Failed to return my holding deposit after they client couldn’t wait for us too move out the house

3 months later they still didn’t have anyone in the house and offered it too us for less rent .
Really disappointed with there service and would watch them wit their terms .

In 2014 I decided to leave my corporate job in Dublin and bring the 7 year weekly commute from Bristol To Dublin to an end. I initially considered other employment roles but I realised I no longer wanted that. Then I searched on the internet for franchise opportunities. As a Financial Director and Managing Director I could not see me buying a franchise to flip burgers or clean offices. Then I came across the PPP franchise. I went to the open days and met people just like me who had done it and been successful. They were professionals from all walks of life, not slick sales people. I joined PPP at the end of 2014 when my friends and family were advising me not to. It was a very difficult time deciding to invest in a large franchise fee and 5% of my rent for 5 years. Would I be making the biggest mistake of my life? 6 years later on I can tell you it was one of the best decisions I ever made. PPP does what it says on the tin. I am now financially independent. My income matches my corporate income. I work part time in the business, just a few hours a week, as |I employ a lettings manager. My income far exceeds what I could have expected from my pensions. No one can join PPP with all the necessary skills and experiences. You don't have to. You will be mentored to achieve things you dont know how to in terms of purchasing property, refurbishing property, finding tenants and operrating your houses. But you need drive, tenacity and to bring all your life skills to bear to work with others such as builders, contractors and tenants. You are required by PPP to carry out your own due diligence. Before you are committed you have a very good idea of what you are letting yourself into including meeting local fellow investors who amazingly share the same hopes dreams and values as you do. I could go on for hours. Not anyone could do it. I have only met successful people in my area and nationally. The reason being PPP will help you really understand if this is for you or not.

We had a very interesting and informative refurbishment day with Kim – there was so much information our heads were spinning! It highlighted how important the partnership is as there is so much we didn’t even know we needed to be aware of: PPP certainly makes sure we cover all bases and don’t fall foul of the various requirements and standards for HMOs. Kim was exceptionally generous with her time and advice – and the support we continue to receive from Mike, Mahsa and everyone else over the purchase/finance issues has been outstanding. Needless to say, even with all the aggravation and disruption caused by COVID, joining PPP was definitely a good decision!

A hardworking and committed company that always has their team and their Franchise Partners at the top of the agenda. Steve Bolton is nothing but a Con man.My Brother in law invested in a Platinum Property Franchise which was full of false promises and support that never materialised.He lost money on the property he developed and had no help in buying the correct property and when approached Steve Bolton made all sorts of excuses never offered any refund and used the main excuse a lot of franchises had made a good living at a certain time you had to be a fool not to make money and didn't need him .£50k for a load of advice that is freely available and after digging he was not the only one to lose money or make what was promised.Steve Bolton is a master of marketing, hiding the truth and using the Internet to his advantage.Many franchisees were unhappy but felt pressured in not to speak up its almost cult like.If researched or speak to people willing to tell the truth he has a track record of failed investments and businesses.Stay far far away from this slippery individual.How he can look at himself in the mirror is a mystery to me a very very greedy man.

All the reviews look DOCTORED to me. Amazon was doing it at a time when sellers pay for outstanding reviews before the cat was let out of the bag, and they stopped it.

I have my reservation for any FRANCHISOR not in BFA (British Franchise Association), and the Franchise Direct that promotes PPP is not reliable. I had invested in a franchise they promoted, only to lose money.

Whoever is out there interested in franchising, make sure they are members of BFA, because their scrutiny is to ensure things are done properly.

I am going to take all the positive reviews of PPP with a pinch of salt.

Personally I get worried about a situation where there’s absolutely no negative comment at all on the web.

I was interested in a franchise with Platinum Property Partners and impressed by Steve Bolton and all the hype. But it does require access to quite a lot of capital up front and mine was tied up in the short term.

So I settled for an e-commerce franchise with Platinum Business Partners in order to maintain the connection. Run by Steve Bolton and exactly the same people out of the same office. Google that and you’ll see nothing but positive coverage.

But the franchise and the website no longer exists because it wasn’t making enough money. So they cut back on the support to minimal levels and closed it down. And I for one am £14,000 out of pocket.

In my book that’s not good. I signed up for a five year relationship with a hefty franchise fee and got minimum support, close to zero effort from my “mentor” and left in the lurch when Platinum weren’t making enough money.

As I said, same people, same office, same hype and I suspect same reputation management. Not to say that the same thing will happen to the property franchise but my experience was relentless positivity coming out of Bournemouth right up to the point that they pulled the plug and then nothing negative at all on the web even though I know others are in the same situation. And I’m £14,000 out of pocket.

Addendum: I fail to see how £14,000 out of pocket and Platinum bailing out of a five year relationship after less than a year constitutes the “best” outcome for me.

What particularly sticks in the craw is the constant videos from Steve Bolton sitting on his yacht or taking yet another holiday while while Platinum Business Partners was going down the plughole and the franchisees were losing large amounts of money.

So let’s see what they do with the property franchise when the economy takes a downturn or market conditions turn against it.

And no Emma I don’t want any more of your “support” as you rightly pointed out during the recruitment process FBA is a very difficult business to be in unless you’re part of a franchise. What I would have liked is some of my money back for the services I never received but I guess that would run the risk of cutting into some of Steve’s holiday time.

Very, very shoddy and I know I’m not the only one who thinks so and others lost much more.
