Our Local Tour Omdömen

We had a fantastic week exploring Albania with our superb guide/driver Agron, staying at excellent, mainly 4-star, hotels with breakfast included. Evening meals were also included - often at local restaurants.

We had a wonderful holiday in Albania and couldn’t fault the organisation from start to finish. ourlocaltour.com was extremely efficient and helpful, even automatically including our airport transfers despite the fact that I had arranged our own flights.

On our first day in Albania, before the tour officially began, we expected to have to occupy ourselves. However, our fantastic local guide, Faton, kindly arranged a visit to Bunk’Art 1 and Bunk’Art 2 in Tirana. This was a completely unexpected surprise and turned out to be an absolutely brilliant experience, giving us a fascinating insight into Albania’s history. What a wonderful way to start our holiday!

Throughout the tour, Faton was absolutely fantastic and couldn’t do enough for our group. He went above and beyond to ensure everyone had the best possible experience, particularly our elderly and less mobile members, arranging transport right to the doors of key sights wherever possible. His thoughtfulness and care really made a difference.

On our final day, we had a very late flight home, and Faton kindly arranged for us to keep our room until our 8 pm pickup at no extra cost. This was such a thoughtful gesture and another example of how much he cared about making our holiday as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

Most importantly, Faton showed us the authentic Albania, sharing its history, culture, beautiful scenery and everyday life. He helped us discover the real Albania and made the whole experience so much more special.

A huge thank you to ourlocaltour.com for the excellent organisation and, especially, to Faton for his kindness, generosity and outstanding service. He really went above and beyond to make our holiday memorable.

We would highly recommend ourlocaltour.com to anyone wanting to discover the real Albania! 🇦🇱❤️

Our trip to Uganda to see the gorillas and chimps was out of this world! Our guide Chrisopher from Kazinga Tours in Uganda was professional, informed, and polite, a perfect balance of letting us go our own way and guiding us through things to see and not miss. He often went out of his way to show us the wild animals, and knew much about their behaviours. The accommodation was very nice too, and the fresh fruit juice almost daily a treat in itself. I will be returning to Our Local Tour for another holiday soon. Thank you for a wonderful time!

Albania was not the 'undiscovered destination' that I was led to believe, in fact I was at least 10 years too late!!! However, it is a country well worth visiting, with a fascinating history, and a warm and welcoming people. English was widely spoken. The hotels we stayed in were comfortable and well located.Food is plentiful, varied and tasty. Our driver/guide was outstanding in every way.

My contact with the Our Local Tour team was excellent right from the start, from initial contact about the trip and once I'd decided to work with the team to fine tune details.
Aled was great in providing details about the trip and answering my questions. Lyn was excellent in ensuring the important admin/arrangements were in place. Working with the team was easy and they were always responsive to my needs/questions.
All communication/information received was clear and timely, providing the details I needed. I would definitely use Our Local Team again for a similar type of holiday.

Our Local Tour has good local partners in Albania who provided an excellent guide for our week's tour of the country. He was so knowledgeable and helpful in making sure we all had a great experience.

The best guide ever. If you can find a tour with Faton Cakolli as the guide, go !!!
Albania is very interesting and changing very rapidly - a good time to see it.

We had asked Our Local Tour to arrange a trip to Portugal involving walking in the Douro Valley, followed by some time in Porto. The company were very pleasant to deal with, and attentive to our particular requirements. All the various hotels they arranged for us were excellent, and the schedule of pickups and transfers worked perfectly. Nothing was too much trouble. I would use this company again for another bespoke holiday.

We had a fabulous time on our trip to Uganda in July. Going to see the gorillas has been on our Wish List for many years, so it was great to finally see them, they did not disappoint 😊
We loved everything about the trip, our guide Jimmy was excellent and all our animal sightings were amazing. We loved the variety of walking experiences, game drives and boat trips. The accommodation was also very good

It beat all expectations and created memories that I will treasure for the rest of my life. I loved every minute of it. It was very well organised, all of the information was clear, the places we stayed were in stunning location, the people were great including who we travelled with. It was clear the money was going back into the local community and was helping to protect the wildlife that we went to see. I would go again tomorrow given the chance.

Our trip to Uganda was an amazing experience that far exceeded my expectations. Uganda is a varied, wonderful country with lovely people and packed with wildlife. Our tour was very well organised and our guide, Innocent, was very knowledgeable about the country, animals and birds and he was great company. We stayed in some great safari lodges which were a much higher standard than I’d expected. I particularly liked the shower with a view of the mountains in Bwindi and the bathroom looking out on trees full of birds in the Queen Elizabeth National Park. We shared our campfire with a group of hippos, walked amongst chimpanzees and spent an unforgettable time with a troup of mountain gorillas in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. We also enjoyed visiting local villages and a school, finding out about village life and learning about local enterprises. We were warmly welcomed everywhere we went. It was a truly unforgettable trip.

A bespoke travel experience which met all of our requirements. Service was exceptional and the help and advice given was second to none. I will certainly be using this company again and will advise friends and family to use this wonderful, friendly company.

This company organised a trip to London for ourselves and two granddaughters from Northumberland.
They found an excellent price with a new rail company and the journey was very good, indeed, the non-important delay in arriving in London, due to circumstances out or their control, meant we had a full fare refund for the outward journey!

Our Local Tour organised our trip to Mallorca in April. They booked the flight accommodation and car hire. It was a great holiday and the accommodation was exactly what we wanted. Just perfect.
