The team at new moves are amazing and really are the perfect removal company!
Would recommend to anyone!!

I was hoping I wouldn’t have to make a bad review as they seemed so polite in emails I thought they would sort the issue swiftly and take it out with their insurance.

I’ve done multiple international moves with other companies before, and the most that was damaged was our toaster over a 2 day trip. Our move with New Moves had 6 men, 4 vans and it was only 20 minutes between the properties. I am shocked just how badly they damaged our flooring in the utility and kitchen, they were clearing rushing and they were very rough with our white goods, our mattress also got ripped in the process because they didn’t use a mattress protector.

They tore up the flooring in multiple areas, and there are skid marks left everywhere, where they pushed things instead of lifting them.
We tried to be as polite and patient as possible, and offered to look for affordable solutions with repairs and re-adhesion, however out of the over 10 separate companies I contacted not a single one told me this was possible and said the damage was so bad it would need to be fully replaced, the flooring in the utility had completely lifted - with atleast 5 individual rips around 10cm in length each.
I contacted them immediately after they left with photos of the damage, the damage became more apparent when we had time to clean, settle in and see just how many tears there were under the skid marks.

We provided them all the information they asked for and more, for their insurance and even spoke directly to the insurance provider. And it’s now been over a month. We still haven’t received any compensation and given the amount of damage they caused they should be fully covering it, with or without their insurance. It does not feel like they’re taking responsibility and for this we cannot recommend them as a moving company, especially since their TOS covered floor protection and they haven’t fulfilled it.

For reference, because of our international move in the last year, customs paperwork detailed how much stuff we had, the exact SQF volume and weight in writing. They didn’t believe us, and quoted us for 4 vans, I asked if they felt 2 wasn’t enough then perhaps 3 vans as 4 felt much too many for 1200-1300sqft (we had under 1200sqft but we were trying to be cautious). On the day we only used 2 vans, they didn’t apologise or refund us the difference, this wouldn’t of bothered me if they hadn’t caused serious damage to the property flooring that’s now going to cost us over £1000 to fix.

Update -
Changed to 1 star. After they repeatedly said they would get this sorted, and acknowledged the damage in multiple emails, suddenly two months later they’ve told their provider that they didn’t cause any damage. Every moving company I have used before took photos before and after the move of any damage, this company did not. This is their full responsibility and they will be held accountable. I would not recommend this company, they refuse to use their own insurance and I’ve been the one forced to deal with it.

Brilliant service from booking, quotes and the move. Mary communicated via WhatsApp prior to the move and explained everything. Ben and team cared for our items amazingly well. I cannot comment how amazing they are.

We are delighted with this removal team, led by Alfie. Lovely chaps, polite, respectful of our possessions, so quick and strong. Nothing was too much trouble. They even walked our excitable retriever for us!
Alfie kept us very calm whilst solicitors wrangled right up to the minute of completion. They were prepared to arrange last minute storage, which fortunately, we did not need.
The office staff were incredibly kind, patient and supportive as we frequently changed arrangements. They couldn't have been more accommodating.
Our team were so quick: Louis, (I think), was carrying boxes up steepish stairs, 2 steps at a time! Michael ran up the stairs at least one hundred times. Ran!
It was a big removal with 5 jam-packed Luton vans. They had to wait 2 and 1/2 hours whilst completion and key exchange were delayed. No complaints. All smiles. We discovered our new house had not been emptied!!! The team emptied it into the garden for us. It took 6 of them running flat out an hour. No complaints. All smiles. When I changed where to put things, at least 20 times, they did so immediately with no complaints. They were outstanding. I only suggest that you might want to have some cash on you as you will definitely want to tip them.
Fantastic. I can't thank them enough. After an unreasonably long day, we did not shake hands, instead I hugged them all. I am not an sentimental person and we had only known them 2 days, but we were so grateful. Thank you, Kieran, Michael, Louis, Jacob, Ben and Alfie.
We highly recommend Newmoves. Worth every penny and more. Put yourself in safe hands!

Absolutely worst experience of moving with New Moves Removal. I cannot stress enough that you should not use these cowboys!

Brief outlay of experience

- Laurie came to look at my property (extremely large house)
- arranged move date
- was told a different (reputable company) were taking the job as they were now to busy - I excepted although I was beginning to worry!
- move day , a completely different company turned up!
- 3 vans of foreign people who claimed only one could speak English , although 2 vans turned up 2 hours late! plus one poor man who had been asked desperately to do the job the night before
- it became evident these guys were less than useless , plus made my 19 year old daughter so uncomfortable that she sat in her car!
- they were constantly smoking and chatting
- refused to talk to me as ‘no English’!!!
- the independent man, who was sub contracted had to try and take over the organisation as it was an absolute disaster, he agreed that they were useless!
- we were running out of time and 6 of us had to start literally throwing things out of the house
- at the new house my partner witnessed more leering over a young girl walking a dog which he said was shocking
- I wanted them to leave as soon as possible
- after they’d left and we started unpacking we realised that items were missing, mainly tools!
-they had broken a tv and damaged furniture through rough handling
- I immediately made a complaint
- had to keep chasing
- they have ‘investigated’ and said they performed to the agreed standard and offered me £50 compensation!
This is a total insult. Stay away! Terrible company. It would of been less stressful moving ourselves!

We were really pleased with this wonderful team. Communication through booking was great and reassuring. The team were perfect. Professional, friendly and genuinely nice lads. Really made moving day a better experience. Would absolutely recommend.

We booked a packing and removal service from New Moves – after seeing them on Facebook.
Laurie – the owner did a video call with us to see what needed removing and gave us a quote.

On packing day – 3 young men arrived – they were very polite – however- no one wants to be told constantly that they have too much stuff
We were told this on the packing day and removal day by almost everyone at some point.
Packing day was a disaster- we were told no wardrobe boxes were available and they ran out of standard boxes in the afternoon so went to fetch some more but pretty much gave up after that, and said they would continue packing then next day.

Removal day went beyond slow - it is clear it was vastly underestimated how much we had to move- but that was not our fault.

I had marked a floor plan of the old house and numbered them to correspond with rooms in the new house - but then the plan got lost or left behind so no one knew what box was going where?

Upstairs was done and we went to check and everything was good.
Its was 2pm and our buyers were waiting to move in.

We came downstairs and everyone had gone- my husband called them and they said they were on the way to the new house. We said there’s still a lot of items left – we were told someone would call back for it,
we didn’t have time to do a proper check downstairs as the buyers were moving their stuff in.
but we went round downstairs quickly - having to move mirrors - pictures - karcher floor cleaner - vacuum as well as lots of small items – into the garden this was not something we had pictured having to do ourselves when we had paid for packing.
Then to find they had packed the cats carrier was unbearable- even after telling them a dozen times to leave it – AND it had a LEAVE ME post it note on it .
I ended up driving for 20 mins with my cat loose in my car - which was not only extremely stressful for both of us but was beyond dangerous- what would have happened if she had got spooked and jumped in my lap or in front of the wheel? It just doesn’t bare thinking about.

All in all we feel the day was a disaster
We STILL have a lot of our items at the old property, our buyer has sent us photos of items left behind, including a Karcher floor vac and lots of tools.

On the day of moving it was raining – so the company had decided to empty 1 van into the garden while we waited for the keys to our new house – so they could empty a van to go back to collect the remainder of items – we had a leather sofa that was left in the rain someone finally decided to cover it over – but it now has a huge tide mark on it so will need to be professionally cleaned.
we have asked for the cost of the packing service to be refunded - as even Laurie the owner has
admitted in previous messages that the packing was not done correctly, he has begrudgingly offered us £200- which is disgusting considering the total disaster we endured, and the fact that they have admitted they did not provide the service we had paid ( alot of money) for.
So if we can stop even just one more family having to endure this disaster of a company then it will be worth it.

The packing service was really helpful and efficient.
The moving team, 3 super friendly and accommodating people. There were a few difficult moments during the day due to very late picking up of keys, heat, piano problems, but it all got resolved -thankfully!I would recommend this firm. Thank you Laurie and your team.

We’re so glad we chose NewMoves. The help beforehand was excellent and we really felt that the whole team throughout the experience genuinely cared about us and our belongings.
On the day every member of the team was personable, helpful, good-humoured and extremely hard working.
We have to move again in a few months and will certainly be using them again.

The booking process and follow up prior to the service was great. We added a few things to the transfer and that was not an issue at all. A massive move for us after 25 happy years in our old house. Laurie was fantastic, accommodating our date with only a couple of days notice. Pricing was very competitive, wardrobe boxes also provided which meant less packing for me.
Was advised the team would be with us about 8.30, and they were. Lovely bunch of lads, very professional, great banter, they obviously love their job and work fantastic as a team.
Before we knew it everything was loaded on the vans.
Everything off loaded the other end, the only issue we had was with our oversized sofa which would not go in the lounge because of the hallway ceiling height, bless them they spent ages trying 🤣.
All in all, they made the stress of moving a lot less stressful. Could not speak highly enough about Laurie and his merry men from start to finish.

First move in 35 years could not have gone better thanks to the organisation of Laurie and his amazing crew. From the moment they arrived, we were put at ease by their friendly and happy manner. Before we knew it the vans were loaded and ready to go. At the other end everything came off the vans in neat and tidy order. Again the guys were cheerful and chatty and made the whole exprience enjoyable. We would highly recommend Newmovesremovals.

Laurie was especially helpful in extending the scope of the removal at the last minute and the team led by Orrin did a fantastic job for us over the next two days. All the team, Jack, Dan and Mike were terrific, but if one were to nominate a 'man of the match' it would have to be Umar who just was brilliant. Many thanks guys.

Words cannot describe how brilliant Orrin Alfie and the rest of the crew were on what for us was a daunting day. Laurie fir dropping off well in advance all packaging boxes that we needed and when the day came Wow Nothing was too much trouble and they handled everything as if it was their own. Remarkable people who we have recommended to friends who are moving shortly.
