MYKITA Omdömen 

After 2.5 years of gentle use, the metal hinge on one of the temples of my $900 Mykita Nanook glasses fractured, rendering the glasses unusable. The store I purchased them at replaced the template at no cost, then a month later, the second temple snapped. I have worn eyeglasses for 35 years, including many significantly less expensive frames, and have never experienced a structural failure of a hinge or temple like this. Given Mykita’s reputation and the premium quality and price, I was expecting these frames to last considerably longer than two and a half years, as has been the case with all my other frames. Now I’m being told I must pay $205 to replace the second arm. These are poorly designed and are a terrible investment — I do not recommend purchasing Mykita frames if you want them to last.

Worked in an office that sold Mykita frames, manager raved about this brand, purchased one, used occasionally. After 3-4 yrs, temple detached from frame. Replacement for this part, $200. So much for good quality, innovative hinge free…. this part should be replaced at no cost. DO NOT TRUST THIS BRAND!

Mykita eye glasses have a flawed design (even distributors to stop selling that brand) and they don't even bother providing a long-term solution to fix the problematic hinges, even though they sell the glasses at a very high cost 800ish dollars!

Heel slechte prijs kwaliteits verhouding, er wordt beweerd dat het hand gemaakt brillen zijn maar de kwaliteit van de monturen spreken de tegendeel. Enorm teleurgesteld in kwaliteit van Mykita voor de prijs die ik ervoor heb betaald.

Zeer slechte kwaliteit, het scharnier van de bril breekt spontaan binnen korte tijd.

The worst glasses ever the arm on the frame has broken twice they are so light the fly off your face when you catch them

I went to the Mykita store in Bikini for an eye test and had a wonderful experience. The team was super friendly and attentive, they took their time to explain everything clearly and made me feel really comfortable. I’d definitely go back — the service was impeccable.

Ich war heute in der Filiale am Berliner Zoo und die superfreundliche Verkäuferin hat mir meine kaputte Brille buchstäblich gerettet (!) und dafür auch noch nichts genommen! Dass Mykita unique design macht, darüber sind sich alle einig, aber dass auch der Service top ist, das weiß man erst, wenn man dort eine Brille gekauft und sich schon zweimal aus Ver-sehen - natürlich - direkt darauf gesetzt hat...;-) DANKE!

Had an amazing experience at the Soho Mykita in NYC. Started with the wrong prescription, needed to get that straightened out and the lenses remade - all my fault. Brian worked with me endlessly, patiently, to get everything sorted out through the whole process, through many adjustments, then through getting a discontinued style brought back to get me exactly what I need - both optically and aesthetically. What I have now is exceptional jewelry for the eyes and lenses that are so fine I'm seeing the world with a clarity I haven't enjoyed for decades. Highly recommended. Thanks, Brian!

Went back for a refresh 4 years later. A great experience. Big shout out to all the staff - Diego, who spent way too much time with me, Alexis and Hao Y, for their help and their careful attention to all the details, and especially to team captain Brian who is absolutely amazing at getting the aesthetics and the spirit right. The glasses are unique and beautiful - little jewels sitting around my house. They make me smile.

Lovely to look at but Metal fatigue snapped arm at joint. Treated them well and expensive. Very disappointed, no help from Mykita not even a partial credit for a new pair.
Wouldn’t get them again.
Would love a reply from them too…??

Alles, am 01.11.24 Ersatzteil bestellt am 09.01.25 geliefert. Alles kompliziert, dafür aber andauernd Kontobelege, obwohl schon zweimal überwiesen usw.

After wearing glasses all day for several years, I cannot wear my new Mykita glasses (the most expensive specs i’ve ever bought). The left arm is loose, the nose pads have caused skin scars on my face (my optician has tried swapping them out), and hey, Mykita did not reply to my email either

I have had 2 pairs of Mikita, both times the hinges have broken. 1 pair I've had fixed twice, the other pair I'm not sure what to do with them. If they weren't so expensive it would be a joke, especially priding themselves on the hinge mechanism......I have a pair of Oliver Goldsmiths that belonged to my dad from 1978, and they are still working like new, no flaws. Take note of the reviews and don't waste your hard earned money, go spend it on real quality that lasts.

Ja, der Sample Sale: Produkte im Warenkorb und nach weniger als 20 Minuten (Reservierungszeit) bestellt. Über eine Woche später ist die Bestellung noch nicht versendet. ICH musste mich erst beim Service melden und bekam als Antwort:
„vielen Dank für Ihre MYKITA-Bestellung.
Wir bedauern, Ihnen mitteilen zu müssen, dass die von Ihnen im Sample Sale bestellten Brillenfassungen leider ausverkauft sind. Wir entschuldigen uns für die entstandenen Unannehmlichkeiten.
Wir haben umgehend eine Rückerstattung für Ihre Bestellung veranlasst.“

Immerhin Rückzahlung in zehn Minuten gesendet.

Ich bin jedenfalls echt enttäuscht. Warum kann ich Artikel in den Warenkorb legen und den kompletten Bestellvorgang abschließen? Leider schlecht gemacht! Schade.

Same issues as the other reviewers share with 3 different Mykita frames — and pair has a weak hinge making the leg droop, one pair’s hinge broke off the plastic and can’t be repaired, and one has metal embedded inside the lense for a frameless look that is rusting. They all seem incredibly cheaply made and badly designed.

After four good years with a very light, flexible and seemingly strong Mykita frame, a joint near the left hinge broke for seemingly no reason. Built with a titanium frame, I expected significant longevity. But no. I relocated from Boston to Annapolis, where there are no retailers to provide service. These frames were great when whole, but now complete failures in the absence of service. Stay away.

I've had the same experience as everyone else. After less than 2 years, the I've had the same experience as everyone else. After less than 2 years, the beam fell off. Obvious material defect, the beam fell off without any manipulation. The claim was not accepted on the grounds that it was a mechanical defect. Unfortunately it was a poor design or poor quality material. I definitely do not recommend any products from this company that only cares about marketing, but the customer service absolutely does not match the price of the product. Mykita = very low quality at a very high price.

These are garbage glasses for $700. I bought Mykita glasses at Good Eye Optometry in Brentwood, Los Angeles and the nose piece snapped off less than 2 years after I bought them and Mykita will not do anything to fix them. That’s a $700 investment completely gone. Don’t do business with this “made in Germany” fraud of a company.

What the others said about the hinge prone to breaking is true. Mine broke today. Looks like a fatigue fracture. Like how a ring tab on a soda can would break off if you keep bending it back and forth. It broke right on a bend in the hinge that would stretch a little every time you fold the arm. Wore it with care everyday for a little more than 3 years until this fateful incident. I’ve had other frames last longer through much worse beating. In case you’re wondering, an arm replacement costs a quarter of what you paid for the frames.

Good brand and aesthetics but a lot of room to improve on quality. Less marketing more quality.
