OnCallEngineers UK exceeded my expectations! Their team was responsive, knowledgeable, and fixed my boiler issue in no time. Clear communication, fair pricing, and top-notch service – grateful for their help! Would definitely call them again.

I feel like I have been robbed...

I called this company via a website IP.24h-plumber.co.uk (it was the first to come up when I searched 'Plumber Tottenham') and agreed for the plumber to attend to fix a leak coming from the washing machine. On arrival I was told it would be a £60 call out fee and an hourly rate of £265. As he was now on site and I had no eyes on the issue at hand (it was in a rented property) I instructed him to commence the work and asked for a estimate as to how long it would take - he was very unclear and said it could go over an hour and maybe two hours total. He continued working on it until I told him to stop and charged me £1994.00 for the five hours he said it took him (£277 of which was an admin fee).

I refused to pay this amount as I had been invoiced for 'unblocking a pipe', which did not require 5 hours' work. The 'plumber' then stayed in the apartment for a further three hours refusing to leave until I had paid the full amount with his office. The lady I spoke to form the office was very aggressive and called me over 20 times after I told her I was not prepared to pay the full amount demanded. I ended up paying £708 for two hours work plus call out fee and VAT and said I would be challenging the rest in the small claims court (I have since been quoted about £250 for this to have been completed).

I've now received a further invoice of £2049.60 as they have charged me for the amount of time the plumber was staying in the apartment afterwards refusing to leave (he eventually left after the police had been called). They are now going to take me to the small claims court to recover their full amount.

These guys are scammers. PLEASE AVOID.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Oncallengineers UK, and I would strongly advise others to avoid this company altogether.

I contacted them for urgent assistance to identify and arrest the source of a water leakage, which was causing ongoing damage and stress. From the very beginning, their approach felt rushed and unprofessional. Instead of properly investigating the issue or offering a clear solution, they showed little to no technical understanding or genuine interest in resolving the problem. The visit felt like a box-ticking exercise rather than a serious attempt to help.

What stood out most was that the company appeared to be far more interested in making money than providing effective support. Charges were demanded promptly, yet the service delivered was inadequate and incomplete. The leakage was neither properly diagnosed nor stopped, leaving me in the same position as before—but poorer.

Communication was another major failure. After payment, emails were ignored, follow-ups went unanswered, and there was no accountability or after-service support. When customers are facing urgent property issues, timely communication is essential, but Oncallengineers UK showed a complete lack of professionalism in this regard.

There was no ownership of the problem, no explanation, and no effort to put things right. The absence of customer care is shocking, especially for a company that markets itself as reliable and responsive.

Overall, this has been a frustrating and costly experience with zero value for money. If you are dealing with a leak or any urgent maintenance issue, do not rely on this company. There are far better, more responsible service providers out there who actually care about solving problems rather than just collecting fees.

I would not recommend Oncallengineers UK under any circumstances.

Do not use! Do not trust. Outrageous pricing. Charged £450 to turn my boiler off to make it “safe”.

Didn’t even fix the problem.

Used my routine plumber next day who was disgusted by the invoice from these cowboys. He fixed for £75.

I should’ve known to be suspicious from the insistence on not telling me an hourly rate over the phone, but when your house is flooding and you have pets to worry about the safety of, you’re panicked. I also should’ve spotted the fake Trustpilot button on the website and the alternate company name too, I’m not sure how any of that can be legal.

£320+ an hour without parts, and hiking up the call-out fee when paying through transfer- also not legal, obviously, and they should have quoted the full rate over the phone. I don’t know much about plumbing but I have had much more extensive work done at a far lower hourly rate, even accounting for the fact that this would be considered an “emergency.”

Got £80 for a 30 min drive, I bet they’re delighted.

Definitely AVOID. Great work but insane prices and they overcharged me on materials and time. Work was done under an hour, plumber wrote a 2 sentence report for 15 minutes. They charged me two hours of fees when already the job was done. 500!!!!! For less than 1 hour of total work+ engineer walking to his car+ unknown materials+ writing a fake report

Absolute crooks. Wanted to charge me £315 for s job they couldn't do. After they told me call out fee was £69. I refused to pay the full price.

I am elderly with little savings but this company used £2.000 to sort a problem that should have taken 2hrs but it was New Yesrs Eve and my sink was blocked.
This company should NEVER be used by anyone as they are not trustworthy
The’nice plumber ‘ (Leo) is involved with the scam although he pretended to be outraged by what I was being charged. We waited nearly an hour for the ‘contract’ to be sent for me to sign before work was started and an hour at the end for the invoice to be sent through.
Leo wouldn’t leave until it was paid and even took a photo ) just in case I cancelled payment when he left.Shame on this company.. shame on the owners .

Pathetic service. Lied about the price on the call and charged me over £500 for a small fix. Avoid them!

Extremely unprofessional and unethical business. On the phone they told me it’s £60 call out charges, usually that includes at least the first half hour. They sent me an extremely impolite and abrupt engineer who blocked our driveway and refused to move his van when my husband told him he had to go to work and move his car out.
He then proceeded to take half an hour with a job that literally took five minutes. And then tried to convince me to have him redo the service of our boiler that had only been done a month ago to extend the time he spent at our house.
The charges turned out to be £60 call out plus £235/hr. The hourly rate was never mentioned on the phone or the website.
One extremely disturbing thing was that he handed me his phone to enter my email address for the invoice in a chat with his office. He had told them I was ‘Asian’ and followed it up with ‘let’s hope’.
I found that extremely offensive, asked him to leave my house and wait in his van for the payment to go through. I contacted their office to ask what my ethnicity had to do with my boiler and why was that even discussed between them, they never replied.
In retrospect the disrespect, the abrupt manners most likely had a racist aspect to it.

I didn't receive terms and conditions until 2they arrived £269 per hour plus vat .
I hour and 1min classed as 2 hours.
All they told me when I phoned was that it was £69 call out. And that's all you get

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! Complete scam artists!!!

I contacted lp.24h-plumber.co.uk about a leak and blockage, and they referred me to another company. Unfortunately, we had to ask the engineer to stop before the work was completed because we were unhappy with how things were going.

The engineer was away from the property for around 25 minutes, but we were still charged at a rate of £299 per hour. We were also charged £150 for materials, but no receipt was provided. After checking the prices at B&Q, I found the items cost much less than what we were charged. There were also additional hidden fees that were not made clear beforehand.

When we questioned the charges, the plumber became rude and threatened to charge us even more. He also refused to leave until payment was made, even though the job had not been completed.

I contacted the website that referred the plumber, but the calls were redirected to On CallEngineer , and I wasn’t able to get the issue resolved.

Based on my experience, I’d advise others to be cautious before using this service and to make sure all charges are clearly explained upfront.

Company that attended my mums property this afternoon ( before 5pm). Charging £200 per hour for a very straight forward job, plus charged £69 call out , plus £45 admin fee, praying on vulnerable old age pensioners. The engineer was there less than 35 mins which included going back out to his van. Strongly recommend finding anyone else as these will rip you off.
Invoice very vague on what they actually did.

Fraud company. They told me they charge hourly £250 and the job would take minimum 1 hours so I agreed to the contract. They wasted time in diagnosing the problem when I kept telling them where the issue is which after wasting an hour, he agreed to look at it. They invoice me for 3 hours work when it was only 2 hours. In the invoice they charge me a call out fee of £65, 3 hour work of £675, material £19 and administrative fee of £113.85 and a total VAT of £174 making the total £1047 for a simple drain blockage. When I demanded an explanation of the proper breakdown, they were rude and dismissive. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

Based on my experience I recommend that nobody should go to this company with an emergency plumbing problem. I was charged 1,800 pounds for less than two hours of work in circumstances where they knew (after midnight and with a tap leaking) I had no option to call someone else in. They have been evasive and inconsistent in their replies to my complaints. Like Sid above I will seek to take this as far as I can. Avoid.

I was charged £957.72 for about 3.5 hours of plumbing work to fix a leaking tap. The invoice had little detail, and when I asked for a breakdown, the admin was pushy and unprofessional, insisting on payment before I could review it. Communication was poor and the rate far above London’s average, I felt pressured and overcharged. Guess what ontop of everything, for £957.72 the old tap was installed and I wasn't even given a new tap. Stay away from this company they are fraudulent! Lets see if they will respond to my initial complaint email I raised on their website. Rest assure, I will be taking it as far as I can!
