Ordered a book for a retirement party. However despite paying for the expedited shipping it did not arrive until after the retirement party.

The order was placed on the 19th and the delivery estimate was 22-29. However this is estimate is provide only during checkout. There should be some type of notice otherwise I would have wrapped up contributions on the 17th.
The book is now scheduled to arrive on the 28th. Customer support was unhelpful and not able to expedite and their status only mentioned being sent to a printer for many days. Would not use them again. Given that their website and UI/UX isn’t particularly great.

The process was easy. I had a collaborative memory book made for my spouse's 50th birthday. I opted to share a link with family and friends instead of having Newlywords send the invitation and reminders -- mostly because I didn't have a lot of email addresses. For the most part, I sent out the link via facebook messenger or text message. I thought that would make the process tedious, but it wasn't bad. The book came on time and it's nice quality. The pages are a good weight and the colors are good. I like the option to download a PDF with the watermark (free) or without the watermark (cost is deducted from the cost of your physical book).

It took a minute to figure out exactly what I could do with editing online, but someone who's a bit more tech savvy probably would have had an easier time of it. Once I figured things out, it was fine. Based on this experience, I would use this service again.

The Good: The platform was really easy to use! The quality of the pictures turned out great - I was worried that all the pictures of pictures taken by iPhones would be low quality but they weren’t. Don’t forget to convert HEIF picture files to JPG for good quality!
The Bad: The default font is really big! You could save pages with a smaller font.
The delivery to Canada is SLOW and they don’t provide tracking. They said it would take up to 2 weeks to arrive but it took a month! So it was super late for the party.
Other than the disappointing delivery, it was a great experience.

For my mother’s 80th birthday, my sis-in-law recommended Newlywords as a way to gather notes and well-wishes from extended family. I had used other sites to make photo books before, but Newlywords takes it to a whole new level. First of all, there are entry templates to appeal to all ages and demographics: folks can submit memes (the young adults in our family loved that feature!), top 5 lists, photo collages, short notes, and longer essays. Second, each invited recipient creates their own page, so there’s hardly any work for the main organizer. I did have the ability to make changes, create/edit borders and backgrounds, and rearrange pages, but the vast majority of the work was crowdsourced. I simply sent out the invitations (easy), set a deadline, and Newlywords reminded folks as that date approached. When it came time to order the book itself, I paid for expedited shipping since we were on a tight schedule, and the book arrived with a few days to spare. Sadly, it arrived on a rainy day and some of the pages got warped before I had the chance to retrieve the package. No worries…I contacted Newlywords and they sent me a new copy! I would recommend Newlywords for any special occasion: major birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, graduations, mementos from a special trip. The possibilities are truly endless!

I used Newlywords to make a hardcover memory book for my wife’s 40th birthday. It turned out beautifully. The website was easy to navigate for myself and the contributors. It was easy to edit the contributions if I needed to. The book itself looks very professional and of high quality. I would recommend this company to others looking to do the same thing.

We used Newlywords for our pastor's retirement party book at a church of over 1,000 attendees. When someone expressed a desire to make a book where people could write notes and share pictures, I was dreading the hours of manual labor that would create for me. But I went hunting for a way to do this online, and I'm so glad I found newlywords. They made the collection process so simple, so after sharing the link with our congregation I literally didn't have to lift a finger the entire collection process. And once we were done collecting making some minor edits and combining shorter notes was also pretty simple. As a graphic designer there could always be more layout features I'd love to have access to, but the ease of collection and production far outweigh any feature I'd like to see. The final printed copy of the book was great, with good quality photos, clear text and nice paper. I'll definitely keep them in my list for future similar projects.
My one piece of advice is get started early to give yourself plenty of lead time. We go started late, and so had to plan on giving him the book after the party. Next time we'll have to put our ducks in a row sooner.

Horrible experience. After meeting their deadlines and paying for expedited shipping, not only did not they not deliver our book in time for our event, we could not speak to anyone to help resolve the issue.

Buyer beware of this company who doesn’t do what they promise and has bad customer experience.

I stumbled upon Newlywords in an online search for the perfect gift for my mom’s 60th birthday. She is a sentimental person and often creates memorable gifts for those she loves. I knew she would love a memory book of her own, but I was overwhelmed at the thought of creating something by myself. After all, she is the one who is always behind the camera. When I first came across Newlywords, it sounded too good to be true. A way to invite family and friends (near and far) to contribute their pictures and memories? Customizable templates for the pages?Editing power to enhance others’ submissions? And, all of that completely free of charge until ordering the book? After searching to be sure this company wasn’t running a scam (it’s not), I selected and customized the templates I wanted to be included. It was easy to enter the email addresses of friends and family to invite them to contribute. I appreciated some of the small features that Newlywords offers, such as sending automated email reminders to contributors. After gathering all the submissions, I was impressed with how user-friendly the editing process was. There was a large selection of page backgrounds, it was easy to consolidate photos, and I could easily rearrange the pages. When my mom opened the book on her birthday, her face lit up and she joyfully exclaimed, “Somebody made ME a book!” I can honestly say this company and the finished product surpassed my expectations with its user-friendly and intuitive creation process and high-quality, durable printed book. Thank you, Newlywords, for making my mom’s birthday so special, and for helping me earn “best gift” brownie points.

Newlywords made a nearly impossible task, not only possible but impressive. I was given very little time to pull together a retirement book for a special long-term employee. I found newlywords online and decided to give it a try because I simply didn’t have time to do it any other way. It was one of the easier projects I’ve ever done and most enjoyable. The turnaround time was fantastic and the book turned out beautifully. Definitely will use them again!

I was looking at options to put together a book of messages for a member of staff retiring at work. The platform was super easy to use to collect messages - and I liked the way it gave people certain options to do this. The postage and delivery was spot on and the customer service excellent. I'd definitely use them again.

We started a NewlyWords memory book for a coworker leaving the company. We collected so many good stories and photos for her to always remember us by. The website is very user friendly and allows for cool features like generating memes and a word cloud from all the contributions. We paid for the printed version, which shipped to her without any issues.

Newlywords was amazing for a retiring colleague. She had been with us for 40 years. The option to allow people to submit their memories and photos meant so much to her. The book came out fabulous! She cried and said it was like a yearbook for her.

Using Newlywords for my husband's 50th birthday surprise was such a great decision. It's the perfect gift for someone who doesn't want a surprise party, let alone be the center of attention. My husband absolutely LOVED it and must have looked at it dozens of times in the days after I gave it to him. We were impressed with the quality of the book, both in terms of paper and picture resolution. I'd say the entire process was fairly easy once I figured it out--it's not super intuitive at first and it took some trial and error to get the process down. But otherwise, using Newlywords was ideal and I'd definitely be a repeat customer. Family and friends not only thought it was an amazing idea, no one had issues submitting their contributions. Highly recommend!

We made a book for our dad's 80th birthday and Newlywords was so easy to use! We had contributors from age 4 to 85 with no issues at all. I loved the prompts for the different types of contributions, and any questions we did have were quickly and easily responded. It's so nice to have a physical copy of all of the messages, and being able to include pictures made it all the more special. We love the book, and most importantly, it showed our dad how much he means to those around us.

The quality of the product was incredible! it was the perfect way to celebrate my friend's birthday! The process from start to finish was seamless. Wow! This checked every box when I was looking for an easy to use, accessible site to create a memory book for our school principal who is moving on to a new adventure! Loved this site! Created a retirement memory book. It was a great experience. I appreciated how Newlywords sent reminders to people. The site was easy to navigate and when I had questions I sent them to their help desk and everyone was SUPER responsive. Book came out great and I got it in plenty of time. I will use this site again!
