I didn't give a 5 star review, I was very disappointed with the pasties, the pastry was too thick and hard, I only had the cheese and onion and it was more like potato and onion, I couldn't taste any cheese, I gave the others away to my sister and she was disappointed too, said there wasn't much filling in them, certainly not worth the money

Great tasting pasties

I was stump for a 90th birthday gift for a very dear friend . So decided on a gift from the Proper Pastry Company . My friend was absolutely thrilled to bits as he had never received anything like this before . He did mention how fresh everything was and how enjoyable .So here you go just the ideal gift for that person that has everything or like me for an elderly gentleman confined to his home to enjoy a taste of Cornwall.

Cannot fault them top quality pasties taste just like the 1s i used to get when I lived in Cornwall.
Got a mixed selection this time & can recommend the steak & ale cheese & onion & the peppered steak although I had to get a replacement as the 1st delivery got stolen off my doorstep as dpd didn't follow my safe delivery instructions but my order was redelivered within 2 days good company to deal with

Poor cooking instructions.
The first large pasties I cooked, I followed the cooking instructions and heated them for 65 minutes on 180. Unfortunately, they turned out overcooked on their base and the underneath pastry was too tough to eat. Tonight I’m cooking them for 10 minutes less than recommended time in the hope that they will be better. I’m rather disappointed that the cooking instructions aren’t correct. I feel like I’ve wasted my money with having to experiment cooking times.

Our cooking instructions are based on a standard domestic fan oven, but unfortunately all ovens can vary quite significantly, so your suggestion of reducing the cooking time by around 10 minutes is a sensible adjustment.

Really tasty turnovers
Really tasty turnovers! We ordered the mixed box of turnovers , sausage rolls and steak pies with a voucher given to us as a Christmas present. We’ve only had the bacon and cheese turnovers so far, and they ate delicious! Looking forward to trying the rest shortly.

I'm sorry to hear that you remain disappointed with your delivery.
Having reviewed your order and the courier tracking, the delivery was completed on the date you selected at checkout. At the time of delivery, no one was available to receive the parcel.
You mentioned previously that you had provided delivery instructions. However, after reviewing the tracking information available to us, we have been unable to see any delivery instructions you submitted. Subsequently, the email you sent to update the delivery address failed to also mention any delivery instructions for the order. As these instructions are managed directly through the DPD app, we do not have access to add, amend or verify them ourselves.
As outlined in our Terms & Conditions, it is important that someone is available to receive the order on the selected delivery date, as we are unable to offer refunds for perishable goods that are left unattended or for goods that are subsequently lost or compromised after delivery.
We appreciate that this is not the outcome you were hoping for, and we are sorry that your experience has left you disappointed.
