Nearly Wild Camping Omdömen 

Nearly Wild Camping is a subscription based service - it tells you when the next payment is due during the sign-up process. Customer service has no issue providing a refund if you forget to cancel your subscription if not using the service. I have been a member for years now and have camped many times at their location and made use of the member discounts with other businesses.

Fraudulent charges!
Caution - this company will continue charging your card no matter what you do. I took out a 1 year membership - then deleted my card/payment method AND cancelled my membership. Today I discover that they've attempted to bill me for another year's subscription/renewal despite me explicitly cancelling it and removing any payment methods. I shall be reporting this to my bank / Stripe.
To top it off, the camp locations on this site are largely trash, and many can be found by simply googling.

Looks like a scam to be honest. I signed up and Paid £24 to see what it was like as there is no way of knowing in advance. Minimal sites listed £25 a night and locations didn't seem like what I would call wild. I have an off grid camper completely self contained so this appealed. Asked about a phone app they don't have one asked if it was possible to filter by cost of site per night they didn't answer just sent a refund, no coms what so ever. Dont waste your time there are lots of decent apps around.

I wild camp regularly but was curious about this site, as the preview map they allow people to see looked like it might have lots of options in some of the trickier locations (where there's a lot more privately owned land than open access, basically). But then I joined up and found that a lot of the sites are barely "wild" by any definition; as an example, in the Purbecks, one of the few sites on the website is a bell tent glamping site that charges £90 a night. How is that "nearly wild" camping?

This company is cashing in on the fact that "wild camping" has become an Instagram thing. It's definitely not worth it and I won't be renewing my membership next year.

I had no experience with nearly wild camping but when I go their website it looks nothing but a scam ...

I took out a membership subscription to Nearly Wild Camping and by definition of what a subscription is the following year (at the date stated when I originally signed-up) another years membership fee was forwarded to them by my PayPal account. I know I had the option to message them at any time or cancel via my PayPal account or even open a dispute but I did not as I wanted to remain a member of the club. I did email them at one point about something else and they responded very quickly.

I have had no experience of the service provided by Nearly Wild Camping. I joined last year, before the Covid outbreak, because I thought the idea of simple camping in quiet places a good one, and still do.
However, today I received an email, telling me that £20 had been drawn from my account, an automatic payment set up through PayPal in January last year. I am not happy with organisations that use this system of automatic payments. No warning is given before the money is taken. I rang the number on the email, and was told that it was no longer a number connected with Nearly Wild Camping. I tried the alternative number, but there was no reply. I had no record of my membership, (inefficient of me, I know) but a year, especially one spent at home, is a long time, and I had forgotten about Nearly Wild Camping. My review is to remind people who join Nearly Wild Camping to make sure that they cancel any automatic payment they set up before they are charged. In this way, they will avoid any surprise emails.
