I called Moving Ally to request movers for furniture to be moved from a house in Cranston RI to a house in Warwick RI. that I will be moving into. Both towns right next to each other. Moving Ally was helpful before the move and sent numerous emails and some calls to provide me with the info I needed. I filled out my information about the move online. I needed help with a bedroom set, a recliner, a small chair and a couple of lamps. I did not need any packing. Furniture was on the first floor of both houses, and I told them my house had a few steps to the first floor (raised ranch). I paid a $90. deposit, which was supposed to come off my total price. $150./hour for an estimated 3 hours with 2 movers. I was not told about any additional fees. Unfortunately, they picked Northup Advance Movers and there were a couple of problems the day of the move, and when I later tried to contact Moving Ally I had trouble getting them on the phone, and they didn't answer my emails. When I finally did get them on the phone, they just told me to contact the movers and left me to deal with them. The movers had come but the truck was late and then when it did arrive, it was taken back out again, by a third, head mover on crutches who left "to get blankets". I told them I had some they could use, but they declined. That left the other 2 movers to Saran Wrap all the furniture, including the mattress and box spring, and then sit around waiting for the truck. When the truck did finally come back, it turned out there was a lock on the back and they didn't have the right key. They tried hammering it off for a while, until a neighbor finally walked over with a bolt cutter for them to use. I had to pay them in cash after the truck was loaded and unloaded, at the end.
It took over four hours and cost me $800. And I gave a $100 tip for the 3 of them. When I requested a receipt, the head mover did not give me even a written one for the cash payment and told me his boss would email the receipt to me right away. He did not. I tried calling Moving Ally to ask about that and my deposit, which I had given them. When I finally did reach them after a couple of days of nobody answering the phones, getting disconnected, and no answer to emails, they told me to call the movers. The owner/boss at the moving place called eventually after a couple more days and wasn't very happy about having to call. He argued with me and gave me a hard time until I told him what actually happened that day. I told him that I only wanted a receipt and my deposit back and he finally said he'd send the deposit back to my bank right after July 4th, because the bank was closed. Now it's over a week later since I spoke to him and I tried calling the company today. I asked for the boss. The person that answered refused to tell me who he was, the full name of his boss, and was extremely rude to me, telling me he was too busy to talk to me. He sounded like the same guy! That was the last straw for me! And Moving Ally? They had said they would call me, and I never heard back from them. I was going to call them and see if they could move the rest of my things to the house I'm moving into. Obviously not now.
The young sweet nice lady that took my call was very professional efficient and nice.. She would respond me text messages very quickly would definitely recommended the service again .. we need more reps like her ❤️ she was definitely a big help i hope she gets a raise… Thank you young lady

The movers were friendly, efficient, and very good at their job. They made the move go smoothly and effortlessly. Thank you for a great experience.
The movers were three hours late and couldn’t move everything listed on the inventory because of a vehicle change…all easily forgiven due to the weather. However, the poor attitude and rude behavior made it difficult. Then I was charged a $150 transportation fee from both the booking company and the arriving company; this was in addition to the charge for the hour travel both ways from Ohio. Lastly, my $225 hold fee was “unaccounted for” the driver was unable to explain the reason for the additional $150 or missing $225 deposit fee, yet insisted I was not being fully charged for the work he and his “employee” performed. The only positive experience was the care for my belongings from the associate helping the lead mover. I did not provide names because I believe this is the business atmosphere not just the poor behaviors and ethics of the Third-party vendor. I do not recommend this company. Lastly, the lead mover argued he was providing the best price and stated “I’m not trying to rape you” when negotiating the final costs. I was disgusted and just wanted to settle the fees to end the conversation with this unprofessional company representative.
The old rule applies " You get what you pay for" they are affordable. After many email, calls and text msgs trying to find out what time they would arrive on the moving day for 2 days they finally got back to me. I would not recommend this moving company, they left the legges to the bed behind, they did not keep the power cords for an adjustable bed with the bed still cant find them. My office desk they removed screws and when setup they did not put the screws back in also missing a couple of screw in feet on the desk legs.

I had walked outside because I saw that they were leaving and I had said aren’t you you gonna put the stuff that you took apart back together? They said yes and then continue to drive off leaving everything in my house in shambles. Do not use this company. It is a scam entirely.
I would advise everyone to stay away from Moving Ally. This company is dishonest, inconsiderate, and lacks all customer service skills. My experience is too long to convey in this review. However, here are the highlights, I hired Moving Ally for a local move, scheduled to occur on August 29th. I was quoted two – 26ft trucks and four movers. Movers were scheduled to be at my house at 9am. 9am - there were no movers and no trucks. At 10:30am, I had 3 movers and no trucks. Two of the three movers, left to get two u-haul trucks, but they never returned. I found out that Moving Ally had contracted my move to an OUT-OF -STATE company. And this company had advertised for movers on Facebook and Craigs List. THESE PEOPLE (NOT VETTED) WERE IN MY HOUSE. Needless to say, the move did not occur. The owner of the Out-of-State company demand that I compensate him for the move even though it did not occur. The Out of State Owner began calling and texting me demanding money for the move that did not occur. When I blocked his number, he started calling me from two different phone numbers. He threatened to send guys to my house in the middle of the night with “Guns Locked and Loaded”. He referred to me as a stupid b---h. I went to the local police department to report the incident. These threats continued for days. At this point, I am out $1225 on a move that did not occur.
I finally got in touch with Lillie (Moving Ally), she was able to get a local company to move me on August 31st. This company showed up on time. However, the concerns that I specifically mention to the sales rep (Oscar), where the very concerns that were issues with the second company. One being my pool table that three weeks later is still not re-assembled.
Lillie and Jason (both from Moving Ally) gave me their phone number for follow-up. There were three things that I requested: 1) Details on the first company so that I could file charges (2) my pool table assembled (3) the $525 deposit refunded (which both Lillie and Jason promised to return).
Each time I’ve called neither Lillie or Jason will answer. Additionally, they will not respond to email. Moving Ally clearly does not care about the customers – STAY AWAY.
Not a very far move, but it wasn’t a small one either. Overall it was a pleasant experience. The crew that Moving Ally assigned were professional and honest, so no complaints from me.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE A BUNCH OF SCAMMERS!!!!!!!! I BOOKED MY MOVE A MONTH IN ADVANCE AND PUT DOWN A $150 DEPOSIT. I THOUGHT THIS WAS GREAT I GOT A TERRIFIC RATE SINCE I WAS ONLY MOVING 20 MILES. THEY OUTSOURCE THE MOVERS. THE FIRST COMPANY THAT CALLED WOULDN'T ACCEPT THE RATE THAT I WAS GIVEN AND WANTED MORE MONEY. I CALLED AND WAS TOLD I WOULD GET ANOTHER MOVER AND THEY WOULD CALL ME 2-3 DAYS BEFORE MY MOVE. THE MOVING COMPANY CALLED AND SAID THAT HE WILL BE AT MY HOUSE AT 8:30 FRIDAY MORNING. AT 8:30 THURSDAY NIGHT ANTHONY (THE MOVER) SAID THAT HE WAS RUNNING BEHIND AND CAN HE MOVE ME ON SATURDAY AT 8:3O. i SAID SURE. AT 8:30 THE NEXT MORNING HE TEXTED ME THAT HE WAS RUNNING LATE DUE TO AN ACCIDENT. AT 9:30 HE TEXTED AND SAID HE WAS AN HOUR AWAY. AT 10:30 HE SAID HE WAS 20 MINUTES AWAY. AT 12:00 I TEXTED HIM AND ASKED HIM WHERE HE WAS AND SAID THAT HE COULDN'T MOVE ME SORRY FOR THE INCONVIENCE. I HAD TO MOVE OUT OF MY HOUSE THAT DAY. I GOT A U-HAUL TRUCK AND ME, MY SON AND HIS FRIENDS MOVED ME. IT TOOK ALL DAY. TRYING TO GET IN TOUCH WITH MOVING ALLY TO COMPLAIN, THE PHONE JUST RINGS. I CALLED LILLIE I GOT HER CELL PHONE NUMBER FROM THE FIRST MOVER AND TEXTED HER AND SHE WANTED TO KNOW WHY I WAS CALLING HER PERSONAL NUMBER AND THAT SHE WOULD TRY TO GET MY DEPOIST BACK. I HAD ALREADY PUT IN A DISPUTE WITH MY BANK. THANK GOD I SAVED ALL MY TEXT MESSAGES TO SHOW THE BANK FOR MY DEPOIST.
RUN AND DON'T USE THESE PEOPLE. IT'S BETTER TO PAY MORE AND HAVE A PEACE OF MIND
Eric and his crew were fantastic! I needed loading at 2 locations, each holding a houseful of furniture and boxes. Mountain Top Moving made short work of each, loading quickly and efficiently while using care with their handling. I was extremely impressed with their speed! At our new home, MTM displayed the same speed, care, and efficiency in unloading. They even made sure all boxes, marked with their intended room, were deposited in the proper rooms without slowing their pace.
All in all, Mountain Top Moving knows what they're doing and they do it well. Were we to ever move again, Eric's the one I'd call, without a doubt. He made my Moving Day a great experience, and I know he'll do the same for you. Thank you, MTM!
My movers bumped my tv and it is shattered. I called the mover and he denies he did it. Now I have to replace my tv. So no I will not refer the company to anyone.
The staff were great. Punctual courteous and creative (getting around mounds of snow). They checked with me regularly so that things were going in the correct rooms. Would definitely recommend & will use again when I finish my move.
Professional, prompt, careful, and experienced, I couldn't be happier with their services, great communication as well, they were on time and definitely went above and beyond highly recommend them I'd leave more than 5 stars if possible
They sent me a man with his wife and kids to move. Absolutely not professionals. He didn't show the first day and would not answer calls or texts. He was 3.5 hours late the following day. The next day he was 3 hours late. No moving supplies and a truck he rented that was not big enough for my move. His wife and kids were the 'professional' movers. He asked for blankets, a dolly, etc. I just checked our storage and it has very nice things thrown on top of each other. Ruined furniture, a $6k natuzi 50 grade couch. I can't see what they covered up. I will have to hire someone else to clean up the mess. My recommendation is to run in the other direction. AND charged me $2000.00 more than quoted and asked for more. TERRIBLE
Don’t even do no kind of business with these people if you a Moving Company they will not provide you no proof of transactions of the fee they are you. I paid for job leads from them in September and it now 1-1-2024. Jason is the head boss and he will contact you will he fill like it . Don’t get me wrong they have sent work in the past but if they don’t want to send you anything they not even if you paid for them to.
I wish I never used this company. They are not movers, they are dishonest brokers and they work with unprofessional moving companies. I was told one quote for moving a bedroom set and 75in television10 minutes to my new apartment, and that it was going to be 4 hours to move. 12 hours later the two illegal men from Diamond Hands Moving Company that Moving Ally sent were still in my new apartment demanding triple the amount of money agreed upon and wanting $300 cash each in order for them to leave my apartment. They said they were going to come back the next day and I kept telling them I did not want them to return. Not only did they break the drawers in my expensive dressers, cracked the marble tops and chipped the wood on my furniture they also broke my 75in tv that is not even a year old. Both Moving Ally and Diamond Hands Movers refuse to take responsibility for this and reimburse me for the damaged items and the extortion from their workers. Stay away! They are dishonest and opportunists trying to take advantage of people.
