Hinge Design Issues
Mykita are brilliant at doing unique frame designs, but sadly they have some major design flaws with their hinges which let down the glasses. This means you'll be forever visiting an optician to have the hinge repaired or replaced, which should not be the case when you're spending EUR 450+ on a pair of sunglasses. I've owned 4 different pairs, but all with the same hinge and all with exactly the same problem.
The repair is always the same, to either replace the hinge or re-glue the hinge back to the arm of the glasses. With my last pair the constant detaching and regluing weakened the plastic so much it broke the plastic which makes it now impossible to reglue. It's also not possible to buy spare arms for the glasses, which is disappointing when we're all being mindful to reduce waste, reuse and repair, sadly this isn't possible with Mykitas..

Poor build quality, does not live up to "Made in Germany" branding
Poor build quality despite "Made in Germany" labels and pride. Their spiral hinge has a tendency to loosen up over time and open up. I owned my pair for around 2.5 years, have noticed the hinge getting looser.
Took it to the optician and while adjusting, the hinge broke. He warned me that this can happen, and has happened to other customers. He said the hinge gets loose especially on older Mykita frames. Now he / Mykita wants to charge me 50% of a brand new complete frame set just for the temple arms. Feel really ripped off.

Had an amazing experience at the Soho…
Had an amazing experience at the Soho Mykita. Started with the wrong prescription, needed to get that straightened out and the lenses remade - all my fault. Brian worked with me endlessly, patiently, to get everything sorted out through the whole process, through many adjustments, then through getting a discontinued style brought back to get me exactly what I need - both optically and aesthetically. What I have now is exceptional jewelry for the eyes and lenses that are so fine I'm seeing the world with a clarity I haven't enjoyed for decades. Highly recommended. Thanks, Brian!
