If there was minus, I would have given minus 100. I have experienced multiple import and export shipments through MSC over various years in multiple organizations. MSC messed up every single time. They take containers for a stroll around the world and take no responsibility in delivering the shipments on time. This shipping line & company should NOT be existing.

My container left Ningbo China on the 20/12/2023 and now on the 14/2/2024 it still has not reached Durban harbour. I looks like it will take about 62 days to get to destination which has a quoted sailing time of 31 days.

Mediterranean Shipping Company…
Mediterranean Shipping Company conveniently did not send the amount due email and all previous emails stated no amount due. Being new to this line, I only discovered the crucial information they withheld at the last moment. Immediately sent payment but it would take 24-48 hours for payment to reflect and for them to release the information. Ended up paying for storage because of their lack of timely communication.
Everything Agus did was top notch. Very helpful and understood all my questions that I had and also that I was a new person first time on your your boat. Thank you for hiring him.

Not a Reputable Company
This has been going on since April/May of 2023. I won a contest was given an invoice for 500 for package to be delivered tgen another 500 for security. They only accept bitcoin...was given a bitcoin wallet to send 500 to. Then there was an 8000 fee for customs and lack of insurance then another 500 for security. Then 5000 to get the package from the police because box was confiscated. They could provide no reports. Then if I wanted package and refund fed ex it would cost another 1500. I have spent over 15k for package. Then they said they couldn't fedex package I would be out all the fees. All their trucks were in maintenance at the same time for close to two months. They were scheduled to deliver package last Thursday...we had to pay another 500 in bitcoin for security. Today 11/9 they were to delivery via truckk said package by 2pm EST. We called at 3:30 to find out package would not be delivered today because, truck broke down again! Now we are going to meet them somewhere to get the package and refund!. I'm not sure how they stay in business. They refused to fedex package to me after saying they would. This is not a reputable company in my opinion they did not provide any tracking information for package. Fee was paid to have package fed ex...refused to fedex the package. Had to go to Boston to pick up package.

MSC IS THE WORST
Our shipping instruction cutoff was 9/8 at 4pm EST.
On 9/7 at 5:26pm EST they changed their SI cutoff to the same day 9/7 at 4pm EST.
Then rolled our bookings due to missing the SI cutoff. A gross violation of FMC regulations for reasonable notice.
This is a horrible shipping company.

MSC SHIPPING is the Worst Shipping Co that I have used so far. I advise you to keep away from them as they have a poor BL Telex Release system which drives you crazy. Too much documentation and time wasting. Krgds

The worst ever
The worst ever, pathetic shipping company. I had a container which was supposed to be shipped in 30 days. But this bloody MSC shipping company took 60 days (almost the double) for the container to reach the destination. Inspite of sending emails and everything, there was no response, as usual. Do not believe this fraud company. They do not understand the time value and the importance. Worst shipping company I had come across. Never trust this shipping company.

MSC have always been a challenge
MSC have always been a challenge. I've been in the business since Summer of '96 and know my shipping lines. For the last decade or so they insist on creating so much red tape to obtain a shipment (release or delivery) its probably easier to get a council house.
They have now installed a new online portal so they can get rid of a few pesky release team members and make you do the work for them instead. However, it is so uninformative that you have to ring up to find out what the heck is going on. The inevitable answer is that some miscellaneous form needs to be filled out. That's if the online system is working that is... today I received my verification code to login (yes this happens every time you login) half an hour after I requested it. It had timed out, obviously so I had to try again.
They still ask for a 48 hour period to turn over a release. And only give 5 days from vessel arrival freetime. You can see where I am going with this.
Yes they do offer services for almost every port in the world it seems, but the trade off is that you will rarely see these come in on time and not all of them are direct. I have had to do some tracking down detective work on nearly every South African shipment I've ever had through MSC. Last week I had one that actually arrived on the first transhipped vessel instead of the 2nd or 3rd attempt. I nearly wept.
Anyway TLDR use any other shipping line if you can. MSC are total Pony.

Really a big fat Zero
Really a big fat 0. I can’t believe they’ve been in business so long and from the looks of it have been rotten at it. Aside from the good employees (and only they know who they are) it sucks big time. Customers are treated by some of the phone workers like the unemployment government workers used to treat the recipients: with disdain. I truly believe they are scamming in assessing late fees, delaying abilities for customers to pick up their cargo for the slightest reason so they can collect additional fees. Can anyone recommend a good honest alternative? Someone is getting paid off there. But the FDA and Customs are even worse. It all needs serious overhauling.

This may be the worst company I’ve ever encountered. All shipping lines are pretty slow moving but this company takes the cake for being absolutely horrible.
I have incurred charges time and time again for their negligence. They don’t care what happens as long as they get paid. Shipping charges, storage charges, admin charges, XYZ charges. They’re all a bunch of crooks.
Do yourself a favour and choose any other shipping company you can because they’re not worth the headache or the financial strain.
One sick port worker
One sick port worker, and they use Clause 19.1.C of the BL terms, which say that they can leave the container at any port for us to pick up. We must bear the extra costs of picking up the container in a different port than we booked. They refuse to pay part of the extra costs. Costing us several thousends extra.
