I recently bought spare heads for my Oral B toothbrush.
In the past they had coloured rings so you could identify the toothbrush for each person in the house.
The new ones do not have these rings and the old ones don’t fit.
I have just spoken to Oral B customer service and they told me that they don’t supply the rings and that there are tiny icons on the bottom of the brush which I eventually found.
You need a magnifying glass and bright light to identify these marks.
I told the assistant that this was the most idiotic idea I have heard in a long time.
When the time comes to replace my toothbrush I will definitely consider going to a different make.
It seems that previous reviews have said it all…POOR
It seems that previous reviews have already said it and share the same issues.
I bought a new IOSeries 3 (Type 3769). Very disappointed.
The good thing is that its quieter than my old OralB with much less vibration in the toothbrush head.
The bad points:
1. The brush heads are RIDUCULOUSLY expensive. I accept that they're clearly better than previous models and can probably justify say 20% more but twice the price!
2. The battery simply doesn't hold its charge. Mine normally last c. 3-4 days after a full charge and will go flat without warning part way through cleaning my teeth. I can recharge enough to complete the clean by re-charging the brush for 60 seconds by standing there with a mouth full of foaming toothpaste. Not acceptable. There is simply no warning that the toothbrush is about to lose its charge unlike my previous (cheaper) model.
3. The instructions that come with the brush are APPALLING. Only a set of icons that you have to interpret. Why not actually just set up some simple instructions in every day English?
4. The packaging is slightly excessive.
Don't buy the iO
Certainly a waste of time trying to get help from P&G with the iO brush issue. Both my husband and I have these brushes. We have both experienced the same issue of the outside of the head separating from the inside. The expense just is not worth it.
Basically the same thing everyone else…
Basically the same thing everyone else is saying.
We have 3 Oral B IO toothbrushes:
- 1X Series 9
-2X Series 7
We paid over $700 for all 3 and after less than a year every single one is broken.
They don't charge! We put them on the charger, it then says fully charges, and then immediately goes to 0.
Very poor experience for customer services
My wife and I purchased two Oral B Pro 1 Model 3791 toothbrushes to replace an older excellent Pro 3 Model 3772. After many years of faultless use the new ones were a great disappointment. The battery life is very short. It is much slower. The LED indicators to warn of low battery go off after a short time then it stopes without further warning. I contacted customer services to raise my concerns. It was a very poor experience as there was a language barrier. I later had an email for a review but no further correspondence about what I thought was a batch fault.
Useless customer service!
Useless customer service, they have no interest in helping with a complaint, they don’t either bother to read the message, I’m beginning to think their response is AI generated. They have replied on 3 occasions, but not responded to my actual complaint.
My complaint is about Royal Mail, they haven’t delivered my parcel, I’m now being told to contact my courier by customer service, they know this is impossible with Royal Mail.
Issues with battery (doesn’t charge)
Issues with battery (doesn’t charge), purchased under a 60 day money back guarantee which is a lie, round and round and round between two websites, offers of repair which is outwith the original guarantee. Absolute ripoff.
Useless product, hopeless support portal. Waste of time and money
Firstly the toothbrush was useless. Full charge lasted 2 days. The pressure sensor didn't work.
Secondly when I tried to get some assistance from their support portal, it was impossible to get an answer online. I called their customer support number, selected the option for batter not charging, and the call was terminated by them saying they would send me a link to submit a repair. No link arrived. At every point their portal just went round in circles, asking me for the same information which I had already provided when I registered the product for warranty. What sort of company demands you upload proof of purchase when all you want is some simple advice or diagnostics to help fix the problem? I have never encountered such a useless facility. I am now taking it back to Tesco for a refund. It's not even two weeks old. Does not do what it claims. Avoid.
NO wonder they score badly on Trustpilot
Happy to add to the negative comments about Oral-B. They certainly don't deserve a reputation as a premium brand. I have just purchased an Io2 and my observations are. Very expensive and supplied in impressive packaging that matches the eyewatering price for what is a relatively simple electrical item :- its a pity that they didn't tone it down a bit and use the savings to include a second brush head. The tight wads only include 1. The instructions are printed in every language under the sun so you have a huge sheet of paper to manipulate trying to find the English section. When you finally do, its is pretty useless and relies on poor graphics instead of text and are at best ambiguous. My old Oral-B had a nice wide stable base that incorporated storage for two brushes , this one doesn't and the stand /charger is so small that with the brush in position is completely top heavy and a dead certainty for falling over. Finally, my old Oral B displayed a solid green light when fully charged. This one doesn't, it flashes whilst charging but then goes blank when fully charge. The only problem with this is that one doesn't know if the brush is fully charged; the charger is unplugged or possibly broken. All in all very unimpressive for the money and the replacement brush heads are VERY expensive.
Oral-B iO3. Awful toothbrush cannot hold a charge!
Having recently purchased an Oral B iO3 to replace my very old and well-used Pro3, I wish I hadn't bothered.
I charged it for 16+ hours as recommended, used it twice a day and it ran out after a week.
Repeat performance - it ran out after three days. Yesterday, I charged it for the 4th time and it ran out whilst I was cleaning my teeth this morning.
What an awful toothbrush!
It's being returned today under the warranty but I am certainly a very dissatisfied customer and would not recommend the purchase of this toothbrush.
Oral B have lost the plot
Wish I’d read these reviews before buying latest toothbrush. Got the iO series 2 which after a week started to smell despite being washed before and after use. The holes in the head trap water and gunk. Customer services reckon this isn’t a design flaw and I’m the problem. After 25 years of buying their brushes I’m done, all their brushes these days require more maintenance than my teeth.
😡😡😡😡👎
Are you taking the pi$$ with the packaging!!!😡
You ever do that again and I will send it back for a refund.
Dreadful and I do NOT recommend this company anymore until they reduce their packaging!!!👎
Please avoid
I bought an IO9 series toothbrush. It started well, but the batteries are terrible. It should hold charge for a very long time between charges, but now I have to charge it several times a week, overnight, just for it to have enough to stay on long enough. If you reach out to get it sorted, they expect you to cover the cost of everything such as packaging and returns, and if it gets lost of damaged or lost before it reaches them, then "oh well". It's done on very much a "fingers crossed" type of trust.
Such a waste of money, I'll never buy from these again. Absolute rip off. Please go anywhere else. Don't think because they are a name you've heard of that they provide quality.
lacking aftercare
this company is great product and great sales pitch, howevermessaged and emailed you several times over the past few months. and i think its shocking that there is no response and a lack customer service. i have been a faithful oral b user for most of my day, have spent a fortune on familys toothbrushes and accessories and am now 60 and for feedback due to the above am reluctant to purchase again. £300 a toothbrush and no aftercare ...shocking
Don't buy an oi series 2 without reading this
I have an oral b IO series 2, purchased August 2025. I'm disappointed in this model as I've had an older oral b toothbrush which was 10 X better. My issues are below:
- easy to turn toothbrush off due to where it's placed
- gets dirty inside the head - I rinse, wipe down with toilet paper and remove head and store separately each time I use it. Issue still occurs
- a very long charge time compared to previous model - not sure why as it doesn't seem any more powerful
- can't see the pressure sensor easily due to positioning
Some positives for a balanced review:
- you get to choose from a range of colours
- has the timer which is useful
I would recommend another Oral B model -don't by this version as it's rubbish compared to previous ones I've had.
Thanks for reading
Oral B IO bad battery life
Oral B IO range are terrible I bought 4 for my family and everyone’s brush lasts less than a days of charge. We had the old pro ones before and they still now last longer than the IO after 5 years usage.
Oral B Braun electric toothbrush (type…
Oral B Braun electric toothbrush (type 3744) is a nightmare when it comes to replacing the batteries: You need one person to press on the release points and another to pull the bottom cap off, and even then it is almost impossible. To get the cap back on and click into place, you have to press it down as hard as you can on a solid surface. The cap has now broken. Admittedly, the brush is a few years old, but replacing the batteries has been a problem from the start. Would never buy again.
An absolute joke of a customer service.
An absolute joke of a customer service.
I ordered a io10 brush on a black friday deal.
Never arrived.
I went to inform the customer services, after an investigation proving it was not delivered even though it was claimed to be, they said they would re-issue the order.
Nothing for a few days, customer services assured me the order was sent for dispatch.
They ignored my questions, still no order sent out.
They just used the same line over and over again, ignoring any other questions I asked.
Maybe they are all bots
I cancelled my order, asked to put in a complaint, nobody contacted me.
Missed out on other toothbrushes because of this.
It is like nobody cares in the company
⭐ 1-Star Review
⭐ 1-Star Review – Worst Experience With Oral‑B
I placed an order worth over £450, and what followed has been the most disappointing customer experience I’ve ever had. Oral‑B allowed Royal Mail to leave my expensive parcel outside my home, completely unattended, with no signature required. Naturally, the parcel vanished, and I couldn’t find it anywhere.
I contacted Oral‑B the very next day on 23/12/25, and since then my case (731995527) has been passed endlessly from customer service to customer complaints, then to the dispatch team, then to the investigation department, and back around again. Weeks later, I’m still stuck in the same loop with no resolution, no accountability, and no common sense applied.
For a company handling high‑value orders, it’s shocking that they think it’s acceptable to ship such expensive items without a signature or secure delivery. This is a failure on both Oral‑B and Royal Mail, and neither seems willing to take responsibility.
After this experience, I would not recommend Oral‑B and I will not be buying from them again. The lack of logic, ownership, and customer care is unbelievable.
⭐ 1/5
⭐ 1/5 – Deliberate planned obsolescence. Disgraceful design.
I have used Oral-B products for years. Older models were simple, durable and allowed basic battery replacement.
The current generation is the exact opposite.
Once the battery dies:
• the toothbrush is effectively bricked,
• standard batteries do not work,
• the internal cell is spot-welded and locked in, clearly designed to prevent user replacement.
This is not innovation.
This is deliberate planned obsolescence.
A mechanically functional product is intentionally turned into waste just to force customers into buying a new one. In 2025, while companies publicly talk about sustainability, this is nothing short of hypocrisy.
Oral-B has chosen:
• profit over customers,
• disposability over durability,
• marketing slogans over real engineering.
I will not buy Oral-B again and I strongly advise others to avoid these products unless they enjoy throwing away perfectly usable devices.
There are brands that respect their customers.
Oral-B no longer does.
