinct lack of any real ciders and limited range of sausages. Shame given its badged as a sausage and cider festival.

Guildford Sausage and Cider Festival, Saturday June 8, 2024.

Positives: good fun tribute acts, the sun came out and scouting for girls were great too.

Negatives: unacceptable queues to get in, unacceptable queues for food, drink and toilets, also overpriced poor quality food (not an amazing selection of sausages as the name would suggest) and a very limited selection of cider too!

On reflection it felt like a cynical attempt to fleece people of their money. Nonetheless we enjoyed our day but not sure we would risk going again.

Really disappointing for 2024, queued for 1hour 45 minutes to get in, missed 2 whole acts and half of the 3rd act, even with my disabled badge in the disabled queue, which was also the family queue, children and babies all needed a named wrist band with number at the entrance, which was not organised online before the event? This was all put before disabled guests? I asked 3 times to be allowed in as I was in agony with my back as I am in recovering from cancer treatment, showing my disabled badge , I was ignored! There was not enough staff and the checking of bags was ridiculous coz some were and some weren’t checked, so you may as well have not bothered doing any!?!?! The tickets were £43 with booking fee, so not cheap, to miss acts because of bad organisation is unfair and refunds should be given! I Wont ever go again!

We attended the Sausage and Cider festival in Guildford Saturday 8 June 2014 and whilst we mainly enjoyed the day, there is cause to complain.

We arrived at 13.30hrs to queue at the entrance, as the festival advertised gates open at 14.00hrs. They didn’t allow people to enter until 14.40hrs and when we finally made to through the gate at 14.50.
As we had been waiting for so long our first port of call was the toilets. They were not particularly clean and were the budget portaloos, no flush, limited toilet paper (which was all gone by the 2nd visit) and nowhere to wash or sanitise your hands.
Our next plan was to get a drink, so we made our way the the gin bar (most bars didn’t sell spirits), only to find they weren’t serving as they had an issue with the card machines. We were then directed to another bar the other side of the park, managed to purchase a drink and headed to the stage area. When we arrived, tribute Robbie Williams was finishing his set, so we had missed him! 😡 When I asked an official why had he finished so early, I was told he had started before the gates actually opened, because they had to stick to the music schedule! Very disappointing 😡
The food and drinks were extremely expensive, perhaps expected for a festival, but totally disgraceful to be charged £20.00 for a small pizza and a portion of chips for one person and £3.00 for the smallest bottle of water, which is 49p in our local shop. My understanding is that drinking water should be available free of charge at venues that sell food in the uk!
We regularly attend the Picnic and Pop festival in Aldershot and I have to say, it’s a cheaper ticket, more music acts, plenty of portaloos with a manual flush, water to wash your hands, soap and hand sanitizer, with regular cleaning and refills of toilet roll, soap and water.

Not the best experience

If I could give it zero stars I would. Please I beg you don’t bother, every nice thing that a festival is, this isn’t. At least the weather’s nice, so that’s good.

Horrendous just over 1 hour 30 queue to get into event. Missed first two acts even though we were there an hour b4 event started. Searches were totally over the top. Will be asking for a refund—never again.

Negatives:

- Too small, you couldn't move anywhere it was a bit of a mess.

- Prices were offensive (£6.50 for a 440ml, £7 for a hotdog, mine was supposed to be Hot Jalapeno, was a plain sausage on bread, £7 for most actual pints, choice was very poor).

- Ticket was £30 for me, got nothing with that. Other than a license to get ripped off by profit greedy businesses. (Just tot yup a few beers, hotdog and the ticket and it's just ridiculous).

- Event seems to be following the trend of bleeding the masses dry of any expendable cash for profit.

- Poor choice of ciders, no local\independent stands that offered affordable and none commercial options. Might as well have been a bitte festival as that's how I feel after attending (and I am not skint, it's based on principle).

- Could hardly hear the music if you were not near the stage.

Positives:

- It was sunny

- The bands were okay

- The people who attended all made the best of the day despite the pitfalls, great crowd of people.

- Staff were friendly, and I enjoyed that they would pull the cringe shocked face when asking for the money for pints, as they knew it was a joke.

Tried to scam us with 'free tickets' that you actually had to pay for.

These were won on a leaflet that clearly states you have won free tickets. I know multiple people in the area who have had the same experience.

Glad i read the reviews here and will find a better way to spend the day

We attended the Sausage and Cider festival at Wollaton Hall in Nottingham.

Whilst the day was OK, we wouldn't bother attending again. Festival site was very small for the amount of people attending.

Despite being having both Sausage and Cider in the name, the variety of said goods wasn't really up to scratch. Around 10x ciders and maybe a similar number of sausage varieties.

The music was fine but nothing exceptional. You would've thought for the money that would've been generated from the number of tickets sold they could've paid for more actual bands though not tribute acts!

After a couple of hours we were bored and left. There are many many better festivals out there, and it's a crowded marketplace, so I can't recommend this one.

We went to this event this year and last year too … last year it was much better than this year .
The quality of the food this year was terrible , nothing had any flavour and the prices were so so expensive. I don’t mind paying top end prices for top end food but the food was definitely not top end . It was clearly all about profit this year rather than customer satisfaction, it was like once they’d got you there and spending money in that captured market they didn’t care .

The tribute acts this year were really bad , nothing like the real thing .
The only good thing about the event this year was Barryoke which was fun .

3 cans of fizzy pop set us back £9! £3 for a can of fizzy pop! From the icecream van .. the queues for cider tents were 15 minutes long , the bins were over flowing , the toilets didn’t even have a flush or any toilet paper , there was no soap or water provided , there was 1 hand sanitiser station but it wasn’t replenished during the night so an hour in the machine was empty. Vile 🤢

The event was much busier than last year too but they hadn’t hired any more space so it was very over crowded and it all just felt very amateurish .

Went to the Sausage and Cider festival at Wollaton Hall, Notts and would not go again.

Negatives:
1. Outdoor space far too small for number of people, leading to long queues at stalls and even to move around the perimeter of the event - there was no defined walkways.
2. Long queues to get into festival, shoter family queue was not clearly defined.
3. Music quality terrible, meaning it was hard to hear bands much further than 100m from the stage
4. Over priced food and drink is expected, however, quality very variable, some good some very, very poor.

Positives
1. Bands were generally good.
2. Staff polite and helpful.

We have been to Splendor a few times at Wollaton Hall, which is much better organised and although prices are similar on the day, simply feels like better value.

Sausage and cider simply lacks the buzz of a typical festival, feeling like the organisers are more focused on maximising profit margins rather than creating a unquie customer experience.

Really looked forward to this but I was disappointed. When me and my husband got there it wasn't too busy. But after an hour it was like sardines in a tin. I have been to splendour and they had another field so it was more spaced out. They crammed everyone in 1 field. The porta loos were disgusting! And the queues were massive. The bins were over flowing with rubbish and people were leaving the litter everywhere you walked.The acts were okay and the sausages were nice but the cans or beer cider and wine were expensive! I probably wouldn't come back again. We had a good time with our friends but it wasn't worth what we spent in tickets. The silent disco was good. But then it got too busy. I feel let down by this event. It could be better than splendour if they didn't cut corners and didn't cram everyone in.

Waste of time and money. The venue was grim. The “range” of ciders was poor. Sausages were from one vendor at £7 for a hot dog. I don’t understand why they didn’t do a sample platter or something like that. If you go to a cider and sausage festival you expect variety of both. There was one guy singing and a DJ. They were both alright but again… not variety. There was an eating competition which was pants too - consisted of a bunch of guys on a stage eating one sausage each with no hands… enthralling. Won’t be going again - wish I’d read the reviews before hand.

Rip-Off... £20 for a ticket that got you in and that was it. The sausages were a let down - tried two types and both tasted the same and expensive. There were supposed to be 25 types of cider, make that three. There was a band on that were average at best - and the girls tell me there was one hell of a hike to the toilets and back - all in all it was just awful, more like being back at a school disco or student night at best. We stayed for about an hour and then left - Terrible

Very over priced. The only thing the entry fee got you is into the room. There were 7 types of cider, most were flat and our of a box and tasted aweful. Sausages were OK. The music was too loud and had too much base for the size of the room. Everyone looked miserable. We stayed for half an hour and then left. Strongly recommend you avoid the indoor events, the outdoor ones may be better.

More like a student union night where a couple of people brought cider (the nice ones ran out) and an overpriced hot dog stand turned up. Band did their best but the whole thing was pretty flat. Would've been fine if it were free to get in but £15 a ticket was very poor value for money.

The sausage and cider festival was not actually a festival. The entry fee did nothing other than get you into a room where drinks were overpriced at £7 a pint, rubbish music and no atmosphere. The sausages were not great. You pay £7 for one small sausage in a cheap bap. You’d be better off going to the local chip van, getting a hot abd spending the entry fee on a nice bottle of something or a meal out. Complete waste of money. Whoever runs this event is a scammer.

£20 for a ticket is a total rip off. Poor selection of cider, bar staff standing around chatting rather than serving. Terrible sound quality - music was absolutely blaring and sounded awful and don’t get me started on the overly price sausages. We tried three different flavours at £7 per sausage but they all tasted the same - like cheap poor quality sausages
