Reinforced Beds are a family run, online only retailer specialising in very strong beds and durable mattresses based in the UK. Our collection consists of heavy-duty frames constructed from the strongest materials. The range include wooden bed frames, metal bed frames, upholstered beds (including bedsteads, ottomans and divans) and bunk beds.
Our stock is suitable for both domestic and contract customers. We have supplied products to many different environments, such as large hotel chains, student accommodation refits and to the NHS direct to name a few.
Due to the build quality of our products, we have a wide selection suitable for people who are overweight and/or suffer from challenging behaviour. These products have been sourced and designed with the aim to be the solution for customers who require them most.
As well as an online retailer, we take great care in our products. As well as sourcing reliable and fantastic manufacturers to create our beds, we also manufacture select metal beds on site here in Norfolk! We also import some products directly to us, built to our own spec from overseas.

Firstly, we sincerely apologise that your bed frame and mattresses arrived in two separate deliveries, that your mattress was dragged along the floor, and that the delivery time provided was inaccurate. We completely understand how frustrating this must have been. As our deliveries are carried out by a third-party courier, we will certainly raise these concerns with them to help prevent similar issues in the future.
Regarding the assembly service, as discussed during our telephone conversation last week, assembly was not purchased at checkout, and we had not been made aware prior to delivery that you wished to add this service. Had we known, we would have been more than happy to look into whether this could have been arranged for you.
With regard to the assembly instructions, these were sent over following your request. Unfortunately, we were experiencing some IT issues that afternoon, and it appears the email may not have been delivered successfully. We sincerely apologise for this. Had we been made aware that you hadn't received them, we would have gladly resent them sooner.
Now that this has been brought to our attention, we will arrange for the instructions to be sent across to you again.
We apologise for the inconvenience caused throughout your experience and appreciate you taking the time to bring these concerns to our attention.

Fantastic company to deal with
It would be more like a 3.8* if I could. The bed is very sturdy, looks great from afar ... Except for some small rust patches on the welding on the headboard spindles. The small plastic stoppers that are meant to go in the feet can't because where the metal is folded over onto the base from the body it overlaps the holes. I've placed some offcuts of carpet on the feet instead. And the paint/coating is flaking off on the side bars where you join them to headboard/footboard. Minor things but I would have really expected better quality control and better quality materials.
The delivery was great, I was informed of my delivery slot the night before and it all went smoothly.
EDIT: FANTASTIC CUSTOMER SERVICE, SORTED THE PROBLEM VERY QUICK AND EASILY. MY BED IS PERFECT NOW THANK YOU!

Bought 2 Mattresses for over £1000…
Bought 2 Mattresses for over £1000 total. Mattresses are completely unusable, it feels like you are laying on concrete. Removed the plastic to put Mattresses in place but haven't slept on them and now they won't exchange them as plastic is off. We are sleeping on the sofas and have wasted over 1000. I have a chronically ill daughter who I got the matress for and now she is suffering sleeping on the sofa.

We are sorry to hear that the mattresses have not met your expectations. However, we feel it is important to clarify a few points regarding your review.
Our returns policy is clearly stated on our website and is available to customers before making a purchase. It specifically states:
"Our mattresses may only be returned if the item is still in the sealed packaging and has not been used (slept on). This is due to health and safety regulations."
As you have confirmed that the protective packaging has been removed from both mattresses, they are no longer eligible for return or exchange under our change-of-mind returns policy.
We appreciate that you are disappointed with the firmness of the mattresses. However, comfort is subjective, and finding a mattress too firm does not, in itself, mean that the product is faulty or not fit for purpose.
We also understand your comments regarding your daughter and are sorry to hear about her circumstances. However, if specific comfort or support requirements were essential, we would have been more than happy to offer advice on suitable mattresses before an order was placed.
Our returns conditions are not something introduced after a purchase or applied selectively. They are clearly published and apply consistently to all customers. We would always encourage customers to familiarise themselves with these conditions before purchasing, particularly when ordering hygiene-sensitive products such as mattresses.
While we appreciate that this is not the outcome you were hoping for, we cannot disregard our published returns policy simply because the mattresses have not met your personal comfort preferences.

Really pleased with both the bed and the service I received. Bed is super sturdy, great quality and was easy to assemble. When I needed replacement parts they dealt with it straight away and sent it out immediately. It's nice to deal with a company that does what it says it will do. I am absolutely disgusted by the level…
I am absolutely disgusted by the level of service received from this company. My delivery arrived heavily contaminated with a severe, foul odour of dog mess. When I raised this with customer service, they refused to offer any compensation or resolution because they "could not see the smell" in the initial photos.
I subsequently provided further video and photographic evidence showing clear darker marks on the packaging where something had been but they dismissed it as "general handling marks". They refuse to even arrange a collection of the box at their expense to verify the issue for themselves. To diagnose a hygiene hazard purely by eye through a computer screen is a major safety failure. Completely unacceptable and zero accountability. Avoid this company. While the bed frame is undeniably strong and sturdy, which is a positive, it suffers from several frustrating design issues that buyers should be aware of:
• Bed Bug Risk Due to Holes: We all know that metal beds generally offer better protection against bed bugs than wooden ones. However, this particular design is an exception. The frame has numerous open holes where bed bugs could easily get inside and nest. Once inside a hollow metal frame, they would be incredibly difficult to treat, creating a much worse breeding ground and risk than a standard wooden bed.
• Frame is Too Low: The bed itself sits quite low to the ground, which may not suit everyone.
• Impossible to Tuck in Sheets: There is no clearance or space left at the headboard or footboard. This makes it incredibly difficult to easily tuck in your sheets and blankets, turning a simple task into a frustrating chore every time you change the bedding.
It is a durable frame, but the design flaws make it hard to fully recommend.
Response to your reply It is disappointing that Bedcare Ltd spends more time writing defensive essays online than actually inspecting the defective and contaminated items they deliver.
Let’s clarify the facts:
1. The Packaging Contamination: You claim you cannot see evidence, yet my photo and video clearly showed a localized, heavily discoloured dark patch on one specific part of the box. It was completely different from uniform "transportation dust". You claim you take hygiene seriously, yet when I asked you to collect the physical box at your expense so your team could inspect the stain up close and smell the dog mess for themselves, you flatly refused. You cannot claim an investigation is "fair" when you actively refuse to look at the physical evidence.
2. The Bed Bug Issue: You claim the metal mesh is better, but you completely ignored my point. The issue isn't the mesh surface—it is the fact that this specific frame has open, hollow holes built into the design. If a bed bug gets inside a hollow metal tube through these holes, it is impossible to treat or clean, making it a much higher risk than a solid wooden piece.
3. The Design: Stating a poor design is "intended" doesn't change the fact that leaving zero clearance at the headboard and footboard makes it an absolute nightmare to tuck sheets in.
Instead of hiding behind computer screens guessing what a dark stain is, a reputable company would have collected the item to verify a severe hygiene complaint. Shoppers beware: if your order arrives contaminated, Bedcare Ltd will blame "dust" and leave you stuck with it.

We would firstly like to clarify that your original email was read in full and addressed accordingly. The images and videos you supplied were reviewed by both our team and management before a response was issued. We have not dismissed your concerns without reviewing the evidence provided.
Regarding the alleged contamination, the images show only a small number of minor surface marks and scuffs on the external cardboard packaging, consistent with general handling and transportation. There is no visible evidence of faecal contamination, significant staining, moisture or dampness. Nothing in the photographs establishes that the marks are animal waste or that they are responsible for the odour you describe.
While we acknowledge that an odour cannot be demonstrated through photographs, this does not mean that we are required to accept an allegation of contamination without supporting evidence. Customers are entitled to remedies where goods are faulty, not as described or otherwise fail to meet the requirements. However, these rights do not automatically entitle a customer to compensation or require a retailer to collect packaging for inspection solely on the basis of an unsubstantiated allegation.
In this instance, no fault with the goods has been identified, and the photographs and videos provided do not establish that the packaging was contaminated. The minor surface marks visible are consistent with ordinary handling and transportation, with no evidence demonstrating that they are animal waste.
You have repeatedly described the packaging as contaminated with dog faeces, yet the evidence supplied does not demonstrate this. A small surface mark on cardboard cannot reasonably be identified as faecal contamination without further supporting evidence. We therefore do not consider that the photographs substantiate your allegation.
Regarding the metal mesh base and bed bugs, the open mesh construction is an intentional design feature. It promotes airflow beneath the mattress, improving ventilation and helping to reduce moisture accumulation. This is particularly beneficial compared with enclosed bases where ventilation may be more restricted.
We acknowledge your comments regarding openings in hollow metal components. However, such openings do not automatically make a bed frame more susceptible to bed bugs than wooden alternatives. Bed bugs can inhabit joints, crevices and concealed spaces in various types of furniture, including wooden and upholstered beds. Metal mesh construction also offers fewer enclosed surfaces beneath the mattress and allows easier visual inspection and cleaning of the exposed base.
Regarding the headboard and footboard clearance, the product photographs, dimensions and specifications are available on our website before purchase. The design and positioning of these components are not manufacturing defects, and customers are able to review the construction and suitability of the bed before placing an order.
Finally, your suggestion that we spend more time responding to public reviews than dealing with customer enquiries is incorrect. Your concerns were reviewed and responded to directly before our public response was issued. We do, however, reserve the right to respond to reviews, particularly where we believe allegations do not accurately reflect the evidence provided or the steps taken by our team.
We take genuine product faults and hygiene concerns seriously, but we must also make decisions based on the information and evidence available. We have not been provided with evidence establishing that the packaging was contaminated with animal waste or that the bed itself was defective.
Should you have any additional evidence demonstrating the alleged contamination or a manufacturing fault, we remain willing to review it.

I do not recommend
I purchased a bed from Bedcare in November 2025 and paid £125 for delivery and assembly. What should have been a straightforward delivery turned into a four-month ordeal involving six visits, repeated mistakes, damaged parts, missed timelines, and significant inconvenience.
In total, it took six visits and approximately four months from the original delivery date before the bed was finally assembled correctly on 22 April 2026. Throughout this period, I repeatedly had to take time away from work, rearrange my schedule, work from home to accommodate visits, and move furniture each time contractors attended.
Although Bedcare repeatedly apologised and acknowledged shortcomings in the service, they ultimately refused to refund the £125 delivery and assembly charge, arguing that the service had eventually been completed. I didn't ask for any other refunds or compensations, just the £125.
While the final outcome was a usable bed, the overall experience was extremely frustrating and fell far below the standard expected when paying for a professional delivery and assembly service. A process that was supposed to take 2-3 weeks took around four months to resolve, involving untrained staff, missing parts, damaged components, repeated delays, and multiple unnecessary visits. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Bedcare's delivery and assembly service.
