Bought a generator online on May 19. Didn’t show up as ready to ship until May 22. 3 days later… not great and not what we expect with modern online orders. The shipping company says it tried to pickup on May 22 but tracking showed

I called the support line (someone in Asia) and they said they would look into it. Heard nothing for the next week. They obviously did nothing.
Called again May 27 to cancel since it still has not been picked up and zero confidence it ever would. Abdul promised it would be canceled and would send email… nothing… called again May 29. Ahmed said that Abdul never canceled the order but swore on his mother’s grave he would get it cancelled and would send an email. Nothing… June 1 still nothing so I finally manage to get ahold of Youssef who again promised to cancel. Shortly afterwards I got email to confirm cancellation but… wait for it… I then got notice it was picked up by courier 10 days after it was ready on the dock!!!! I called back yet again and told them I was not going to accept the shipment so they better get hold of the shipping company promptly. More promises they would do that. At this point I am out $1215 for two weeks while they play their games. No confidence at all I will get my money back without a fight.
If you try to use the chat feature so you at least have a written record it says no chat agents available (not even an option to wait in line). If you call their support in Asia you get verbal promises and no action.

I am very disappointed with my experience. I ordered an item I needed quickly through Rona online for delivery because I needed it quickly and it was showing the item delivery date for next day. The item was more expensive on Rona than Amazon but I decided to prioritize delivery. My order has been processing for 3 days and when I contacted customer service they told me that the delivery date is an estimate and all deliveries take 5-7 days therefore the « estimate » was not even close to accurate as the next day would never have been possible. When I spoke to CS they said since the label is created, I can’t even cancel the order. So now I have no idea when the item I really needed will arrive and I can’t even go elsewhere because I can’t cancel. Be careful when using RONA

Fix your mistakes RONA
The staff I dealt with were very helpful and apologetic. And they are clearly not allowed to rectify a RONA error.
Needed a base for patio umbrella. Web site says they have 2 @ 19.99.
Very helpful staff came up when I was looking, found it, took it to customer service and said one of the guys would lift it into my car as it weighed 55 pound.
30 minutes later:
It was listed as 19.99 on the shelf
It came up on computer as 49.00
They tried to find the one I wanted...could not.
No offer to honour the price that was displayed. No offer to order the one I wanted.
If your web site says you have it...then at least offer to order one when you made the error.
You wasted my timeand did not resolve your error.

As a member of a non-profit organization, I have been organizing a fundraiser to support Respiratory Health and Wellness; specifically for Seniors and young children. I approached Rona on Macleod Trail South (Calgary, AB) with a request for a donation to the fundraising event. I had a very nice conversation with one of the on-duty Managers who was excited to support our efforts. I heard nothing for a week and so I stopped in to the store to check in. I was advised that the donation was not quite ready, they would call me. Today (May 22nd), I called the store to check on the status of the donation as the fundraiser is tomorrow (May 23rd). I was advised that the donation request was passed on to her manager who did not have any good ideas for donation and so they would not be donating.
While the commitment to donate was given followed by a no we will not donate the day before the event does not impact me personally, it has a significant impact on the Organization that the donation would have supported - those who struggle with respiratory problems and the inability to obtain support and equipment due to high costs.
Rona should assess its integrity and reevaluate its priorities.
Rona customer service and chat feature do not help - 3rd party vendor information is not apparent on the website when you place an order
Rona customer service and chat feature is not customer oriented in any way. We have been trying to settle an issue and get a refund on an order that was not even accepted due to wrong item being shipped (but paid for initially) and their customer service department does not have the ability to respond with a solution or take care of a customers request. We are told that the VENDOR has not yet contacted them to issue the refund. It was news to us that a third party vendor was involved - we ordered through and paid Rona and we sincerely thought was Rona was the vendor - because nowhere on their site is it indicated that a third party vendor is involved. We have been waiting for almost 3 weeks with no progress other than apologies that they cannot help with the refund. What is a customer supposed to do?
Their chat function is equally inefficient and when you try to contact the company (customer relations) the phone number only allows for calls to dedicated extensions. It says to dial ZERO for the receptionist but the call keeps going back to the beginning. So no help there. It has been a really bad experience and from what I am reading the same applies for many others.
Waiting for over $800 refund, multiple issues with order returned
Very disappointed with Rona's online ordering. We did not know that they are a marketplace. So, we were actually purchasing from a third party. The shipping dates for a shed ordered were inaccurate and misleading. They billed us over $800 and never shipped the item, only created a waybill. Purolator two days later said they still had not received the shipment. I had to call Rona multiple times. I initiated a cancellation at which point the product was shipped. I was told I could refuse the order and be refunded. The courier quietly left the 160 lb boxes on our porch so we had no opportunity to refuse the delivery.
When we opened it, there were panels missing so the product was not useable. I initiated a return very frustrated that I had wasted two days of an installer's time to set this up. It took multiple escalations for Rona to get the vendor to initiate a return and courier pick up. After numerous follow ups, I was given a UPS waybill to return the items by dropping off 2 large boxes totalling 160 lbs myself!
I asked someone for help and the UPS driver luckily helped get the items. I had is scanned immediately and there was tracking. I reported back to Rona. They confirmed my shipment was in transit and received by UPS.
The max period for refund is 7 days. After this period, STILL no refund. I had to follow up and Rona had to escalate to the shady vendor to refund my credit card.
I was told today that the vendor confirmed they refunded me. I checked with Amex and there is no refund on our account - it's been over 7 days. I think I must have followed up on this daily for almost a month.
Rona customer service is responsive, but clearly there is a lack of integrity and accountability by vendors they allow on their platform. Had I known Rona was a marketplace I would have ordered from Home Depot instead. I thought by ordering from Rona I was safe.
It is almost a month after being billed and I am literally following up with Rona daily to get my money back. No shed, no money back (over $800) and a lot of extra money for installers and time wasted following up.
This experience has been the worst online experience I have ever had. I expect more from a recognizeable brand.

Horrible instillation services
Horrible instillation services, they claim it’s quick and easy but it is far from it. They also severely rip you off! Ordered a storm door and was told by the staff at the Strathmore AB store that the $90 deposit we paid to check measurements would be taken out of the install price which was false. I was told I would get a call within 2 business days for the measurements but it took 3 days. I was then told they would come the following day to measure. They did not and when I called to see if they came I was told oh no he will be coming tomorrow instead. Then get an estimate of almost $500 to install this door, I call to book it and find out the deposit we paid is not deducted and we we would have to pay up front and then wait ANOTHER 2 days for someone to call and book it. What a joke, I said no way and found someone who was not s complete rip off. Horrible service!
Do not trust their reviews to show the full picture
I bought an EGO two-stage snowblower at Rona a bit over a year ago. I based my decision in great parts on the reviews on the RONA website, which were pretty good for this product. Unfortunately, I had a problem with one of the batteries and a very disappointing experience with the EGO customer service regarding a warranty claim. Therefore, I wrote a review which was supposed to be posted on the Rona website. Yesterday I received an email from Rona, that my review would not meet all their "website guidelines" and therefore not be posted. The review I wrote was an honest review, no exaggerations or foul language involved. So, it looks to me like Rona does not like bad reviews for the products they are selling. That puts IMO a big question mark behind the reviews posted on their website. If they only show the reviews they like, then it does not show a true picture and one has to be careful to make a purchase base on the posted reviews. Lesson learned with those two companies.

They must think because you wasted your time driving to the store, you will buy the more expensive product. You can tell the sales staff have been told what to say. This type of business practice should be illegal.
RONA Sucks. Buy Canadian!!!!
If I could give 0 stars that would be my choice. Beware online shoppers. RONA says they will have a 'price match guarantee'. The trick is that they only honour this if the product IDs match at a competitor. Not the product, the product IDs. For example, if the liquor store identifies Molson Canadian as ABCD, and RONA identifies it as 1234... they deem this to be a different product. We all know it is the exact same thing, but since there is no universal label between competitors, they weasel out of their 'policy'. I recently bought a shed from RONA. It was $2000. The exact same shed (different in-house label) was $500 less at Canadian Tire. I inquired about the price match because it was less than a week since purchase. RONA's not so helpful customer service informed me the products were not the same. I used AI to identify the difference after trying to find it on the manufacturer's website. The issue is that large retailers often don't use the same identification for products. Some create their own, others use 'part number'. Because there is a difference in the product ID, in spite of the product being identical, RONA will not price match.

Awful delivery company, unclear information
Swing set ordered from Rona, right off the bat, delivery date was incorrect. When I called Rona, I was told the date they post as delivery date is when the item is ordered (???). Email received with tracking number. I signed up for delivery notifications. That delivery date came and went. Follow-up with delivery company - they inform me they did not have contact info for me and could not reach me (yet they had my email). I informed them I had signed up for text notification, they said it was not for their company (again, what????). I gave them my phone number. They finally called with delivery date and time which was fine. However, when the delivery team arrived, one of the men refused to put the box in my garage (the younger man had agreed but the older man refused), stating it was too heavy. They dumped the item on my driveway (thankfully it was not raining). The garage was about 5-6 ft from where they left it. So, I opened the box and moved the pieces into my garage. And then I see a big dent and scratch on my base of the swing set. It is still functional, but not what I paid for. I do not think I will be ordering from Rona again.
Avoid RONA – Terrible Service for Defective Products (Case #01378557)
I am extremely disappointed with RONA’s handling of a defective NordicTrack x16 (Web Order #42206707). Upon unboxing, I discovered severe manufacturing defects: all four nuts and holes were rusted, and one nut was completely stripped.
I provided clear photo and video evidence immediately, but RONA has been stalling for weeks, claiming they need the manufacturer's "disposition". I purchased this item from RONA, not the manufacturer, and it is RONA’s responsibility to resolve this.
Due to their lack of professional response and refusal to issue a prompt refund, I have been forced to initiate a formal dispute with my credit card issuer, Tangerine (Case #C66784).
It is unacceptable that a customer has to go through a bank investigation just to get a refund for a rusted, unusable machine delivered by RONA. I have even tried to post a review on their website to warn others, but it was rejected.
I demand an immediate pickup of this defective unit and a full refund. Potential buyers should beware of RONA’s poor post-purchase support.
