I used the OFX service 5 times to transfer small amounts of money overseas.
Every time it was reliable.
Also the rates were great, given the exorbitant amounts some other banks, companies charge.
On my last overseas transfer
I noticed that I had missed to add the OFX confirmation number, whilst transferring the arranged sum from my bank account to OFX.
I rang the provided OFX phone number. Straight away a lady answered. She informed me that the bank transfer usually takes a day, furthermore took note that I had not supplied the transaction number.
Her instruction were to check the following day and to get back to OFX if the transfer did not come through.
When I did check the following day, the money was already in the instructed overseas account.

Needed to transfer funds from US Bank to Spain for a house purchase. OFX offered a far superior rate which on a very large amount was significant.

Fergal Cunnane at OFX was fast and extremely professional booking the transfer in minutes and making sure the transfer got through to Spain OK (funds in my Spanish bank the next day!).

Extremely disappointed in the dishonesty of this company. My transfer was not processed in the time frame that was guaranteed which had repercussions affecting multiple parties.

There is a real person to speak with when you are setting up your account and if you have any questions. After initial set up it was as easy as doing an e-transfer locally.

Now that I had established my self and my recipient from my first transfer,the process was very easy and timely.

Every time I want to transfer money to my son in America OFX reply to me instantly and transfer to money in less than24 hours. They don’t even charge me anything for the transaction. They are BRILLIANT. I can’t praise them enough. Nigel

IT was a disaster. While the agent I worked with was helpful, at the end, the back office and compliance office were incompetent and slow. I set up to transfer a large sum in dollars to euros, send all the documents required including a bank statement which showed my name, my wife's name and clearly indicated that the joint checking acct was in a Trust. No flags were raised. I then transferred the money from my bank to OFX's bank (NYC) were it sat while I received conflicting emails stating that the money was on its way to its receiver in Italy while being told that I needed to provide more information regarding my bank. I was then told, after about 10 phone calls with them (each time an endless wait with a faulty 'call back system' that sometimes works and sometimes doesn't) that all was in order. Then I was told, a few days later that they could not accept the money from a Trust but needed it to be from a purely personal account. I was not in a position to create a new account in time to make this transfer. As I write this, the money is now on its way BACK to my account and I will need to make this transfer using an alternative method, however the dollar-euro exchange rate has now changed resulting in the fact that this will cost me personally 5000 to 8000 dollars more. Very dissappointed.

I have been a business customer of OXF for many years, something has happened in the last 6 months, with login, and time to execute deals, (maybe compliance)I have put a lot of money through them, but no more, they sadly have lost my trust and business for good. I've had to go back to Barclays to transact overseas business. OFX were originally a 5 start business, so sad!

Exercise extreme caution. I've been unable to track funds being sent between two of my own accounts via OXF, and after sending repeated messages and calling three times I still have not been provided with the SWIFT tracking code to understand (a) where my funds are; and (b) what the hold up is. Now I am being advised by OFX that, given how long this process has taken (as a result of their inability to locate my funds), when they are eventually returned they can re-process the transfer, but at my expense due to FOREX fluctuations in the meantime. I would recommend using another platform.

Quick, simple, worry-free service!

I have been using OFX for 8+ years for foreign exchange, paying royalties to authors overseas. It has been efficient, low-cost, and very easy to use. OFX recently changed its dashboard, and I inadvertently put in the same transaction twice. Gabriella Duarte, out of the London office, came to the rescue. She patiently talked me through how to send the initial payment and return the duplicate funds to my bank. She was extremely professional, very knowledgeable about the platform, and very patient.
