Woodstock Pet Paradise is the best…
Woodstock Pet Paradise is the best place for my dog ever. She loves going there and the staff if excellent.
Unsafe Kennels - dog broke leg alone in kennel
Unsafe conditions! Our dog got her "paw stuck" in the kennel door and broke her leg! Don't let this happen to your pet!
They are only as good as the people they hire!
My dog had marks across the top of both paws and three small cuts on the top of his head. No intelligent response from Pet Paradise. I hope they didn’t do something that will damage his confidence about going there.
I can handle the truth but not lies!
If I could give zero stars
If I could give zero stars, I would. The staff and/or policies at Pet Paradise in Odessa, Florida are incompetent and unwise. I took our newly rescued shelter dog there for a facility tour earlier in the week, and he was feisty but not aggressive, which they saw. I let them know that I had no idea how my dog would react in a group dog setting but that he had never shown any aggression toward another dog on his walks, just overexcitement. Today, I took my dog there for the free day/assessment. To introduce him to other dogs, while they put him in a fenced-in area by himself, there was a HUGE pack on the other side of the chain-link fence. He overreacted and ran at the fence, then the dogs all reacted, things accelerated to the point where he actually ended up biting one of the dogs through the fence. How irresponsible to let a dog off leash to react to such an overwhelming amount of dogs for him without protecting him or them by restraining him, or at least trying with a couple of calm dogs to start? Now I am $725 poorer because I had to pay the poor dog's vet bill because of their stupidity. I would not trust them to properly care for your dog.
Passing thru Murfreesboro
Passing thru Murfreesboro, TN and needed a place to put up my dog Barney for a day of site-seeing. Wow, this place was AWESOME. Caring, kind and professional folks took care of him and allowed him to join the group of friendly dogs for a day of fun and frivolity. I wish they were in my home town!!!
Our daughter had surgery at UVA…
Our daughter had surgery at UVA Hospital in Charlottsville, VA. We made arrangements for doggy daycare with Pet Paradise on the day of the operation so we could be with our daughter. When we arrived at Pet Paradise, anxious to get to the hospital, we were told that since our the vaccination records were hand written it was not acceptable. We live in a farming community where the veterinarian works with cows, horses, sheep, and other livestock. He is a real vet not a pet vet. He faithfully attends to pets after serving the farming community. He does not have a computer for record keeping. His wife keeps the filing system and his daughter is also a veterinarian. Our veterinarian's hand written form was not up to the standards of the aloof big city dogie daycare. We were informed that our life and death situation was not as important as the company policy.
As time was running out to get to the hospital I was finally able to get our veterinarian on the phone. The administrator of Pet Paradise told him they did not accept hand written notes, but this one time they would allow it. Thank God we made it in time for the surgery. I found out later that Pet Paradise called our veterinarian three times that day demanding a computer print out of the vaccination records. I am sure any of my computer science students could have created a authentic looking document complete with logo faster than the art teacher could have had his students create a good fake handwritten vaccination record.
On the plus side, since it was our first time at Pet Paradise it was free.
Pet Paradise may well treat the pets humanly, but they must learn to treat the pet owners humanly. A day with a real working veterinarian would be a good learning exuberance.

My pet stayed for 3 nights when I…
My pet stayed for 3 nights when I picked him up he was coughing and throwing up. I called back and they had a I don't care attitude. He has kettle cough which is air borne so that means over the 200 dogs they housed will be sick too. Please don't take your pet to the location in Snellville.
I am extremely upset
I am extremely upset. I got a phone call from pet paradise in Carrollton to pick up Togo because he was scared of the blow dryer. I said OK and I went to pick him up and ask what was going on. The owner pulled out his card and told me there was no information on him from his last grooming. I said okay, How is that my fault? I was not the groomer. Pet paradise is under new ownership and the owner and the groomer both came at me with attitude like I did something wrong because he had some matts. This is how they returned him to me. I immediately went to another groomer who brushed him out, used a blow dryer which he reacted like you expect a dog to react and booked him a apt. He licked her face while she brushed him
He's a good dog but I hope these people didn't do something to him because the attitude and yelling at me was uncalled for.
Loyal Customer NEVER Returning to Pet Paradise
After more than a decade of taking my dogs to Pet Paradise (formerly known as Enchantment Pet Resort), I have come to the realization that they are no longer the same compassionate facility they once were. The situation that occurred today was the final straw. They have failed to demonstrate that their customers are their top priority, which is a disappointment to both me and the community. All of the recent negative reviews about them are accurate, and this is coming from a loyal customer of many years.
Beware of Pet Paradise
We were so excited to go on our first family trip. I’m always anxious leaving our pets but only because they don’t understand what’s going on when we board them. I’ve always believed they would be safe at least. That is, until we got a call mid trip that Kiko, our 13 year old dog had an accident. The story we were told was that two dogs were playing and sandwiched Kiko breaking his ankle in two places. Kiko is an old dog. He doesn’t play at the kennel, he prefers to hang out with his handlers and he should not have been around two other dogs rough-housing. After monitoring Kiko they decided to take him to an emergency vet and his ankle is now broken in two places. They returned him to Pet Paradise. When we arrived to pick him up it was….here is your dog with a broken leg. They were very nonchalant and sent me without any medication, instructions, or discharge papers. I had to go back in and ask for them as well as when the Medicines were given. They told us the medicine was given at 7:30 am and that he was due again now so when we got home I gave him his medication. When my husband talked to the manager the next day she said it was given at 5 pm which means he was double dosed. I had to call the emergency vet to make sure he was ok. I know accidents happen and we deal with human error all day long but This is a company that is supposed to love animals. Instead , when talking to the regional manager Rachael Humphrey. She curtly replied “why should I have to pay you” and when first hearing about the incident told the Rio Rancho manager if I wanted to sue I would have to come to Florida. She never once asked how Kiko was doing or that she was sorry for the incident. I had never even talked about suing but I am guessing this is nothing new to them. This company is run by an investment group, the Crane Group so although the lower level managers agreed they should pay the bill and there are plenty of employees I’m sure love animals the farther you get up the chain the colder and more corporate and calculated they become. This is a warning that when this happens to your dog this is what you will get. It is disturbing the lack of empathy this company shows its clients. Even though Kiko is 13 he still has life in him and now he has a long recovery ahead of him. Please help spread the word about Kiko’s experience at Pet Paradise. more training and empathy need to be taken and chose a different boarding facility that actually understands that dogs are our family members not just a business transaction run by an investment company they can brush off the liability for. I was also told Kiko’s medical bills would be given to the “director of operations” but when I have reached out to get an update on yes or a no, they have chosen to pretend it never happened.
I wish I could give the boarding camp…
I wish I could give the boarding camp side a -zero star. The veterinarian department in the New day is the greatest. When it comes to the groomer, who also works with the pets by the name of Yvonne; I give this place below 0. I'm not sure how she has kept a job there and also why the supervisors take up for her actions. They sweep everything under the rug. I have met with and spoken to many pet owners that have had the same complaints. The pets are fine with all the other workers until Yvonne is on duty.
The rules here always change. As my husband dropped our pet off he was told they have new rules this year for aggressive dogs. If they can't get them out of the pin they will be rejected from coming to the camp! I find that funny to say as Yvonne is there. We've have never had that happen when Yvonne is not there. I guess she runs the place or pushes over the owner to make rules. If I've stressed that my dog is not used to being in an environment with a lot of barking and loud dogs, it does make him nervous and aggressive. Why place him there? I pay for a vip and they changed his reservation due to not being able to get him to come out and play, allegedly. If he doesn't wanna come out leave him alone. I'll pay for personal play time. I picked my pet up after getting a call that the manager was told that they couldn't get him out of the pin to get his vaccine. Then the manager turns around after I said so allegedly you're not able to get him out, she says no I was there. Which one is it? They told you or you were there? I had to leave what I was doing and come get my pet out for them, after stressing not to put him in the environment of 20 barking dogs and a hot kennel, with no water bowls. I discontinued his wellness plan and boarding plan. He will never be back. It may not matter to lose a customer but word of mouth is everything. They need to get rid of Yvonne, the attitude is very distasteful and ugly.
Dropped off my dog for daycare…
Dropped off my dog for daycare yesterday and looked for her on the cameras all day. Called several times to question it throughout the day with no answer. Picked her up and they could only show me she was out for 30 min the entire day. Why take your pet to daycare when they are going to sit in a crate all day. She can do that in the comfort of her own home. Will never take her back.
Wish I had read reviews first
At a minimum - uncaring
At worst - negligent
I dropped off my extremely active, healthy black lab for a first time visit at pet paradise and here is what happened:
First, he is tact, I get it... it takes extra work and other dogs don't always accept him but many do. You would have to put in effort to find out. They did not. In fact, I witnessed several times in the camera a team member coming to check water bowl or close his door to outside. and completely ignore him. Zero pats on the head. He was clearly stressed out on the cameras. This was my first visit and no one explained that report cards were extra... of course I will pay $10 to see my dog. When I inquired they said they would do it the next day. My suspicion is that they did the bare minimum for 48 hours and then worked him out hard in a small space for the report card. What I still don't know ( because no one ever bother to call me back to answer or to check on him) was there a moment of pain during the workout? The result was he was paralyzed in his back legs. I get a call from the hapless on site vet who tells me we see this a lot in big dogs and he is doing much better. He was not. I was not allowed to pick him up that night but did get him the next morning. A quick google search showed that all paralysis in dogs should be treated as an emergency. They did not. We went to an emergency vet who then sent us to UF Gainesville. The result was an FCE which requires Physical Therapy but no surgery to recover. I write this in part thinking that perhaps the folks at Pet Paradise might read it to know what happened. Certainly they weren't curious because no one ever called to answer my question or to see how he was doing. He is getting better every day. I pray that he will return to a walking around doggie if not the amazing athlete that he was.
Love this place
Love this place! I have boarded my dogs here for better part of a decade. Curt is a good man and a great business owner.
Things I love:
I have two dogs and they can be kenneled together. Keeps the feeling of leaving them while we are on our family adventures as positive as it can be, they’re together.
Super flexible. I have dropped my dogs off at nearly every time of the day, he makes a way for it to happen. I can pick them up anytime with outdoor access. Love love love that I can come home and pick them up after hours. He has been gracious to give me credits when I come home early for family emergencies and used those days towards other stays. Not a greedy man whatsoever.
He is always making improvements. I have seen this place for 10 years and the time and dedication he gives to his business to continue and make it a better place for your dogs is awesome!
Responding to criticism:
It smells. Yes, it is a dog kennel. If you let your dogs do their business in your house, your house would smell too. He does a great job of cleaning up and getting things in order but it is a dog kennel.
My dogs don’t eat. Dogs behave differently when they are not at home. It is a fact. They’re anxious, stressed, they are uncomfortable. That is what it is. They will return to a normal eating pattern when you arrive back home and they are safe and sound. Dog psychology.
He mistreats my dogs.
A video recently showed a dog shaking off its collar and him using his legs to make sure that dog went into his kennel. I don’t know this dog but the aggressive behavior of a dog refusing to go where directed and shaking off its collar, sometimes warrants using your body to make them go where they need to go. Many of us have experienced this with our own dogs or familiar dogs. All dogs are different and this was probably necessary. The dog was not harmed nor mistreated.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and perspective. If your dogs are the most important things in your life, kenneling your dog is a challenge and I would recommend not doing that. Ask a friend or a loved one. They can sleep in comfy beds, a warm home, and have people to interact with.
A kennel, this kennel, provides them with a safe place to be, a responsible business owner to oversee them. My dogs don’t love going but I love being able to leave them and go have adventures with my family while I know they’re being well taken care of.
Thank you Curt and will continue to recommend and do business with you!
This Hidden Paradise pet resort is abusive to the dogs that are kenneled with him …
This Hidden Paradise pet resort is you're fur babies worst nightmare. This man Curtis is caught on video violently grabbing a German shepherd by his / her collar and once half way in the kennel he kicks this poor pup. He is a monster and needs to be stopped. There is a viral video on FB of him doing this. Please don't allow him to do this to you're baby. The police have been notified and some other media.
I do not recommend Pet Paradise Kyle at…
I do not recommend Pet Paradise Kyle at all, the poor training of their staff and the lack of information meant that today my dogs were left without someone to take care of them while we are traveling, and after a long discussion with the assistant manager, he only ended up telling me, I accept that it was our fault for not providing the information correctly but we will not receive your dogs, a very nice new place but with a poorly trained staff and with a terrible service. Instead with a call to Firehouse Animal Health Center - Kyle with an excellent attention they understood my situation with @pet paradise Kyle and received my dogs and took care of them.
I take my dog to the Jax university…
I take my dog to the Jax University Blvd location 3X’s a week. She loves going and as she is also enrolled with the Vet Plan, it is easy to have all her healthcare under one roof.
I am very pleased and have been for 4 years!
Lied to me about my dog. Put other dogs at risk.
Let me start by saying I tried to call & handle my issues privately but kept getting the run around from management. Im not after anything. The managers need to know the staff isnt taking care of the dogs & are putting themselves at risk. They blatantly ignore behaviors & the basic rules of dog interactions.
This was our 1st visit & were excited for the indoor play & socialization. The ads seemed like it would be a good match for us. Before I dropped her off I was told that I would be able to leave her all day. After check in they said that I should get her after 3hrs without explanation. I knew if she got overstimulated she would be put in timeout. That was fine. I know that it can be overwhelming. I wasnt given any info about how she would be introduced to the yard or where her crate would be. I even called to ask where she was after I left because I couldnt find her. They told me she was in a suite.
This was the 2nd camp she has been in so I was watching the cameras to see if she made friends. She makes them easily at dog parks. I know my dogs body language & could tell she was upset. Understandable; new spot. My issue is with the pool staff. She spent the whole time sitting down. She only got up to clean a mess. Dogs were constantly crowding around her in the corner. Davey was nervous & spent most of her time hiding there. Anyone with training would have seen this & stood up. Dogs were crowding her & getting annoyed. This behavior would have stopped if she would have kept moving. After a few bad interactions the staff decided to leash Davey while still sitting on the box. DO NOT allow off-leash dogs to interact with a dog that is unable to get away. Davey was forced to sit next to someone who wasnt paying attention while a dog kept trying to initiate play. It was VERY clear that Davey didnt want to play & she lunged multiple times. It is ridiculous that after Davey lunged the staff just sat there & pulled on Daveys leash allowing her anxiety to build. She should have immediately been put in timeout & away from the yard so that she could regulate & forget the interaction. Instead she was forced to stay there lunging at dogs for three & a half minutes. When she was removed from the yard she was placed in a pen that was right next to it for 30min. She was given a suite to sleep in for her first nap but now was placed in a wet room where she was STILL being bothered by the same dogs. The staff was up long enough to clean a mess & then sat back down. Davey was getting more annoyed at the other dogs. She also came home & developed a skin rash from the pen. When out she stayed calm for a few min. but quickly became annoyed when the staff led all the dogs right back to that box & phone. They allowed Davey to lunge at dogs twice before putting her up again. It was at this point that I picked her up. I had already been enroute because it was clear that she was uncomfortable & was acting out. It was also clear that the staff wasnt paying attention to the dogs. When I arrived she was brought up by the person that was in the yard with her. She called her a boy & said he did great the whole time. She didnt mention the lunging the time out or any of the bad behavior. When I asked about her time out they said when a dog acts out they are given a 5min time out & for every other issue they are given +5min more. I went home & reviewed the footage (I started recording before I left) to confirm that she had been in that pen beside the play yard for over 30min. I have no issue with her being in timeout. I DO have issues with being lied to about my dogs behavior & about the business. Either my dog was great or she was in trouble so much that she got six different time outs (for a total of 120min??) that I wasnt told about. I NEED to know about these issues as a parent. If I wasnt watching the cams I wouldnt have known about these behaviors & may have brought her back here making her miserable & putting other dogs at risk. They care more about making money than the safety of the staff or other dogs in their care.
We are done here.
Horrible experience at Cedar Park, TX
After moving to Austin from the Houston area, we decided to book our two dogs for boarding at Pet Paradise Cedar Park. We had nothing but great experiences with the Houston Hobby location - their staff was always VERY communicative. We have a 10 year old boxer and 2 year old Frenchie, both of whom are still intact (even though our Frenchie only has one descended testicle and will be getting neutered very soon). Since our boarding options are limited, we were looking forward to a similar experience using the Pet Paradise Resort in Cedar Park. Our dogs do not get any sort of social play, but they have 2 hours a day of supervised play with the two of them and a staff member.
After a 48 hour stay, we were charged for to go baths for both dogs. Immediately when we got the dogs into the car, we were overwhelmed by the strong smell of urine. Since both of our dogs are brachycephalic, we had the A/C at full blast, but the whole car literally reeked. In the past, when we have picked them up after a go home bath, there was absolutely no smell whatsoever and their coats were always smooth/soft. This time, both of their coats were crusty and rough. So, either they were not bathed and we were charged for them OR they were bathed....which leads to my second concern....
Our frenchie's chest, penis, and testicle are all inflamed and appear to be nearly raw. The tip of his penis was crusty when we picked him up and his testicle is clearly inflamed, the skin on his testicle is definitely raw, and there was long matted hair stuck to it (which had to have come from another dog). So, if they were groomed, my concern is that the groomer did not tend to the area, nor did they care to mention the obviously irritated skin to anyone. In the past, we used Pet Paradise facilities in Houston, and the staff has always been very communicative, which is why we have been customers for so long. Now that we are in Austin, I was hoping that we would receive the same type of customer service but I am shocked at this level of negligence and disappointed in the lack of care.
If the dogs get 2 hours of play time a day while they are staying the the one-on-one suite, did no one notice the large, inflamed testicle? Was he rubbing his chest and underbelly?
Pet Paradise's fees are by no means the cheapest in town, but that is a premium we have been happy to pay in the past knowing our family is in good hands. While it seems apparent that this location is understaffed, I do not believe that is an excuse for this type of negligence.
After taking my dog to the vet, they confirmed that there was some sort of trauma to the area - both of our dogs testicles appear to have a full chemical burn. They are both visibly uncomfortable.
THE WORST PART IS PET PARADISE HAS HAD ZERO RESPONSE!!!!! Initially, the manager responded 2 days after my initial email saying, "I want you to know I have reached out to all staff members who were part of their care and reached out specifically to the staff who did theirs baths to find out what happened, to ensure we used hypoallergenic shampoo as requested for their baths. I have also requested information regarding their kennel behavior and am pulling their run card and play charts from the files so I can have a full run down on their day." Since then, the management has not responded to our attempts to speak with them.
It is now 11 days after picking up our dogs, and their testicle skin is STILL scabbed and causes discomfort when we have to clean the area. Poor pups have been on anti-inflammatory meds, ice packs, antibiotic ointment, etc. We had additional reservations reserved but cancelled them, including one that we lost a deposit on, still without any response or resolution from management. Do not risk it!!! Trust me!!!
